Summary
The bouncer is a large man, almost wider than the width of the double doors, gold framed and all sleek glass, his face unimpressed as he blocks Suguru’s passage.
He pulls out two cards, huffing as he lets Suguru look at them, the neon lights from the clubs all around bright enough to illuminate what's on them. “What's the message?” He grunts.
Suguru glances at them. One of them depicts a headless lamb, pierced with five swords. The other card displays a woman, hanging from a tree, a bitten apple in her left hand.
She swallows. “Loss of innocence,” Suguru forces herself to speak normally, looking at the bouncer straight in the eyes. “Death of ignorance.”
The massive man nods, like he’d expected the answer. “Pass,” he says, and steps aside to let Suguru in, pushing the doors open for her.
