Work Text:
If it was one thing that Legend despised from the bottom of his heart, it was hospital waiting rooms- Or anything related to waiting in fact. But this? This was purgatory.
Legend sighs and ruffles his hair for the umpteenth time before pushing himself back upwards on the metal chairs.
Legend hated waiting rooms. But he hated these stupid chairs even more. It seems as though the metal was made of the coldest substance in all of Hyrule. The “armrests” were just an insult, a way of teasing Legend as he sought some extent of comfort as he waited. He couldn’t even lean back on them, because every time he did, he simply slid down pathetically.
Unfortunately, Legend had been dragged to the hospital by Time. Apparently, he insisted on getting a proper check up on him, Hyrule, and Four.
This was because Legend had mentioned some health-related issues to Time. And ever since then, Time had been politely, yet beseechingly holding the suggestion over his head until Legend gave up from retaliating and finally agreed begrudgingly. Him and his inability to keep quiet.
As for Hyrule, the boy had grown up in an extremely secluded environment, in which home-remedies and conspiracy theories made the world keep rotating in his life. Yet, after living with Time, the man nearly passed out when Hyrule had admitted that he had never been to the doctors, and was barely able to even define what a check up was.
Though Four was probably considered best-case-scenario compared to the tragic tale that Hyrule was. When Four had spent their time alone, hopping from cafe to cafe and from park bench to city malls, Four’s medical health was – low on their list of priorities. But Legend couldn’t really blame them, as choosing to sign up for an appointment at the hospital had meant that they were willingly admitting themselves to child care agencies. So, due to those circumstances, it had been at most five years since Four had officially checked on their health with a medical professional.
Obviously, Legend knew that Hyrule had no qualms in joining, and practically hopped into the car in pure glee. Albeit, he was rather surprised when Four out of all people shrugged, pocketed their phone, slipped on some shoes, and sat quietly in the backseat of the car.
Legend shot them all a look of unfiltered confusion. Was this some elaborate joke against Legend? Or was he the only one perplexed by this?
At this moment, Legend had also realized just how unorthodoxly loud everything was. Phones were ringing left and right, the rushed footsteps never seemed to cease, and the peripheral noise of the keyboard tapping and the printer spewing out the world’s supply of copies was what drove Legend closer to the point of snapping the most.
The only thing remotely quiet were the considerate voices of both Hyrule and Four. Legend was extremely bored; He had left his phone at home, didn’t bother bringing a book either, and was too out of it to hold a conversation with anyone long enough to pass the time. Therefore, he opted to resort to watching Four and Hyrule, given that the two were playing a game of some sort.
“Your turn.”
“ Hmm - Okay. It’s something blue… And soft!”
Four scanned the peripheral for a short while, trying to find anything even remotely close to Hyrule’s descriptions. “Is it that person’s jacket?” Four guessed.
“Yup!” Hyrule announced. “You’re good .” Four blushed a little while mumbling a weak “Thank you.”
Seriously?? For the record- Legend had no qualms against either Hyrule or Four; To each their own. But, Legend was struggling immensely with adjusting to this unwelcomed environment, and he really expected the same from the others, making him originally hope that he was better off in this situation, and he was the one to come to their aid; Not the other way round.
All he had to do was stay good enough at keeping it a secret until they got home, and then Legend could fume at the world all he wanted. For now, he simply had to remain perfectly stoic and unbothered. Which, unfortunately, was much easier said than done.
What Legend had assumed was the optimal choice to calm himself down was actually one of the last things he needed to see. Watching Four and Hyrule casually converse and stifle the occasional laugh as really beginning to drive the point home to Legend; Was he the only one uncomfortable with this entire trip? Was he the weird one? Was Legend truly in the wrong? Was this all a fragment of his wary and untrusting thoughts? Was his fear and discomfort nothing but a placebo? All Legend wanted was to know.
To him, Legend finds this experience to be certainly up there with one of the worst of his life. Which to a person that rarely displays hyperbolic thoughts, was undoubtedly something worth looking into. Yet, to Hyrule, this visit was all but magical - And they were still in the waiting room for Hylia’s sake!
He’s been asking Time little questions this entire trip. Pointing at certain signs and rooms and asking for definitions every chance he got. Endearing, sure. But Legend could fuss over his brother later. Now, all he wanted was for the world to just stop moving for not more than but a few seconds.
“What’s that for?” Hyrule tugged at Time’s sleeve, pointing at the contents cart being pushed.
“For checking patients' mouths and throat.” He answered.
“But why?” Hyrule shot yet another question, now conscious of his tongue's existence, sticking it out and to the side to get a faint and quick view of it.
“Incase there’s an infection or an illness there. Doctors press it down on your tongue to get a better view.”
“ Woah .” Hyrule gasped. “That’s so cool!”
While they have been waiting for nearly forever, Legend had lost count on how many times Hyrule sprang up from the chair and explored the hallways; Happily waving after each of the staff members greeted him and studying each of the handed out pamphlets and intendedly focusing on the informational videos, replaying on one of the small wall-mounted TV’s.
Time lets him do so, as it’s his first visit to the hospital, and what’s more exciting than that? While frankly, Legend finds his eye twitching in annoyance as to how anybody could find any aspect of this desirable, or worth even a miniscule amount of interest on.
“Time Lon?” A nurse calls out, reading off a clipboard. Hyrule gasped in excitement, eyes lighting up. All Legend did was groan in exasperation and pull his beanie down over his eyes. He did not have the mental capacity for this.
The walk along the hallways felt as though it lasted for nearly all of eternity. No matter how many turns they made, or how many doors they had bypassed due to the nurses badge, it seemed that Doctor’s office never neared.
“Do you think I could become a doctor one day?” Hyrule asked, voice full of curiosity.
“If you study hard and never give up, then sure!” Time replied. “You can be anything you want.”
Legend rolled his eyes, grumbling something under his breath.
Four trails near behind Legend, internally noting on the hitch in his gait. “You seem bothered.” They blurted out.
“No shit.”
Four winced, “No, I mean you aren’t yourself. Are you doing alright?”
“Just peachy .”
“There’s no need to be so insolent. I’m merely trying to look out for you.” Was the last thing Four said before their conversation lingered off into uncomfortable silence.
“Thank you,” Time nods shortly at the nurse as he holds the door open for them all, closing it behind him.
The office is cold and bleak. The walls are stripped to the barest color, with the occasional medical diagram and a code recognition list, in the case that an emergency occurs. Legend looks around even more, finding nothing but cabinets and shelves, a few marked with signs and taped on papers of warning signs, urging many to avoid unless properly equipped. Legend could only wonder what was stored there.
Luckily, there were three leather chairs, pushed against the wall. At least he didn't have to fight and bargain with his brothers to not be the one awkwardly standing as they all sat. Small mercies.
The only thing that was remotely colorful were the highlighters and post-it notes strewn on the desk.
“Ah, Renado! What a pleasure it is to see you again.” Time warmly greeted, shaking the doctor's hand.
“Likewise. So, I believe you came here for a check up?”
“Yes, for my three sons.” Time nodded, gesturing to the three on the leather chairs. Hyrule smiled and waved, Four simply stared, and Legend did all he could to face the other way and to avoid any extent of eye contact. Perhaps if he stayed still enough, he could blend in with the seat.
Legend failed to hide his blush when Time mentioned ‘sons’.
The two sat at the desk for a short while, discussing certain manners that Legend couldn’t bother enough to eavesdrop into.
“They’re all yours?” Renado said, voice small. “Yes. Not by blood relation though.” Time answered. Renado hummed in response, massaging his own neck briefly.
“It’s been years for them since they had gotten a proper check up. For one of them, it’s even their first time here.” Time whispered, face twisting into a small grimace as he watched Renado’s eyes widen slightly.
“I see.” Renado said. “Are any of them afraid of this perhaps? How about Hyrule?” He checked a few of their spotty records, and frowned at Hyrule’s nonexistent one.
“Not that I know of, though I am skeptical of each in their own way. We’ll discuss Legend and Four later.”
“Time, you never cease to surprise me.” Renado sighed, getting up from the chair. “I’ll see what I can do to make this experience as smooth as possible.
Clearing his throat and shaking his demeanor, Renado faced the others. “Great. Would anyone like to go first?” He said, adjusting his stethoscope properly.
It was no surprise when Hyrule excitedly volunteered himself as first, confidently raising his hand and hopping off the chair.
“To begin, I need to check your height and weight. It’ll be super quick and safe! Can you take off your shoes and step over here? I just want to check your height first.” Legend watched as Renado walked Hyrule through the entire process, trying to offer some sense of comfort and familiarity to the boy. Hyrule isn’t the one that he should worry about.
“Okay, everything seems to be perfectly fine so far. Now, can you please sit over there for me?”
Legend watched with a careful eye, trying to find any anomalies in the casual sight. When Time and Renado conversed, he assumed they must have been friends or acquaintances of some sort, given their informality.
“So Hyrule, how old are you?” Renado began asking light questions. Legend wasn't sure if it was a means of distracting Hyrule or genuine discussion.
“Sixteen- Almost Seventeen.” He replied, staying completely still as Renado checked his heartbeat and breathing.
“Deep breaths.” Renado asked, focusing intensely as Hyrule exaggerated an inhale, followed by a deflating exhale.
“Okay. Everything sounds good!” Hyrule practically beamed from the near praise.
“Now, for the sake of the procedure, I’m going to ask you a few questions; Have you been feeling any unexplainable pain recently?”
That seemed to get Legend’s attention as he immediately looked up the moment it was mentioned.
“No… Not that I know of.”
“Alright. Do you take any prescribed medicine?”
“ Uhh - I’m not quite sure what you mean by that.” Hyrule shyly admitted. “I occasionally take painkillers when I-I have a cold..?”
“Hyrule isn’t currently on anything, no.” Time intervenes for Hyrule’s sake, seeing the budding panic behind the boy’s eyes.
“Okay. Okay, that’s my fault- I should have been more specific with that one!” He jokingly apologies. How could he make such a silly mistake?! Hyrule laughs.
“Now we have one last thing I want to check up with.” Renado announced, patting at the examination table and inviting Hyrule over. “This is going to check your blood pressure.” Renado said, holding up the arm brace. “It’ll feel like a really tight hug alright? And it might even hurt- But that’s okay!” He fastened it securely on Hyrule’s arm, standing back a bit before setting up the machine.
Hyrule hummed to himself as the brace on his arm got increasingly tighter and tighter. He was able to withstand the first few seconds. But the moment that it stayed right at the peak, Hyrule whimpered weakly and held his breath until the sweet release returned. Hyrule exhaled just as the machine did.
“Great job Hyrule!” Renado said, clasping his hands together in a concluding manner. “You seem to be mostly in good health. We might need to run a few more tests considering it’s your first time here, but other than that- You were amazing!” On the breast pocket of Renado’s coat, he pilfered out a lollipop and handed it to Hyrule, who’s smile shone brighter than the Sun.
It was rather arbitrary to reward Hyrule with such a childish demeanor, but judging by Hyrule’s most positive reaction, he figured it was apparently the better alternative.
Hopping off the table and back to the seats, Hyrule was quick to unwrap his treat and pop it in his mouth, humming happily when the sweet, comfortingly artificial Hydromelon flavor hit him.
“Did you see how cool it was?!” Hyrule bounced over at Legend, who was clearly not in the mood for any conversation. Unfortunately, Hyrule was too absorbed by his elation to even notice that, ultimately pushing Legend closer to his already near limit.
“Aww,” Hyrule finally noticed Legend’s unnatural stoicism. “Don’t be upset. There’s nothing to be afraid of- It’s not that bad!” He pouted.
Time glanced over when Hyrule’s voice was a little too loud for comfort, announcing Legend’s false fear.
“I’m not scared. Shut up .” Legend grated through gritted teeth, mimicking a cut-throat mention with his shaking hand, urging Hyrule to promptly silence himself before anyone else assumed that Legend was simply a coward.
He immediately regretted his words as he watched the animation flee from Hyrule’s expression, leaving him bare of any emotion, save for the slight furrow in his eyebrows.
“Oh. Okay.” Hyrule defeatedly said.
Legend internally kicked himself when he realized his mistake. In lieu of apologizing, he grumbled to himself as he turned his back to Hyrule.
He can’t believe himself. Yelling at Hyrule like that? Hyrule?! Out of all the other brothers he hates?! He doesn't deserve him. Hyrule. Legend doesn’t deserve someone as caring and honest and considerate as Hyrule. The one person who had trusted Legend to keep his secrets, explicitly mentioning his particular distaste towards conflict and anger. Legend was angry at him. Was he?
Legend wasn’t angry. Nor upset. Or even sad. He didn’t even know what to call this feeling. He was annoyed, without a doubt. Yet, it seemed to be mixed in with some other feelings of pure negativity. He was overwhelmed. Legend couldn’t stand any second of this either. And now that he thinks about it- Legend is mad.
It is a complete waste of time to come here. Legend doesn’t need a check up. He’s fine. In fact, he’s perfect. And all Legend could process in his fury-addled mind right now is just how ridiculous he looks right now, with his weak attempt at fashion - or simply layering a weirdly sized shirt over a sweater with jeans that are painfully tight on him.
And that’s not even the worst of it- This is only one aspect of Legend’s self-loathing thoughts. He’s sulking like a child, back turned to the world and arms crossed petulantly. He doesn’t even know why he’s acting like this. Out of everyone in this room, Hyrule deserves to be angry- He has the most justification. Legend had yelled at him, because he can’t even solve his own problems- He can’t handle his own emotions, he can’t-
Time and Renado briefly pause the conversation to send a quick glance at Legend, both full of pity. Pity that Legend doesn’t deserve.
“ What? ” Legend hissed, baring his teeth. Yet, the moment he realizes he actually said that out loud, Legend promptly shrinks back, his face now positively crimson in shame.
“Legend has been facing problems with his joints. From what I know, the issue seems to be seasonal, as he only approaches me with it during the colder months. He hasn’t told me much, but by judging the tone in his voice and his more-than-usually pained expression, I believe it may have gotten worse.” Time explained, voice solemn.
Renado pressed the tip of the pen to his cheek, lost in contemplative silence. “We might need to get him on an X-Ray and a quick test. I’m suspecting that there’s something behind it, but I’m not sure what it is yet. I just want to be sure before I administer a diagnosis.”
They both glance at Legend when he curses and pulls his arm back to himself at break-neck speed, hugging it against his chest. Renado fidgets with the pen even more, while Time suffers through Hyrule’s broken expression.
Renado calls Four next to the table, running the same procedure and asking the same mundane questions, to ease the tension in the air. Yet, on Time and Legend’s side, the tension was choking them both, and while Time wasn’t sure on how to approach the situation, Legend’s impatience and fragile pride made it all much more precarious.
“Legend.” Time calls, signaling the boy to his side. “Let’s have a talk, shall we?”
Grumbling, Legend tosses himself up from the leather couch and over to Time, where he is standing next to the door.
Great . Just great . Hylia really had it out for him today.
“Is everything alright?”
Din fucking take it.
“I noticed that you seemed a bit off today. Was it something I did?” Time asked, his voice purposefully dimmed, respecting Legend’s constant need to be out of other’s scrutiny, protecting his pride.
Legend bit his tongue, focusing on the blood drawing out of it opposed to a proper answer.
“It’s okay. I don’t need an answer, I understand.” Time smiled, Legend looked anywhere else other than Time’s gaze, unable to muster proper eye contact- Or any other contact for that matter. “I just want you to know that everything is okay.” He guestured to Renado and Four, the latter barely moving or speaking. “If this is too overwhelming for you, I won’t stop you from leaving.”
“‘m fine.” Legend weakly says, he doesn’t sound like it very much.
“What’s your favourite color?” Renado asks, checking Four’s eyes.
“...”
Awkwardly, Renado tries to pick thing’s back up. “S-So! Time told me that you’re 15, huh. Big number! Excited for your Sweet Sixteen?”
Finally, for the first time this entire appointment, Four’s mouth barely moves, the smallest yet most powerful of words spill out. “Not really.” They say. “It’s obvious I don’t look like it anyway. There’s no need to try.” They deadpanned, devoid of emotion.
“Legend?” Time waves an accusatory hand at the boy, who is currently spacing out with a dazed expression, as though he was mentally in another timeline.
“W-What?” He blearily replies. “I’m fine.” Time doesn't comment on it when Legend repeats again, this time unprompted, staring at Four silently unwrapping the lollipop and casually handing it over to Hyrule, who gladly accepts the offering.
“Are you sure? Because-”
“Okay! We’re almost done now. Legend? Are you ready?” Renado announces, pulling up Legend’s medical record and skimming through it with an eased expression and a careful eye.
Before Time could say anything, Legend pushes him aside and hurriedly sits on the table, bracing himself for the world to end and ready to get it over with.
“Alright then. Looks like we’re in a hurry!” Renado jokes at Legend’s speed. He doesn’t laugh.
Legend can’t stand this anymore. He wants to rip out of his own skin and leave . With every touch and prod and question does he grow even more upset.
“This might be a little uncomfortable.” Renado says as he hooks up the arm brace. Legend nearly revolts at the accidental skin-to-skin contact.
He isn’t moving. Time realizes. Legend’s pliant, still and practically willing to subject himself to this near purgatory. If Time didn’t know better, he’d assume that Legend’s compliance was voluntary.
It was not. He had to do what was right. Perhaps comforting Legend could help, or at least some extent of closeness could mediate his pain.
So Time does exactly just that. Standing next to the examination table, Time watches the two with a keen eye, nodding and humming in agreement to Renado’s words and advice towards Legend’s health.
Legend barely registers it. Their voices sounded from afar and mumbled, as though Legend was being held underwater.
And it almost feels like it too, because when Renado finally ends the process and nothing but the blissfully empty air touches Legend, he gasps in a deep breath.
“So Legend.” Renado begins, recoiling up the wiring with his wrist before storing it away. “Time informed me about your joint pain.”
Legend shot the meanest glare over at Time, who only reciprocated in an encouraging smile.
Sweet Hylia above help him, Legend’s going to kill somebody.
“Judging by your age, the general knowledge of it seems rather concerning. We may need to run an X-Ray. Is that alright?” He asks, shooting glances to both Legend and Time respectively, waiting for a rebuttal. When met with none, he continues. “It will help us find any inflammation in his joints and hopefully, identify the problem in no time.” Still, no reply.
Time was the first to speak after the extended silence. “I believe that sounds like a great idea. It’s better to address everything we can while it’s still early. Are there any other tests that need to be done?”
Renado nods. “While it’s not as urgent as this, I would like to keep Hyrule over for a blood test. There’s also a few important manners I need to discuss with you regarding Four- Nothing too concerning though! ” He quickly corrected himself when he saw the color drain from Time’s face.
Well. There he has it. There is no way that Legend is going to be able to talk himself out of it. He considered running away, yet the risk of getting trapped in a dead-end and dragged back in the room like a stubborn child was far too great. The hallways were too unfamiliar to make a break for it.
The walk back to the waiting room was filled with the same amount of dread as the walk from it. Legend really thought it was finally going to be over, and he never had to return to this Din damned place ever again, but with him and his amazing luck; By the likes of it, they were going to need to stay here for yet another hour- If not more.
The wait was full of silence, on Legend's side at least. Lively conversation filled the air between Hyrule’s boisterous jokes and Time’s laughter, which the occasional snicker from Four. Eventually, another nurse popped by from the side of the door, calling out to Legend’s name.
This time, the others didn’t follow him, probably because they weren’t allowed to anyway- Good. Legend didn’t want them. He didn’t need them.
The room with the X-Ray was dark, the door thick with multiple locks. There was another room inside of it, clear glass separating the two realms. Legend shuddered, wondering just what torture he was about to undergo next.
“What’s an X-Ray?” Hyrule asked, kicking his legs as they didn’t quite reach the ground unlike Time’s.
“It’s to check your bones. So doctors can see if they’re broken or out of place.” Time answered, Four humming in agreement.
“Whoa- That’s so cool! You can see a whole skeleton!!”
“That’s right. We aren’t sure on which of Legend’s joints they want to check, so they could either take one big scan, or multiple smaller ones.”
“Baby scans!” Hyrule gasped.
“Baby scans indeed.”
A few moments later, Legend stumbles out of the door, scowling. His face is completely red as he shyly and embarrassingly tugs his jacket over himself, trying to hide himself in the fabric as much as he can.
“How was it?” Hyrule asked.
Legend grunts in response, making his point by sharply zipping his jacket up and pulling the hood over his head.
When Time and Hyrule get admitted in, Four immediately takes Time’s seat, as it’s farthest from Legend’s. He’d have to thank Four later when he has the chance.
“Are you ready?” Time asks.
“Yup! I am a little scared though.”
“It’s alright. That's why I’m here.” He reassures.
“I know. I’m also very excited!” Hyrule bounced.
As they wait at the table, Hyrule unfortunately catches a quick glance at the nurse unsheathing the needle. Now, he’s suddenly no longer excited. Time notices his stirring, and the worried expression twisted on Hyrule’s face.
“Don’t worry Hyrule. You won’t even feel it. I promise.” Time says as the nurse disinfects an area of Hyrule’s arm. The dread sets in further when he can even smell the strong scent of the anti-septic.
With his other arm, Hyrule grabs onto Time’s sleeve and immediately shuts his eyes when the nurse begins to insert the needle.
The nurse is steady yet swift, slowly drawing out blood while Hyrule weakly whimpers, tightening the grip on Time’s sleeve.
Eventually, when they pull it back out, Hyrule wipes away a single stray tear, and doesn’t open his eyes until his arm is bandaged as Time deems it safe again.
Later, Time explains to the others that it may take a few hours until they get the results back. Four remains stoic, as per usual, as Legend exhales a deep, guttural sigh of pure misery.
“I know, I know. But look at the bright side- There’s a cafe downstairs, so we can sit there.”
Blissfully for Legend, the cafe is mostly empty, save for a few nurses who had just gotten off their shift and the occasional patient. Time gave Legend the autonomy to choose a table for them, so of course, he chose the one in the farthest corner of the entire hospital, next to the shelf of display mugs and wall-mounted paintings.
“Do you all want something from here?” Time asks, pulling out his wallet from his back pocket.
“I-I’ll take the hot chocolate. In a small.” Hyrule bashfully asks.
“Tea. No sugar.” Four says straightforwardly before simply meandering off into the direction of the table that legend pointed at earlier.
“What about you?” Time turns to Legend, who was much more silent than usual.
Legend mutters an indistinct negative, not meeting Time in the eyes.
“Are you sure?”
Is he?
He stares at Time with confusion in his eyes.
Did he really deserve this?
He was being rude to everyone all day, Legend concluded with shame.
“It’s fine, I promise.” Time politely encourages, dragging Legend out of his usual self-deprecating thought cycle.
“Um. I guess I’ll take… that.” he said while pointing at the poster above, an advertisement for a new drink of some sorts. “In any size. T-Thank you .” He says without any regard for negotiation before retreating to wait with Four.
This time around, as they wait, Legend includes himself into some of the conversations. Even if it’s not much, and simple nods or words of agreement, it’s still a notable improvement from before. Maybe things weren’t so bad after all. Perhaps Legend was just a little overwhelmed and it took over him for a while.
There was nothing wrong with Legend.
Yet, before they were aware of it, enough time had passed for them to go over and check for the results. Which had of course meant that they needed to return to Renado’s office.
“So, the results are in. Judging by the tests run and the explanation you gave me, Legend is diagnosed with Rito’s Arthritis.”
Both Legend and Time shot him a weird look. They also both thought the same thing, “Rito? Like the bird?”
“Yes, like the bird. The bird species that it native to the Hebra Highlands- The name explains why your condition worsens as the temperature lowers.”
Well that makes sense. Legend thought.
“There is no cure for it, yet I can prescribe you painkillers and a cream. Use them both when pain flares up. Also, you can always simply dress in warmer and thicker clothes, yet I personally think the medicine works better.” Renado explains with a wink.
“As for Hyrule, the blood test apparently confirms the existence of Anemia.”
Time nods slowly in response, Hyrule freezes in fear as his heart drops.
“It’s nothing to be too worried about!” He quickly reassures Hyrule, who looks as if he was about to start crying.
“Also again; There is only so much that can be done. I’ve prescribed supplements and vitamins for Hyrule. He just needs to take them daily- And you can also pick them up at pharmacies without a note from the hospital, same with Legend.” Renado says, gesturing to them both.
“There is… One more thing we need to talk about. Time?” Renado holds the door open.
“I’ll be back soon, boys. Don’t break anything!” He hurriedly says as he closes the door behind.
“So. About Four.” Renado begins. “Are you sure they’re fifteen? Confident??”
“Yes, why?”
“Their medical record states the same. Yet, the only thing bothering me is their size . Are they getting enough nutrients at home?”
“Yes. I’m sure of it.” Time confirms.
“I see.” Renado says, even if he doesn't sound very convinced of it.
“I wondered the same at first. Perhaps it’s related to genetics? I’m not so sure myself- I haven’t seen their parents before.” Time said.
“There is a chance. If anything happens, never hesitate to call your old friend, yeah?” Renado places a warm hand on Time’s shoulder.
“Of course.”
The visit to the pharmacy was quick. They handed the note over, and in break-neck speed, bagged the goods and left the hospital.
The sunset was warm, sky a deep orange as wisps of clouds circled the periphery. Legend felt as though he was in that same solace, the heaviness of the bag reminding him of his newfound bliss.
Finally heard, finally valued, and finally no longer in pain anymore.
