“My setter of the day”
Kiyoomi was lying down on his couch. It was late, but he wasn’t tired enough to go to sleep yet and chose to scroll on Instagram.
Instagram was the only social media he liked to go on. He didn’t like the others much and only had Twitter because his agent forced him, and rarely logged on apart from promoting the Jackals’ games, making fun of his teammates publicly, or downloading the latest photoshoot Atsumu made for Calvin Klein.
He refuses to download TikTok even if Bokuto and stupid Miya beg him. Those two loved this social media and could spend hours scrolling on, and loved most to upload videos of themselves doing stupid things.
Sometimes, with Hinata’s help, the two idiots forced him to appear in those videos, and Kiyoomi hated that.
On Instagram, Kiyoomi didn’t follow a lot of people. His teammates, the Jackals, the national team’s official account, his cousin, and Onigiri Miya. Kioomi followed the last account only because Osamu and Rin loved to post ugly or embarrassing pictures of Atsumu.
But tonight, Kiyoomi didn’t look at pictures of one of those accounts. He looked at Hoshuimi’s recent post.
Today and for the past week, the jackals trained with the Adlers, and today, to add a little spice to the game, the coach switched some players.
On one side, Meian, Heiwajima, Romeo, Sokolov, Bokuto, Hoshiumi, Hinata and Atsumu. On the other side of the court, Hirugami, Inunaki, Barnes, Tomas, Koji, Ushijima, Kageyama, and himself.
It was strange to play without Atsumu as his setter, but even stranger to see Atsumu set for someone else.
Kiyoomi had felt the jealousy burn him, making Inunaki, Barnes, and Tomas laugh at him. The three man couldn’t stop teasing Kiyoomi, telling him how well Atsumu worked with Hoshiumi and how good their chemistry was.
Kiyoomi hated how much it affected him. He hated seeing Hoshiumi jumping in Atsumu’s arms, throwing his arm around his shoulder, or hearing Atsumu’s laugh after Hoshiumi told him a joke Kiyoomi was sure was bad.
Hoshiumi had a bad humor; everyone knew it. And no, Kiyoomi wasn’t saying that because he saw Atsumu laughing every single time Hoshiumu made a joke, while it took Kiyoomi months before hearing a genuine laugh from Atsumu. No.
Maybe.
Well, that wasn’t the problem at the moment. The problem was Hoshiumu posted five, yes five , pictures of him with Atsumu. They were either laughing, smiling, or making silly poses.
But one bothered Kiyoomi more than he would like to admit it. That picture was simple. Hoshiumi and Atsumu were side by side, their arms around each other’s shoulders, smiling. The caption bothered him, too.
My setter of the day.
How dare Hoshiumi call Atsumu his?
Kiyomi kept staring at the pictures and, against his instincts screaming at him to close the app, he looked at the comments.
He read hundreds, no, thousands, of people commenting on their love for them, telling them how good they looked together and how cute they were.
Barnes, that asshole even commented they would make a cute couple.
Tomorrow, Kiyoomi will switch the salt with the sugar before Barnes can drink his coffee. And since both Inunaki and Tomas agreed to his comments, Kiyoomi needed to prepare his revenge for them too.
Traitors. All of them.
Kiyoomi closed the comments section and looked back at the different pictures. He watched Atsumu’s smile one last time and closed the app.
He dragged his feet to the bedroom and slipped under the duvet. The bed was warm, and as he closed his eyes, he felt the mattress move.
Then he felt an arm wrap around his waist and warm feet touching his cold feet.
Atsumu buried his nose into the crook of Kiyoomi’s neck.
“Was cold without ya.”
“Sorry.”
Atsumu sighed in contentment and relaxed. Kiyoomi could feel Atsumu’s smile against his skin. “Ya okay?”
Kiyoomi hummed. Atsumu was a light sleeper thanks to growing up with a twin. He could wake up at every movement but also fall asleep everywhere in under a minute. He hoped Atsumu would believe him and go back to sleep.
Atsumu kissed his cheek. “What’s goin’ on? Ya know ya can tell me anythin’ right?”
Kiyoomi nodded. “It’s stupid. Don’t worry and go back to sleep.”
Atsumu gently turned Kiyoomi so they could face each other. Atsumu brushed some of Kiyoomi’s black curls, smiling, and Kiyoomi felt his heart skip a beat.
Fuck.
Atsumu was so beautiful.
“If it’s botherin’ ya then it’s fuckin’ not stupid babe.”
Kiyoomi looked away and felt his body burn when he realized Atsumu was wearing his jersey with the number fifteen. He started playing with Atsumu’s fingers.
“Hoshiumi posted pictures of today’s training. But it was only pictures of the two of you.”
Atsumu started smirking. “Aw, my Omi-omi is jealous? Dontcha worry, babe, you’re the only spiker of my heart.”
Atsumu captured his lips, and Kiyoomi melted in his arms. The kiss quickly escalated. Atsumu started kissing, biting, and leaving hickies on Kiyoomi’s neck.
“‘M yers Omi. My body, my heart, and soul belong to ya.”
“Me too. I’m yours, too. My body, heart, and soul are yours. My heart only beats for you.”
Atsumu captured his lips again and whispered, “I love ya.”
“I love you, too.”
They took of their shirts and the rest of their clothes followed quickly after. They spend the rest of the night loving each other, adoring their lover’s body, leaving nail marks, hickey, and bite marks. They fell asleep hours later in the comfort and warmth of their body and their love.
The next morning, Kiyoomi woke up feeling kisses on his naked skin. Before he could open his eyes, Atsumu kissed him passionately, making Kiyoomi moan.
“Good mornin’ Omi.”
“Good morning, beloved.”
Later, Atsumu will prepare breakfast, and Kiyoomi will take a picture of him. Atsumu was smiling at him, and Kiyoomi could only see love in his beautiful eyes. He was wearing his jersey as the number 15 on it could prove it, and also had hickeys and bite marks on his neck.
Kiyoomi didn’t know debated with himself on what caption he should write. He first thought of “the love of my life” and later “the man of my dreams,” but at the last second, he chose a different one.
“My setter of the day and for the rest of my life.”
Kiyoomi clicked on the post button and turned off his phone. He thought of the red velvet box hidden in his nightstand and thought that maybe today would be the day.
Today, he will ask Atsumu to spend the rest of his life with his side.
