Alonso could be brave. He could also try to play it off as a joke if he was horribly misreading the situation. He was going to be brave. “Can I kiss you?” The quiet question came, but in the silence it felt so loud, it hung so heavily in the small space between the two men. Cele was looking at him like a deer in headlights, surprised, like he was not expecting anything of the sort. Alonso was about to apologize, thinking he had misunderstood the atmosphere between them, but Cele seemed to come back to his own body just as Alonso was starting to open his mouth.
It was so quiet, but Alonso heard it perfectly, “Please..” the response came from Cele, breathless like he still couldn’t fully believe it.
