There’s a menacing smirk on his gorgeous face, the moonlight glinting off the hilts of two swords strapped to his back. “It seems Loial favours us on this night, cousin.”
“Indeed, Xaden,” the other man says, and from this far away, in the dark of night, she can’t tell them apart. They look nearly identical. Then the words catch up with her, and her blood runs cold. Xaden?
“Or, perhaps, Dunne?” The man called Xaden, who she begs to all the gods isn’t Xaden Riorson, glances at her coronet braid, where the silver strands are surely visible in the moonlight. “After all, it’s not every day you capture a beautiful spy on your own land, is it, Violet Sorrengail?”
