Gabriel had just returned. He saw Sam's coat on the coat rack by the entrance, and his first instinct was to call out into the void of the bunker:
"Sammoose, where are you?"
"Somewhere!"
Gabriel recognized that tone anywhere; it was the one Sam used when he was researching a creature he'd encountered on a hunt. Gabriel followed the sound of the voice and was willing to bet all the sweets he'd eaten that morning that Sam was in the large library of the Men of Letters bunker. When he arrived at that part of the bunker, he saw the door ajar and... Bingo! His favorite human was sitting in front of his laptop, looking deep in thought. It was needless to say that, in addition to the laptop, Sam was surrounded by several piles of books.
"So, what’s the deal this time?"
"I think it’s a spirit, and Dean thinks it’s a poltergeist... Anyway, as usual, we're doing some research to determine the true nature of the supernatural apparition."
"Is it dangerous?"
"It hasn’t caused any deaths, but it’s scaring a lot of people."
"Need my help?" Gabriel offered, sitting down in a chair next to Sam. The archangel rested his head on Sam's shoulder, and Sam gave him a quick kiss on the forehead.
"We’ll manage... save the little grace you have left to finish healing from Lucifer's wound."
The rest of the afternoon passed like that, only interrupted by Dean throwing a jab at Gabriel before providing additional information from the city archives.
