“I mean no offense, Link,” Ravio laughed, seeming not to catch the blush on Legend’s face as Ravio used his name. “I just figured you might want some pointers. Flirting, hand holding, relationship advice, y’know? You don’t have to accept the offer by any means!”
Flirting? Hand holding? Legend gulped.
He was already an idiot. Maybe he could play dumb for a little while longer…

It had taken nearly all of the strength Hyrule had to keep his composure in that moment. And Wars saw, he knew-- the man was smirking-- but he just barely managed it. Swallowed, glanced over long enough to catch Wars' eye with his own, and nodded.

But Link knows everyone who lives here. With all the political unrest from Agahnim's reign, tourists to Hyrule are scarce– and yet, here are one, two, three, four… nine strangers all walking together along the trail. Armed. He has to strain his ears, but he can just manage to catch their voices from this distance.
“...We don’t even know where it’ll be.”
“It seems like there’s going to be somewhere indoors we can stay this time, though."
“And with any luck, the Vet will get us in the castle.”
Link bristles. The castle? The one in the scarf is saying something about an audience with the princess, but Link’s not about to let this slide. The knights are in no state to be protecting her right now, and Link’s not half bad with a sword himself.
If there’s anyone who’s gonna stop them, it’s me!Without thinking past that he leaps out of his hiding place, squarely blocking their path and leveling his blade.
“What do you want with the princess?” he demands.

The boy frowned harder, sword raising to point directly at Legend’s face. “Your kind don’t leave the forests,” he squinted suspiciously, stepping further into the cave. “What are you doing in here?”
“It’s, uuuuuh,” Legend scrambled for words, panic flashing through his brain. “Secret!” He blurted. “To everybody,” he tacked on. Yes. Perfect. It wasn’t half of what he’d meant to say, but it worked. Excellent sentence structure too, all things considered.
Legend gets shunted back in time. Legend needs to hide. Legend has a ring for that.
