Summary
“What do you think? Am I just wasting my time sitting here?” The words spill from Chan’s mouth before he’s able to think them through.
The waiter seems slightly taken aback by the question. And if he’s being honest, Chan doesn’t know why he asked it in the first place. Whatever he responds with, it’ll probably just make him feel worse. He thinks about backtracking, but before he’s able to, a smug smile settles over the waiter’s face.
“I think you’re too pretty to be waiting for a guy who’s clearly not coming,” he says casually, the smile not leaving his face for a second, even when Chan chokes on his spit. If anything, it seems to widen as Chan frantically coughs, turning away from the other to save himself from further embarrassment. “I- What?”
