You were thoughtful tonight: you were at the window of our hotel room. You always went to a window when you were deep in thought. I came up behind you and hugged you, my hands resting on your hips and your back pressed against my chest. I placed a quick kiss on your forehead before we both started gazing at the Eiffel Tower, sparkling with a thousand lights.
"What are you thinking about?" I asked, almost whispering.
"About us," you replied, taking my left hand to spin the golden ring, which you had forged with your own grace, around my ring finger. You met my concerned gaze in the reflection on the glass. "Don't worry so much, Sammoose. It's not bad thoughts crossing my mind."
I smiled before planting another kiss on your forehead. We continued watching the outside world, you still in my arms.
"How about a walk along the Seine tomorrow?" I asked.
"Only on one condition: we’ll walk holding hands, and the people who look at us funny" — you pretended to think for a moment — "we’ll act like children and stick out our tongues at them. What do you think?"
I laughed, recognizing your Trickster side. Only you and your silly antics could chase away all my worries.
