Summary
Ratio only agreed to beta test Cosmic-Planetary Relief Project: Companion Mode(Beta v3.5) because it was “for charity,” “new tech,” and—okay—because his roommate was being overly enthusiastic in that relentless, impossible-to-ignore way that wore down his willpower.
Supposedly, the game pairs players with chibi-rendered beneficiaries/companions from across the galaxy for wholesome bonding and interstellar goodwill , all wrapped in an immersive, feel-good experience..
While most players teach their companions to act cute for rewards, Ratio finds himself teaching his like a half-wild cub and noticing details IPC’s marketing never mentioned. The real environment is too vivid. The reactions are too human even for RPG. And the “motivation system” is off.
Somewhere between babysitting and survival coaching, Ratio starts to suspect his “virtual” partner might not be virtual at all and that the charity façade hides something much more dangerous. But "Aventurine" needs him, and Ratio refuses to hit the “Replace Match” button.
It’s supposed to be a dating sim. He’s playing a cub-raising game. IPC has no idea what to do with him.
