Joel groans as he sits up in his bed, he feels like absolute blummin shit .
Something moves under the covers on the right side of the bed.
Fluffy white fox ears pop out from under the blanket, “You okay Joel?”
“Yeah.” Joel lies, his voice deep from sleep and gravely from something else.
A tickle builds in his chest and he coughs into his elbow loudly.
“You're going to wake the dead.” Bdubs groans, snuggling closer into Etho’s chest where he had been previously asleep.
“Bdubs.” Etho chastises, ruffling the sleepy glare hybrid’s hair, “Joel, you don’t sound good.”
“I’m fine Efho.” Joel reasons.
Swinging his legs over the edge of the sheared bed.
Etho properly sits up, despite Bdubs’ whines of protest.
The fox hybrid brings his boyfriend's head into his lap, lightly scratching at his scalp with his nails.
“You should probably let me take your temperature at least.” Etho reasons, looking at him.
Joel rolls his eyes, “whatever.”
The tanuki stands up and a wave of nausea overcomes him.
He sits back down on the bed, groaning.
“You okay?”
“No.” Joel admits, “I feel like I’m going to puke.”
“As much as I love you,” Bdubs mumbles into Etho’s leg, “Don’t puke in my bed.”
Joel puts his head in his hands, closing his eyes until the nausea wears off.
Etho leans down, pressing a kiss to Bdubs’ head before getting up.
The fox hybrid walks around the bed, moving in front of Joel.
He gently lifts Joel’s head from his hands, seeing a pale face and a red nose.
Etho presses a hand to the back of Joel’s forehead.
The tanuki closes his eyes, leaning into the touch.
He’s warmer than normal.
“Sit here.” Etho says, putting a hand on his shoulder before leaving the room to get the thermometer from the bathroom medicine cabinet where he knows Bdubs keeps it.
When he comes back he finds Bdubs, arms wrapped around their boyfriend, forehead resting on Joel’s shoulder, eyes closed, most likely asleep again.
Joel sits there, head resting on Bdubs’ head, eyes closed, mouth open.
Etho taps his shoulder.
Joel’s eyes flutter open and he moves his head back.
Etho pushes back his brown and green bangs from his forehead so the scanner can get his proper temperature.
‘101.5’ it blinks back at him before stabilizing with a red background.
“You have a temperature of 101.5 Joel.” Etho says, “you stay in bed.”
“Mmmmnnnn.” Joel mumbles, nodding.
He just feels like sleeping again.
Etho leaves, going to put the thermometer back and to grab a potion and a bottle of water from Joel.

When Etho comes back he kicks Bdubs off Joel and has him drink a fire resistance position to try and help reduce his fever.
Etho then has Joel drink some water and lay back down.
Joel gladly lays back down, exhausted already.
“I’ll wake you in a bit so you can eat something.” Joel nods, already closing his eyes.
“Dubs, do you want to help me or stay with him?” Etho asks.
“I’ll stay with him.” Bdubs says, already moving back under the covers, snuggling up into his brunet boyfriend’s side.
Joel lays his right arm over Bdubs.
Etho leaves the two of them, going into the kitchen to make some oatmeal for Joel and himself, and some eggs for Bdubs.

Bdubs wakes up again as he hears his name and smells food.
He sits up and sees Etho coming towards him with a bowl of eggs.
His boyfriend hands him the fluffy yellow eggs, scrambled with some cheese, just how he likes them.
Etho then leaves and comes back with two bowls, this time filled with oatmeal and berries.
Blue berries for Joel and black berries and raspberries for Etho.
Bdubs wakes Joel up and his eyes flutter open.
He sits up, grabbing a tissue from the box on the nightstands and blowing his nose.
Etho hands him the bowl with blueberries to Joel, a spoon already in it.
Joel slowly picks up the spoon, eating it.
Etho sits down at their feet, indulging in his own berry filled breakfast.
Bdubs finishes first, then Etho.
Once Joel is done, Bdubs takes all three of their dishes out, putting them in the sink.
He quickly rinses them out so they will be easier to clean before grabbing three bottles of water, going back to his bedroom.
Bdubs hands one two bottles to Etho before going around the bed and crawling into his space on the spot farthest from the door, right where the sun hit from the window at the perfect time to warm his spot, and wake him up at the perfect time of day.
Etho opens Joels and lets him drink some before setting the tinukie’s on the night sands with his own.
The arctic fox hybrid helps Joel move over to the middle of the bed before sliding back in with him.
“Do you want to watch something?" Etho asks, “I think today is a stay inside and in bed kind of day.”
Joel nods.
Bdubs grabs the remote off the night stand on his side of the bed, turning the tv on.
He ends up putting Zootopia on.
Joel leans into Etho’s side, resting his head on the taller hybrid’ shoulder.
Bdubs snuggles up to Joel, not wanting to miss out on the snuggles.
The tanuki eventually falls asleep, and the duo that is still awake, stays up, watching different movies, waking Joel up every few hours for water and something to eat when they eat.
Joel ends up feeling much better in the morning, glad he got to spend time with his lovers, glad they took care of him.
