“Young man.” Cai heard a voice behind him. Turning around, he saw a young man with blue hair. “I am Seliph. I couldn’t help but notice that gleam in your eyes. What is your name?”
“C-Cai.” He said, taken aback from the sudden presence. “It’s nice to meet you.”
“I couldn’t help but notice that gleam in your eyes. Tell me, why are you here for these Heroic Games.”
Cai found his resolve strengthening, back on familiar footing. “I fight to save my father’s life!”
“An admirable goal. My own father has passed, and there’s no changing that.” Seliph smiled wryly. “I come from far far away, If I were to fight, it would be for more selfish reasons. I want my father’s story to be told to the world at large, and to finish what he started.”
He shook his head and smiled. “But you, my friend, I believe you fight for a worthy cause. One day, it will be time for my father’s story, and mine too. But that is not today.”
“I wish you well. You will do great things.” He reached his hand out, and Cai took it, feeling invigorated.
Seliph sent him off with a wave. “Now, my friend, you best get on your way. Good luck my friend!”
“I will! Thank you!”
As Cai turned forward, he realized he never said goodbye. He turned around to say one last thing to him. But when he looked back, Seliph was gone, as though he was never there.
