Chapter Text
Pain. It burns... It hurts so much, please it hurts. Nonono please! Please make it stop please! Why are you doing this? Please, just stop…
Beep. Beep.
Izuku sighed at the sound of his All Might alarm clock and reluctantly opened his eyes. He stared blankly at the ceiling for a few moments before shutting his eyes again.
BEEP. BEEEEEP.
If that alarm clock didn’t- Izuku groaned loudly, slamming his fist on the alarm clock, praying that for once the alarm would just shut off on the first try. Apparently, no one felt like answering his prayers because that fucking alarm kept going. Fed up, Izuku threw the alarm clock at the wall. It shattered on impact
“Great.” Izuku covered his face with his hands. Grumbling under his breath, he got up from his bed and crossed the room. He swept up the broken pieces and dumped them into his trash can. “Dammit, now I need a new one…”
Welp, Today’s going just great, isn’t it? Izuku wandered into the kitchen. Thankfully, no one was there to see or badger him as he made coffee. (I know, shocker, Class 1a’s resident Cinnamon Roll drinks coffee, oh the horror!)
Just as Izuku had brewed the perfect cup of coffee and got ready to take a sip of pure perfection, the mug slipped from his head and shattered on the floor. He stood there staring for a good minute. Why me? Mournfully, he bent down and cleaned up the mess. Izuku sat down at the counter and let his head fall down with a thump. Why did he have to wake up at 5 am on a Saturday?
Don’t get him wrong, normally Izuku would be up and about, getting ready for his morning run, but today? Well, today had already started out bad and he had a feeling things were just going to get worse.
The sound of a door closing and the familiar footsteps of Iida entering the common room after just getting back from his morning run, had Izuku sitting up straight and forcing his expression into a much more cheerful and bright smile.
“A-Ah, Good Morning, Iida-kun!” Izuku greeted with forced cheer. Iida didn’t seem to notice, though as he greeted him back. “Good Morning, Midoriya-kun! I hope you got a good rest and are prepared for our class trip!”
Ah, right. The class was going on a trip to the mall, supervised by Aizawa-sensei, of course. Midoriya shuddered internally as he tried not to think about their last trip to the mall. Shigaraki’s hands on his throat, he couldn’t breathe, why couldn’t he breathe? He was going to die wasn’t he?
Stop it. Get it together, Izuku. Izuku looked up just to notice that he had completely missed whatever Iida had just said.
“S-Sorry, what was that?” He asked, smiling sheepishly. Iida frowned. “You should really pay attention more, Midoriya-kun!” He scolded. Izuku flinched internally. Pay attention, Izuku. It’s disrespectful and you know what happens when you disrespect us, don’t you? Good boy. “However, I will repeat myself.” Iida went on for nearly an hour after that, lecturing Izuku about safety precautions and the importance of upholding UA’s reputation.
Izuku cheered in his head as his other classmates entered the common room and Iida’s attention refocused on them.
Izuku looked out the window of the bus, mind wandering as Uraraka chattered away mindlessly beside him. He couldn’t shake the boding in his chest.
The green haired boy jumped as he felt a sharp nudge to his ribs and turned his head, surprised to see that Todoroki had switched places with Uraraka. The ice and flame user stared at him, a question in his eyes. Izuku shook his head and smiled reassuringly.
Todoroki silently offered his hand, not pushing or questioning him, just silently offering company and a method of grounding to Izuku. It was something Izuku greatly appreciated in the other boy. For some reason they just seemed to… get each other. Izuku gratefully took his hand, letting Todoroki trace the callouses and scars that covered it. The time passed
The pair looked up as the bus came to a stop. Iida and Yaoyorozu quickly took charge and corralled the class off the bus.
Aizawa looked over all of them, mentally doing a head count, before he addressed the class. “Alright, hellspawn, you have 4 hours before we have to head back here. If you do not meet me back here by exactly 3:00, I will be forced to come find you, and we all know you don’t want that.” The class shivered at the glare that followed the statement.
“You all have my number incase of emergencies. Stick together, do not do anything illegal, and please, for the love of God, stay out of trouble. Understood” He shot a look at a certain One for All user at that last statement.
The class chorused their agreement. Satisfied, Aizawa stalked off to do who knows what (probably take a nap).
Izuku found himself squished in between Uraraka and Asui as the self proclaimed Dekusquad practically herded him through the mall. Izuku managed to relax at least a little bit as the girls dragged them around. He was completely blindsided when not even half an hour through, he found himself abandoned by his friends!
“O-Oh! I have to go buy some… bug spray!” Uraraka stuttered out before dashing away, Asui trailing behind her.
“Oh, I just remembered I needed something from, uh, that store over there!” Iida exclaimed, pointing at a random store. Todoroki at least had the decency to look apologetic as he was dragged off by Iida.
Oh. Izuku bit his lip. He felt the familiar feeling of anxiety wash over him and wrung his hands together when he felt them start to shake. Did he do something wrong? Of course you did who would want to be friends with a freak like you? You probably creeped them out like always. They only like you because you have a quirk now. Izuku was shaken from his thoughts as he collied with another person.
“O-Oh, I-I’m so s-sorry!” The other person, a mother with a little boy around 5 or 6, glared at him. “Be more careful! Look what you did! You made my son drop his ice cream!” The little boy was crying as he held his now destroyed ice cream. Izuku flinched and tried to calm him down but that just made it worse.
“Ma’am, I-I’m sorry, I can buy another ice cream for your son!” The older woman just scoffed and roughly grabbed his wrist. “You listen here, you need to-” Izuku checked out from the conversation as he tried to find a way out of the woman’s hold. It seemed his prayers were answered as he made eye contact with Aizawa. He tried to convey his anxiety and discomfort with his eyes, pleading for his sensei to step in.
At least some of it must have gotten through as Aizawa started making his way towards them. However, before anyone could say a word or make a move, the child’s quirk activated. Izuku was immediately blinded by light.
The last thing Izuku remembered was the light consuming him and Aizawa’s shouts.
Then, darkness.
