Chapter Text
The ground was hard beneath where Izuku was sprawled out on the floor, Kacchan towered above him preparing another explosive hit, he felt his life flash before his eyes. He had to think of a way out of this, he didn’t know if he could survive much more of it, his hair was already beyond fried. In a last moment panicked decision, right before Katsuki’s palm collided with him he closed his eyes and yelled.
“I’M IN LOVE WITH YOU!”
Katsuki stills.
Izuku pants, shaken by the brute force he used to say that. After a moment he opened his eyes noticing that Katsuki hadn’t hit him, he looked up to find him motionless and red in the face.
He gulps.
The silence between them is palpable; time moves achingly slow as they stare at each other.
In a hushed tone, Katsuki asks, “What?”
The weight of what he just said finally sinks in and Izuku blushes profusely, mouth opening and closing like a fish out of water with no sound coming out. What the heck! Did he just say that he loved Kacchan? That’s insane how could he love a mean bully like Kacchan? He couldn’t even begin to fathom where on God’s green earth he pulled that from.
At least it stopped Kacchan from pulverising him but he couldn’t help but feel like he’d dug his own grave. He lied to Kacchan, what was he going to do when he found out? Izuku concluded that he’d probably not care in the first place so he slumped in relief, the speed of his heartbeat decreasing drastically.
His calculations were incorrect.
“Did you just say you were in love with me?”
Izuku sat up before replying, “Um… Yes?” This was so awkward, if Izuku wasn’t paralysed from nerves he’d hit himself on the head repeatedly — he wished the ground would swallow him up right about now.
Katsuki scoffed and outstretched his arm, “Tch m’not even surprised, I guess you can be my boyfriend or whatever.”
Izuku took his hand and allowed himself to be pulled up, “Thanks Kacchan!” It was only when he stood upright that he realised what the second half of that sentence said. “B-B-B- BOYFRIEND!?” If Izuku was red before he was whatever is redder than that now.
Katsuki rolled his eyes, but the blush that stretched to his ears betrayed how he really felt, “If you’re in love with me it can’t be helped.” He shrugged. “It is what it is but I ain’t settling for any extra so this better be worth my while.”
Izuku felt sweat build up from where their hands were still conjoined and tried to pull away only to be stopped by Katsuki’s Iron grip, He tugged harder only for Katsuki to hold tighter. As they played this mini tug of war Izuku stuttered, “B-but you hate me?”
“Don’t be so close-minded Deku, haven’t you heard of enemies to lovers?”
Enemies to lovers? No, no, no this cannot be happening. And wouldn't that mean he had to hate Kacchan? They weren’t exactly enemies, it was more like bully x victim, Kacchan roughhoused him like it was his job and he couldn’t do anything except sit there and take it. Even then he didn’t have a bone in his body that hated Kacchan. It was a dislike at most, but even that wasn’t the right word.
Izuku pulled at his hand again only for Katsuki to pull ten times harder causing Izuku to face plant into him. It happened so fast that Izuku could only watch from outside his body as he fell into Katsuki’s embrace. His personal space was so violated and his lips… His lips were now smashed onto Katsuki’s.
They pulled away from each other rapidly, the accidental kiss ending as fast as it started. Katsuki’s hand also let go, finding its new home on his dewy lips. Izuku scrubbed on his own, coughing up a lung. He kissed Kacchan! He felt like his life was moving faster than he could keep up with and suddenly he couldn’t feel the ground beneath his feet.
His famous last words before he passed out were a mumbled, “Kacchan stole my first Kiss…”
—
Izuku didn’t know that his life was going to do a full one eighty.
The next day Katsuki arrived at school with a bouquet of flowers. Izuku raised an eyebrow looking around for who Katsuki was going to give it to, he decided to ignore the fact that the other day Katsuki had become his alleged boyfriend because he was ninety per cent sure he had dreamt that up.
Their eyes met across the corridor and that cocky smirk took over his face before he sped up marching into Izuku’s direction. Izuku trembled where he stood by his locker frantically looking around in hopes that it wasn't him Katsuki was approaching.
Izuku accepted his fate. Fate told him he was wrong. Fate told him Katsuki was in fact approaching him.
“My darling nerd.”
Izuku blinked cluelessly, darling!? “K-Kacchan! What… What are you doing here?”
Katsuki rolled his eyes, “I do go to school here idiot, but anyway, I have something for you.”
Izuku gulped, “Y-you do?”
“Of course I do, I’m the best at this boyfriend thing as well as everything else.”
Huh, so he didn't dream it up.
Katsuki outstretched a bouquet of roses. They looked beautiful at first glance. It made Izuku gasp as he took hold of them. It was then that he realised the roots and big lumps of dirt were still attached, dangling at the bottom of the stems.
Izuku mumbled under his breath, “Is… Is that a worm?” Izuku’s lips pressed tightly together as he looked up at Katsuki.
“Got 'em from my neighbour's garden, she’s a massive bitch. Figured I’d give these flowers to a better home.”
“Oh um…” Katsuki glared at him, through gritted teeth Izuku smiled albeit shakily. “It's great I love it Kacchan I’ll… I'll treasure them forever.”
Katsuki blushed, “Stupid nerd.” He went to ruffle Izuku’s hair paying no mind to the flinch as he did so. As he ran his fingers through Izuku’s soft curls he spoke quietly, “Flowers don’t last for shit, but don't worry I'll keep giving you more.” He pulled away after that and walked away.
This time Izuku blushed before bringing the flowers up to his nose to smell them. Kacchan was really nice this morning, he didn't condone the way the flowers were gathered but the overall gesture was… Sweet. It was the thought that counted.
Izuku shook his head and placed the flowers into his locker before slamming it shut. He shook his head, baffled at the train of thought he just went down — this was gonna be a long ride.
—-
Lunch came around, and Izuku headed up to the rooftop, the only place a quirkless kid could eat some lunch undisturbed. Izuku tried not to let his loneliness get to him. He was a nice guy — he knew that. However, as soon as the person he was talking to found out about his quirklessness, they’d forget all about how nice their conversation had been, they’d look at him with pity or disgust before leaving, because who would want to be associated with someone quirkless?
Everyone in this small school and small town knew, and on the off chance they didn't, he’d have to tell them anyway. Izuku decided to spare himself the heartbreak and kept to himself. At least he had his mum; he really loved her.
The entrance to the rooftop swung open. Izuku, who was looking through his bag for his cheese and butter sandwich, looked towards it. His eyes widened, and before he knew it, Katsuki was right in front of him.
“There you are, my sweet. I was looking all over this dump for your scrawny ass.”
What the hell is with these mushy pet names? “You were? Why?” Izuku scanned through his brain files searching for what he could’ve done to provoke the lion. He made sure he left the house earlier than usual to take the long way to school, successfully avoiding Kacchan. He used the back entrance and avoided stopping by his locker just in case Kacchan managed to somehow be there. He even ditched PE class but hell Izuku is one unlucky guy of course Kacchan managed to find him. Even if he left for lunch five minutes early and ate in the most secluded area of the school.
“DEKU!” Katsuki yelled.
“Waa-cchan!” Izuku gripped his chest feeling startled as Katsuki had apparently taken it upon himself to rip him from the comforts of his headspace.
“Did you even hear what I said? You’re always stuck in that fat head of yours.”
Izuku gulped before looking up at him. “Whatever.” Katsuki grumbled before sitting next to him on the bench. “What are you doing?” Izuku questioned.
Katsuki rolled his eyes, “If you were listening before you’d know that I’m here so we can eat lunch together like couples do.” Katsuki slung his backpack off and started to dig through it ignoring Izuku’s sarcastic whisper of, “Yeah because we’re a couple now.”
Katsuki dropped a bento box onto Izuku’s lap. “Here I made you lunch.” Izuku bit his lip apprehensively — Kacchan wouldn't poison his ‘boyfriend’ right? He opened it up and gasped at the contents. There were four dividers. In the biggest sat two big bunny-shaped onigiris, in the other two sat some heart-shaped cucumbers and carrots. In the last division there seemed to be some chopped kimchi. Izuku's mouth watered, he had to stop himself from drooling onto the food.
He was so focused on the heartfelt presentation that he didn't notice Katsuki’s eyes boring into him. This must have taken ages, Izuku looked over at Katsuki's. It didn't look anything like his — it didn't even have the dividers.
When Katsuki cleared his throat he looked back up at him, “I know you don't like your food touching cus you're a picky little shit so I made sure to keep em separated. It's no biggie.”
Izuku smiled brightly before embracing Katsuki in a quick side hug, “Thank you so much Kacchan!” He couldn’t believe Kacchan remembered that and began stuffing his face shortly after, mumbling different variants of Kacchan’s so thoughtful, Kacchan’s so kind, Kacchan is such a good cook.
Katsuki blushed beside him, completely neglecting his food but quickly snapped back into reality “Don’t talk with your mouth full!” And started stuffing his face too.
When they had finished Izuku sat back with a content smile, “Thanks Kacchan!”
Katsuki looked over unamused, “I heard you the first fifty times.” He paused, keeping his eyes locked onto Izuku’s face before leaning in. Izuku hadn’t noticed at first but when he did he held his breath nervously.
Katsuki stopped a few inches from his face before raising a hand to the corner of Izuku’s lips, his ruby eyes were at half-mast and his touch felt like pinpricks on Izuku’s skin — he couldn’t look away. Katsuki dragged his thumb gently before pulling said thumb to his mouth and sucking on it.
Izuku’s breath hitched and his cheek warmed up… Why did this feel so sensual?
The moment was short-lived.
Katsuki drew back and shifted along the bench. “You had some food on your face,” He shook his head. “Such a messy eater, what would you do without me huh?”
Izuku sat up before hunching forward, burying his head in his hands, willing the redness in his face to go away. He was too busy drowning in his thoughts to notice Katsuki’s celebratory stance beside him and his own matching blush.
He felt a pat on his back, “There, there Deku don’t whine about it, I'll be here to clean ya up from now on.”
Izuku assumed Katsuki meant that in a comforting way but it did quite the opposite, he shot up abruptly and swung his backpack onto his shoulders. He needed an out so he ran towards the exit, he yelled. “I NEED TO POOP!” and with that, he was gone abandoning Katsuki on the rooftop.
Katsuki looked on wide-eyed before huffing, He clenched his fist in the air with a smirk. He was aceing this boyfriend thing! Katsuki might not seem like it but he was a big hopeless romantic as long as he’d been able to process media he’d been hooked onto every romance drama, manga, song you name it. Imagine his delight when Izuku confessed his undying love for him.
He’d always wanted to be the main character of a romance novel and here he was living his romance-filled fantasy. From Deku’s bold confession that turned the reins of their story from enemies to lovers, they’re cliche but accidental first kiss! He squealed into his pillow that night kicking his feet like a girl he felt so elated.
Deku must’ve felt so overwhelmed with love that's why he fainted right afterwards, Katsuki blushed with a lopsided smile. If this were a movie he was sure the viewers would be so intrigued and filled with butterflies! As all-loving boyfriends do, he got Deku the most beautiful roses, he remembered how speechless Deku was at first, the way he twirled and jumped around exclaiming he was going to treasure it forever. He laughed out loud, silly Deku.
It may have taken him three tries to perfect Deku’s bento but it was all worth it, Deku smiled at him and initiated physical contact! Katsuki Bakugo was the best at everything so it was to no one’s surprise that his boyfriend enjoyed his cooking so much, he may have teased Deku about the number of times he praised him but secretly he ate it all up.
He stood up and put his backpack on one shoulder then began walking. The next period was going to begin soon but he couldn’t help the sizzling from his palms as he reminisced on what happened next. He doesn’t have enough fingers to count how many shows or fanfics had the scene, the scene he just acted out in real life! The act of cleaning food from a love interest's mouth and then licking one's finger; it's a gesture often used in fiction to signify intimacy and affection, and can be considered a form of romantic caretaking.
Safe to say he aced that if Izuku’s flustered reaction was anything to go by. He was so excited, there were so many things he wanted to try, many romantic fantasies waiting to be experienced. Even though the price to pay for such early experiences is to date the only quirkless loser in the school — He was still going to make the most of it!
—
The next day, Izuku ran to school because he woke up late. Usually, he tended to spend his afternoons in solitude doing whatever he needed to. Although, last night Katsuki had taken it upon himself to spam message Izuku every second of the afternoon explaining that ‘those in love can’t bear to be apart for so long.’ — long being a minute apparently.
When Izuku would leave him on delivered or seen for longer than three minutes Katsuki would get angry and spam him like not texting every moment was trouble in paradise. Izuku didn't know that Katsuki could be so clingy.
It would’ve been endearing if he hadn't lost sleep over it. Katsuki went to bed at eight pm after being adamant that they send good night texts every night starting from then. This allowed Izuku to do what he would’ve done hours ago but now it ended up cutting into the night.
Arriving at his locker Izuku opened it to find a letter, he looked around the empty corridor before picking it up. He had a sneaking suspicion that Kacchan was the one behind this. The letter read :
My Dear Deku,
You have really mangy hair, no seriously it's a mess.
However, I want to run my hands through it anyway.
You can’t stop me.
Your eyes are big like bugs or some shit,
kinda feels like you’re staring into my soul — it’s creepy.
Anyway, green’s my favourite colour now…
Use your nerd brain to figure out why that is.
And I like your freckles I guess.
- Your one and only
Izuku sighed and ran a hand through his hair, it got stuck so maybe Kacchan had a point. He placed the letter in his bag before heading to registration, he wouldn't say that whatever Katsuki had written for him fell under the love letter category. He assumed love letters would be more… Loving? He couldn't even tell if Katsuki was complimenting him or insulting him. He shrugged, pushing it to the back of his mind to analyse later.
Izuku squeezed his backpack straps to ground himself, he felt really disoriented. He knew this new shoujo girl lifestyle he was living would change his school life but the fact that it messed up his at-home routine just made him feel nauseous.
He apologised for being late and took his seat ignoring the stares from his classmates and obviously Kacchan. When he sat down he noticed a post-it note on his desk reading ‘open me’ he lifted up his desk lid to find a pack of chocolates and that was the last straw.
Izuku held back a sob suddenly feeling extremely overwhelmed. He gripped his hair, pulling it in timed intervals, focusing on the feeling as he starved off any tears that threatened to pour.
He eventually calmed into a state of numb anxiety as he cradled his head in his arms, his desk feeling like a safety boat in the middle of the ocean.
Time was blurred behind the tears he didn't shed, and before he knew it form time was over. His head ached and his mouth felt dry. He wanted to crawl into a ball and hide because everything felt too much.
A sound bled through the cracks, “Oi, nerd.”
Izuku didn’t respond so the voice spoke out again.
“Deku baby.”
Izuku shot up frowning with a blush at the ridiculous nickname, he winced as the room spun around him, his centre of gravity off whack causing him to tilt forward. A hand on his shoulder stopped him and he recoiled like the palm had scorched him.
Izuku squeezed his eyes shut, rapidly shaking his head and mumbling, “Not now, not now.” Like a broken record, a desperate attempt to get the person to understand that right now touch felt so bad and he didn’t — couldn’t handle it.
“Izuku.”
Izuku opened his eyes and finally looked at who was trying to get through to him. The logical part concluded way deeper into this mess that it had to be Kacchan but seeing him displaying a face of concern right at him filled him with embarrassment.
He broke their eye contact with a whimper focusing on tapping his fingers in an even rhythm on the table. He knew he was cutting into his first lesson by being here and he tried to ignore the fact that he was making Kacchan late too. He bit his lip, speeding up the rhythm in an attempt to soothe himself with the comfort of a familiar pattern.
“Oi can you hear me?”
Izuku quickly glanced up before looking back at his fingers hoping that was enough to answer that question.
With a grunt, Katsuki continued, “What’s wrong, why are you freaking out?”
Izuku brought his hands to his ears and closed his eyes so he could think clearly. Obviously, his new relationship with Kacchan has done more harm than good in the grand scheme of things. And obviously, he had to tell Kacchan that.
Should he break up with Kacchan? He made a list in his head.
Pros:
- Meals from Kacchan? He isn’t sure if it’ll be a regular thing but it might so that could be fun.
- No more bullying? Kacchan hasn’t exploded him once since the start of all this. Izuku's hair has never seen better days.
- Kacchan being nice… and the first friend he’s had in years…
Cons.
- Safety routine abolished because Kacchan is an unpredictable force of nature who’s made it his life’s mission to sweep the rug from below his feet.
- The fact that he doesn’t even like Kacchan like that but has to… in a way act like he does? So far he hasn’t needed to be very convincing; it seems like Kacchan can fuel this thing on his hesitant words alone.
- Lying to Kacchan.
Izuku thought long and hard. Maybe there was a way to compromise… He opens his eyes partly surprised to see Kacchan sitting there patiently just watching him.
Izuku removed his hands from his ears and ran them up and down his thighs. “Well.. Uhm.” He blinked mustering up the courage and took a deep breath. “You texted me a lot yesterday K-Kacchan.”
The boy in question raised an eyebrow, “So fucking what?”
Izuku flinched even though Katsuki hadn’t raised his voice. “Well, I wasn’t able to do what I needed to do. There's nothing wrong with wanting to talk per se — It’s just. You see I have a routine or, or an outline? That I follow you know, every day? I just… Safety and uhm predictability feels… It’s important to me. And when I can’t have that I start to panic okay? So I started to panic, my home life changed, and my school life obviously changed. I mean, when have I received flowers or c-chocolate before? And it all just bubbled up to the surface and I stopped working…”
It was silent for a moment, the fact that Kacchan hadn’t interrupted that whole speech gave him a little sliver of hope.
Katsuki cleared his throat, “So what, I can’t text you?”
Izuku shrugged his shoulders, “We can talk but… I need to be able to get things done at the same time.”
Katsuki grunted, “And I can’t get you gifts anymore?”
Izuku spluttered hands waving around his face like a maniac. “No — no I don’t mind. That wasn’t really the problem, I mean the gifts are nice?”
“The hell? You’re so confusing.” Katsuki frowned.
Izuku’s shoulder hunched up to his ears, “Sorry… I know I can be a lot. You don’t have to be with me anymore.”
Break up it was, Izuku guessed it was kind of a good thing? It was short-lived and he wasn’t excited to go back to their previous dynamic but hey, at least he didn’t have to lie anymore and he could go back to the safety of his regular life.
“Haah?” Katsuki bellowed, “You saying I can’t handle it or something? The fuck kind of boyfriend would I be if I couldn’t deal with your scrawny ass?”
“Ehh?” Izuku squeaked.
“I’m the fucking best.” Katsuki leaned in, “If anything, a challenge would be a good thing because it’s another opportunity for me to come out on top. Listen up Deku cus I’m gonna tell you what's up.”
Izuku leaned in, “So what we’re gonna do is this. We’ll call instead of text that way you can still do all your nerdy bullshit whilst basking in your one true love's presence.” Izuku gulped.
“And as for the gifts… I’m gathering it wasn’t a problem? You just felt…” Katsuki sat back and cracked his neck a few times. “Off kilter? And the gifts were just I don’t fucking… ugh whatever.”
He slammed his fist on the desk making Deku jump. “I get it okay? Well obviously I don’t but I get what you were trying to say. It’ll all be okay right?”
“Right…” Izuku parroted.
“Right.” Katsuki finalised. “So we ain’t breakin up, you’d need to pull something way worse to get rid of me.” He smirks. Before cackling like a witch.
Izuku didn’t know if he should be scared or happy that everything got sorted out. He opened his desk once again and found a pack of chocolate stars. His eyes widened in delight this time.
“Heh. I knew you’d like them. Anyway let’s get to class we’re late enough.”
Izuku held them close to his chest as he followed Kacchan out of the classroom.
—
Ten minutes before lunch Izuku is scribbling down the notes from the board when there’s a knock on the door.
His teacher stops talking before calling out, “Come in.”
Two students from a year above walked in, they seemed like twins. The taller one with long dark curly hair smiled at the class before waving and introducing himself. “Sorry for interrupting sir but hello everyone, my name’s Ouraa and this is my sister Moona!”
She smiles and waves, her dark hair with strikes of purple resting in a plait on her shoulder. “Hello everyone! We are here to let you know that the drama club is hosting a play of the infamous Romeo and Juliet. Auditions are being hosted over the next two weeks!”
Her brother Ouraa speaks up again, “That’s right! But if you’re the shy type don’t you worry there are some behind-the-scenes roles open and they’re equally as important!”
“Yeah, he’s right! So come on down to the drama room when you have time and contribute to the magic!”
Ouraa laughs, “Alright that’s all from us, Ouraa and Moona out!”
Izuku leaned back in his chair watching them leave, they seemed like nice people. Izuku was a bundle of nerves compacted into a person so he was definitely not the target audience but a vague sprinkle of interest still bloomed from within him.
—
Izuku decided against the rooftop and opted for the library, before he got comfortable in his silent corner he skimmed through shelves looking for something to read. On a regular day, he’d read his favourite All Might comic books but he had a craving for something new today.
A bright red book called his name from a shelf taller than him, now Izuku may be shy but he’s very resilient and doesn’t give up easily. So with a goal in mind, he got onto his tiptoes and tried his hardest to reach the book.
Almost there… Almost there… He feels something sturdy against his back, he stiffens and watches a hand graze his before it plucks a book from the shelf.
He stands normally and turns around to see none other than Kacchan. He audibly sighs, “Great.”
Katsuki passes him a lollipop, “Don’t look so glum nerd, here ya go.”
“Uhm thank you? Can I have my book…?”
Katsuki steps forward pressing him against the looming wall of books, “Hm I don’t know…”
Izuku grips the shelves as Katsuki comes closer bracketing him in with his arms. What the heck is Kacchan doing!? They’re so close…The intensity in Katsuki’s eyes made him want to look anywhere else and yet he couldn't.
He felt like he couldn't breathe and that his heart was skipping a beat. He wasn't sure if it was fear or something else making his pulse race like that. The shelf dug into his spine, but all he could focus on was how close Katsuki's breath brushed against his skin.
His thoughts scattered like loose pages, leaving only the heat crawling up his neck. He frowned hating how easily his composure cracked under that smirk, as if the other knew exactly what he was doing.
Izuku felt his cheeks getting even hotter, he started to wonder if he had a fever because all of a sudden he felt hot like he might break into a sweat. “Uh, is it me or did it get really h-hot in here?”
Katsuki smirked, “Nah just you.”
Izuku looks up to him, “Kacchan I think I’m sick.”
Katsuki cocked an eyebrow, “Why’s that?” He brings his hand to tuck a curl behind Izuku’s ear. “Is your heart beating too fast Iz - u - ku?” He swallows as Katsuki lowers his hand onto his chest.
He nods his head and Katsuki blushes with a short laugh, “I tend to have that effect on people.”
“Okay but uh please don’t explode my heart?”
Katsuki cackles and releases him, “Of course you’d think of something like that.” He holds the book and inspects it, letting Izuku have time to catch his breath. “I’ve got way more control over my quirk than that idiot, I'll need to if ima get into UA.”
“Anyway, I'll give you this book under one condition.”
Izuku tilts his head, “What is it?”
“You have to read it to me.”
That’s a weird request but Izuku just wanted to read his book instead of feeling weird and flustered like he was feeling now. “Okay.”
—-
Deku was reading animatedly lounging on the bright red bean bag in the corner of the library. Katsuki was watching his mouth but no sound was coming out — He wasn’t listening.
Deku looked really in his element hell he didn’t know Deku could get this excited over anything but all Might comics. Things between them are still adjusting like all starter couples but lucky for him he’s coupled up with the best candidate for the job.
He wondered if Deku got the love letter he wrote for him, he knew the bars he wrote were the highest quality wooing material and Deku probably fell in love with him even more. He was probably too shy to openly thank him, but who cares? Someone as confident as Katsuki didn’t need much reassurance.
He bet Deku had such a cute blush and that quirky smile on his face, he probably skipped around and did cartwheels or something. The thought of it almost made him laugh out loud.
Rough morning but they came out on top, He’s seen countless times that the candy method is an effective way of making your partner smitten with you. Deku definitely has a sweet tooth; it wouldn't hurt to make him think of Katsuki every time candy was in the mix — such a bulletproof plan. He could only sigh about his wallet.
He kept a rose for himself to see when it would wilt so he could give Deku a new bouquet. It’s taking too long so he has half a mind to explode the flower and get him a new one anyway.
He watches Deku pretty much smell the pages of the book and an odd but kind of welcomed thought slivers into his mind, the fact that Deku’s really cute. He’s kind of thin but as a good boyfriend, he’ll make sure he gets good food and all that jazz. He may look small but his personality and dorky smile seem larger than life.
He wouldn’t go as far as to call himself lucky yet but he couldn’t deny that things we’re looking bright.
Izuku’s timid voice snapped him back into reality. “Kacchan?”
The nerd seemed red in the face, Katsuki would say it’s probably his favourite look on him. “What?”
“Uhm why are you staring at me?”
Katsuki stood up from his own bean bag and plopped right next to Deku, swinging an arm around his shoulders. Katsuki hid his excitement behind his fiery eyes, be cool, be smooth Katsuki. “Cus you're so fuckin’ cute.” He winks.
Izuku goes deathly pale before flushing bright red, his cute little ears ruby at the tips. Katsuki could honestly get up and start break dancing. He was officially the coolest best person in existence — not that he didn’t think that before.
He watched Deku cover his face with his hands and he couldn’t hold back his cackle. “Kacchann!” He whined.
Katsuki peeled Deku’s hands away from his face to see some light tears at the edge of his eyes. His gut told him that they were good tears, nothing he couldn’t kiss better anyway. He leaned forward and quickly pressed his lips to Izuku’s cheek.
He sat back blushing really hard but it was all worth it to see Deku looking like that. The cutest flushed mess he’s ever seen.
Well, that was before his eyes rolled to the back of his head and he fainted.
Oops.
—
Katsuki decided to walk him home, he insisted that it was vital to show his chivalry but also because they lived relatively close to each other. Izuku turns around with an awkward smile, “Okay this is me.”
“Kay.” That's all Katsuki said standing there watching him.
Izuku gulped after a few seconds he turned around in an attempt to go inside, he was very confused about why Katsuki was standing there like he needed something.
As he approached his fence Katsuki cleared his throat pausing Izuku’s steps. “Aren’t you forgetting something?”
Izuku turned around and jumped as Katsuki was suddenly behind him tapping a finger to his mouth. “What — what are you doing?”
Izuku slowly raised his own finger to try to tap Katsuki’s lip as well only for it to get slapped away. “Wrong nerd!”
Izuku frowned, “What is it Kacchan?”
“My goodbye kiss duhh.” He groaned.
Kacchan wants a goodbye kiss? Izuku was getting frustrated he wanted to actually enter his home but of course, Kacchan was the final obstacle. If a kiss was what he wanted a kiss is what he’d get. Izuku stepped forward boldly closing the distance between them.
He tried he really did.
He didn’t kiss him he ended up licking katsuki before he sprinted to his front door and unlocked it.
The slam was the last thing Katsuki heard before he grimaced and walked home.
