Summary
"Here I always figured you'd be the one coming to spring me from someone's dungeon," Anders had said as they paused at an intersection of hallways. "I had it all planned. I'd be in the Gallows, Templars all around, holding the brand for the Rite of Tranquility. Then you'd burst in and break my chains."
"Of course," Hawke had said, in a perfunctory fashion, because obviously he'd do that.
And then Anders had turned to him and said, in front of the Maker and everyone - but most specifically in front of Fenris and Isabela - "And then it'd be all about the best way to show my gratitude."
Hawke's brain had stuttered, and he'd just stared at Anders for a moment.
(Act 2; in which a bit of banter first drives Hawke to distraction, then turns into an experiment that ends up a bit more fraught than anticipated. But isn't that always how it is with Anders?)
