Extra Sparky

Summary:

Denki has seizures when his quirk gets to be to active, unfortunately today is a bad day.

or

Denki has some bad cluster seizures and his friends take care of him.

Notes:

Okay so I love the headcannon that Denki has seizures and tics because of his quirk so I wrote a fic about it. There might be some medical inaccuracies because I'm not a doctor, just a college student who writes fanfics to cope with the world. I do however have tourettes and used to have seizures so it's a lot like what I used to go through.
Anyway Denki has Tourettes and a seizure disorder here. The tics aren't a big part of this story but I still felt like I should mention it.
Anywho enjoy!

Work Text:

Denki didn’t think it was going to be a bad day. He woke up refreshed and feeling ready for the day. He wasn’t tired at all and somehow felt way more energetic than normal. He was looking forward to the day ahead of him, but boy was he in for a surprise.

{*}

Around lunch Denki started to feel a bit off. Not more than his normal offness, but still a bit odd. He was super energetic, which he supposed was a good thing. It meant he wasn’t going to fall asleep in class, so it was a great thing.

“Denks stop kicking me.” Sero said across the table.

   “Oh yeah sorry.”

“Dunce face, what the fuck is up with you?”

“Nothing! Actually, I’m fine. I feel great!” He responded. His friends all gave him weird glances.

“Denki are you sure? You’re a bit, I don’t know, off?” Mina said.

“Yeah, I’m all good! I’m feeling more energized than normal but hey I’m not complaining.” He joked.

“Okay…” Kirishima said, sending a worried glance to the rest of the group. “Just let us know if you need something.”

“Seriously guys, I’m fine.” Mina and Kirishima looked at him with their parents' eyes and Denki laughed. “Okay I will.”

The bell rang and the crew all got up for class. In the hallway Denki met up with Jiro.

   “Hey Kam.” She greeted him.

“Hi Jio!” He replied, practically jumping.

“Whoa, you good? You’re like vibrating.”

“Yeah, I’m fine! I’m just feeling energetic, that's all.”

   “Okay, it’s just different.”

“Geez I must be super boring for all of you guys to be worried about me when I’m excited.”

“No that’s not it. You’re just, I don’t know, really energized. I’ve never seen you like this before.”

   “I’m fine really.”

   “Okay, I believe you.”

They parted ways as Jiro went to English and Denki went to Hero studies.

Halfway through class Denki had figured out what was happening. He was somehow using his quirk a small bit and it was making him jumpy and energetic. That by itself was fine, the thing that wasn’t fine was that he couldn’t stop, and if he couldn’t get it to stop soon his brain was going to get overcharged and that was not going to be fun.

He had completely given up on paying attention in class and instead was desperately trying to stop his quirk. It was not working.

Has this been happening all day? Wait, what hour was it? What class is this? Is that fan buzzing really loud or is it just him? Wait, why’s the room fuzzing?

Denki’s thoughts were buzzing through his head. Spreading through way too fast for him to process. Little lightning bolts danced throughout his blonde hair.

Kirishima sat right behind him and noticed how his friend was quite literally vibrating in his seat.

   “Denks…” He whispered.

   No response.

   “Denki.”

   Nothing.

   “Denki?”

   Still nothing.

“Denki.” Kiri hissed and kicked his classmate's chair.

   Again nothing.

Kirishima gave up. He couldn’t see that Denki was stuck in a trance, or more better classified as an absence seizure. He was drifting in and out of them now. By the time he realized it he’d already had around five. He needed to get out of this class. He really needed to get to Recovery girls office but that was on the other side of the school and down two floors. There was no way he was gonna get there by himself. He should also probably have an adult with him instead of one of his friends. As much as Denki loves and trusts his friends, he knew only a few of them knew how to properly deal/help with his bigger seizures. He needed to get to Mr. Aizawa.

His hand shot up, sending some sparks with it.

“May I go to the bathroom?” He asked. The teacher looked at him with a frown.

“We have 15 more minutes of class, can’t you wait?”

   “No ma'am.” He contradicted.

   “Fine, be quick.”

Denki raced out of the classroom. He was not going to be coming back to that class.

Denki speed-walked down the hall to his homeroom teachers room. He was willing his legs to work just long enough to make it to that room. He could do this, he could do this, just a bit further.

“Kaminari? What are you doing?” It was Midoriya, of course it was.

“Can’t talk now Midoriya sorry.” Was all Denki said before he sprinted the last few steps and flung open the door to their homeroom. As soon as he was in the room he shut the door.

Aizawa looked up from his desk in surprise.

   “Kaminari?”

“I’mgoingtohaveabigseizure.” He said all together. Thankfully somehow Aizawa understood. He spent a lot of time with Aizawa and Mic because of how close he was to Shinso. They’d even helped him through seizures at their place with him before, so he knew he could trust Aizawa.

“Okay. Come sit down.” Aizawa got up from his chair and led Denki to his desk chair. It was larger and had arm rests. Denki sat down in it before getting up out of the chair and laying down on the floor.

“Are you going to be okay there?” Denki nodded. “Okay, I’m going to call for recovery girl, you just chill out there.” Denki hummed in agreement, as his teacher walked over to the phone on his desk.

There wasn’t much Recovery girl could do for him but it’s better for her to be with them just in case. She had more medical training after all.

As Denki laid on the floor he thought about how he should’ve known this was happening earlier. He’s been having seizures due to his quirk ever since he got it when he was five. He really should’ve noticed it, it’s so stupid that he didn't. The extra emotions and self hatred resulted in his quirk activating which flipped the right switches to send him into a seizure.

Denki’s eyes glossed over as his vision went fuzzy. His hands started to twitch and shake, his legs shook and his shoes clicked together.

Aizawa calmly walked over to his student and rolled him over to his side into the recovery position. Denki’s eyes filled with extra energy turning them pure white. He shook on the floor with electricity coursing through every vein in his body. This was one of his more intense seizures. Aizawa watched in horror as blood, snot, drool, and tears streamed down the poor boy's face. He hadn’t seen it be this bad before, and the teacher wanted nothing more than to flip a switch and stop it.

After three painful minutes Denki’s body stopped shaking and his eyes stopped glowing. He let out a strangled sob. Aizawa wanted more than anything to pick him up and cradle him till he was feeling better but he couldn’t touch him until the energy around him dissipated.

Recovery Girl opened the door and immediately walked over to the pair.

   “How is he?” She asked.

“He’s had one big seizure so far, still crackling with energy so we can’t touch him yet. No obvious injuries.” Aizawa reported.

“Okay good, poor boy. Denki can you hear me?”

   Denki nodded slowly.

   “Good, are you in pain?”

   Nod.

   “Okay, can you speak?”

   Shake.

“Okay, that's fine. We can’t touch you because of the energy you have around and on you. Can you turn that off?”

Denki made a confused face and shrugged a bit.

“Okay, I’m going to have Aizawa use his quirk on you so that I can see if I can heal anything.”

“Is that okay kid?” Aizawa asked gently. Denki nodded before closing his eyes.

Aizawa activated his quirk and stared at the boy, Denki sighed in relief. Recovery Girl scanned him for injuries she could heal and only found a few. His tongue had a cut on it from being bit and his eyes were swelling from the electricity that had hit them. The rest of his pain was from the convulsions themselves. While Aizawa was still using his quirk she kissed his forehead quickly before nodding at Aizawa.

The pro-hero blinked and looked away, rubbing his eyes lightly.

“Kaminari I’ve healed everything that I can, you’ll need to take your emergency seizure meds and some pain meds. But my best advice/treatment is for you to go back to your dorm and get some sleep. Do you feel like you might have another seizure?” Recovery girl asked.

Denki thought about it for a second and then shrugged.

“Okay, let’s get you down to my office.” Denki whined, he just wanted to go back to his dorm and snuggle up in his bed and fall asleep.

“Kaminari, if you think you might have another seizure, which you usually have more than one so you’re probably right, then you should be somewhere myself or Aizawa can get to you quickly.”

“No, please… I want my bed.” He whimpered. The two adults shared a look.

“Fine, but I’m assigning someone to stay with you and I will be contacted IMMEDIATELY if you start to feel an aura, understood?” Aizawa said sternly.

   “Got it, sorry…”

“It’s fine kid, just don’t want you to get hurt. I’m going to walk you back to your dorm.” Aizawa said.

   “Okay.” Denki said.

He stood up shakily, grabbing at the desk to stay up right.

“You okay?” Aizawa asked, reaching out to catch the boy. Denki nodded in response. “Are you sure?” Denki stared blankly at his homeroom teacher.

“Kaminari, sweetie? Are you with us?” Recovery girl asked.

“Yeah, yeah I’m good.” He responded with a quick shake of his head.

“Are you sure it’s a good idea to go back to the dorms? Maybe you should spend some time resting down in the infirmary?” Recovery girl said.

“No, I want to go to the dorms. I can rest there, in my bed.” Denki replied confidently.

   “Kaminari-”

“No! I’ll be fine!” He cut his teacher off with an indigent cry.

“Alright, but I will be asking one of your friends to stay with you and I will be checking on you every so often for the rest of the night.”

“I’ll be okay, you don’t have to do that.”

“I don’t mind, maybe tonight Eri and I hangout with class 1A, for Eri of course.”

Denki hung his head, he knew he wasn’t going to win this fight.

“Okay, can you pull Sero for me?” Kami asked, Aizawa nodded.

The walk back to the dorms was uncharacteristically quiet. Aizawa could sense his student didn’t really want to converse so he just walked him back in silence.

“Thank you sensei.” Denki said while opening his dorm room door.

“No problem kid. Get some rest. I’ll send Sero over when I get back, schools’ almost out anyway.”

Denki nodded and closed his door quietly. Aizawa sighed, he was going to have to sleep in the student dorms tonight.

-.-

Kaminari had been doing relatively good. He’d napped for most of the day before Sero woke him up for supper. Which was fine, he was only a little grumpy about it.

Everyone was in the living room or the kitchen when Sero and Kaminari got there and the room was quite loud with all of their classmates talking.

“I need my headphones.” Denki whispered to Sero.

“Are they in your backpack?” Denki shrugged, not fully awake yet. His brain was still a bit fuzzy.

“Okay, I’ll find them. Mina’s on the couch with Jiro if you want to join her?” Sero said. Denki nodded and made his way over to the pink girl. He sat down and snuggled into her side right away.

“Hey, Denks, how ya feeling?” She asked, running her fingers through his hair.

“Fuzzy and it’s too loud in here.”

“Oh I’m sorry, Jiro can tell Bakugo to make them be more quiet, if you want.”

“No it’s fine, Sero’s gone to find my headphones.”

Mina nodded at Jiro anyway, she got up to go find Bakugo. After a moment the class quieted down and Sero came back with his headphones. Denki slipped them on and breathed a sigh of relief. After seizures it was common for him to have migraines and sound sensitivity.

“All right idiots, time to eat!” Bakugo said, only a bit louder than normal volume.

Everyone ate and talked quietly, laughing at each other and having a good time. Denki was hesitant to eat, because it was a curry and Bakugo’s curries were almost always spicy. On days like this spicy food was hard for him to eat.

“Hey, stupid. Yours is unseasoned, just salted.” Katsuki said pointedly looking at Denki.

“Oh, thanks.” He began to eat slowly. He also wasn’t very hungry. “Is Shinso coming over today?”

Izuku piped up, “he’s working on a group assignment for a few hours and then he was planning on it, I think.”

   Denki nodded, “thanks Mido.”

“Of course. Ochaco and I were thinking about watching a film tonight since it's Friday. Ribbit, maybe we'll do a class movie night?” Tsu said calmly. The rest of the class agreed and they began discussing which movie to watch.

Denki had started to get more tired so he decided to excuse himself from the table.

“I’m gonna put this away for later, I’m not really hungry. Thanks for the food Bakugo.”

“Yeah, whatever.” Bakugo replied, not looking up from his phone.

Bakugo: keep an eye on denks

Kiri: yeah he’s lookin a bit rough

Mina: yeah I will

Mina followed Denki into the kitchen, taking her own mostly finished plate. Denki was staring off into the abyss of the tupperware cupboard.

“Whatcha doing there Denks?” She said, taking a casual bite of her food. “Denki, deennnkkiiiiiii.”

“Huh?” He shook his head and turned to look at her, slipping his headphones off.

“I asked what you were doing.”

“Oh! I didn’t hear you, um I was getting a container for my food.”

“Uh huh, and debating life choices or…”

“I just zoned out for a sec, I’m fine.”

“Okie dokie, it’s fine if you’re not though.” She shrugged, placing her dish in the dishwasher.

   “I know, I’m good.”

“Okie, are you gonna watch the movie with us?”

“Oh yeah, maybe. My head kinda hurts though tonight so maybe not.”

“Okay, that's chill. Do you wanna have a spa night? We can go sit in the sauna and chill or do skin care and shit.”

“Yeah maybe. I kinda just want a chill night in my room. Maybe we work on those coloring pages you got.” Mina squealed happily.

“OMG! Yes we so should!! I bet if we asked Momo would let us use her glitter pins! Oh YAMAMOMO my love!” Mina shrieks as she runs over to her classmate.

Denki winced and slipped his headphones back on. He loved his friends but they couldn’t stay quiet if their lives depended on it. Which is funny seeing as some of them wanted to be underground heroes, or just heroes in general. He finished boxing up his food and popping it into the fridge before he made his way back to the living room. He walked over to where Sero was talking to Shoto about something and wrapped Sero in a hug from behind and just leaned against him.

“Hey there Denks.” Sero said, holding onto his arms. “How’s life?”

   “Hmpf.”

   “Preach.” Sero replied.

“Kaminari, are you feeling okay?” Shoto asked with concern heavy in his voice.

“Mmmm, fine.” Denki muffled into Sero’s back.

“It’s okay to be over the weather as momo says.” Shoto replies.

“It’s feeling under the weather, Sho.” Sero said with a chuckle and Denki giggled.

   “Oh.”

   “It’s close enough.” Denki comments.

“Okay good.” Shoto says, with a nod.

Sero turned Denki around so he could properly hug him and rocked them slowly.

“Do you want to come play games with Shoto and I?”

Denki shook his head, “Mina and I are gonna color for a bit.”

“Oh okay chill. You gonna be okay? Don’t feel seizurey anymore?”

“I’ll be fine, just left overs, it's fine.”

   “You sure?”

   “Yes, dad.”

   Sero pinched denki.

A few hours later Shinso texted the group chat saying he was staying for a family movie night and wouldn’t be joining them tonight after all. Mina, Aoyama, and Denki colored for most of the night in Mina’s room. Around 10:30pm Aoyama left to go do his bedtime routine and Denki climbed into Mina’s bed.

“Excuse me? I know you’re not stealing my bed and making me clean all this up.” Mina said as sassy as ever.

“Hmmm, so warm.” Denki sighs, burrowing into her pink duvet. “So so sleepy.” He then started to snore.

Mina threw her slipper at his head.

“Owww! How dare you?!” Denki gasped with mock horror.

“I will not hesitate to throw your ass outta my bed.” She says, hands on her hips.

Denki gasps again, this time throwing his hand over his heart. “You wouldn’t!”

“Oh I will!” Mina launched herself towards the bed and began to tickle Denki mercilessly until he shrieked for her to stop.

After defeating Mina and escaping from her bed, Denki laughed and put his hands on his knees, bending over to breathe.

“You good?” Mina asks, catching her breath as well. Denki nodded and put a finger up.

“Yeah, just fine. Just-huh-huh-ha outta bref.” He panted. “Sometimes after seizures my lungs get funky.”

Mina sat up quickly. “Do you need to lay down?”

   “No no, I’m fine.”

   “Do you feel an aura?”

   “I’m fine.”

   “Denki-”

“MINA! I said I’m fine!” He shouted.

Mina shrunk back a little. “I’m sorry.”

“No no no, it’s fine. I’m sorry.” Denki rushes. Going back to join Mina on the bed. “I don’t know why I get so upset about it.” He snuggles into Mina with a huff.

“It’s okay Kami, I think I get it. I promise you’re not burdening me or anyone else. I’m worried about you because I love you, okay?”

“Okay.” Denki squeaked out. “Can I sleep over tonight?”

“Of course darling. Go get your pjs and meds. Grab your brush and I’ll do your hair.”

— — —

Kaminari slept through the night and half-way through the day. He woke up to a dim pink room. His eyes darted around for a second trying to find out why the room was pink before seeing the vanity and posters and pink curtains and remembering he spent the night with Mina. He looked around for her and did not see anyone. He did however glance at his phone and saw the time, 11:28am. Way later than he usually wakes up, but it was a saturday. Secondly he realized his body felt very heavy and his mind felt floaty.

Not a good sign,  he thought. He tried to sit up but when he did the world spun around him.  Okay, stay laying down, call Aizawa.  Denki fumbled with his phone trying to open it. His hands were shaking so much that his thumbprint wouldn't and his foggy brain couldn’t recall his password.  Alright, situation is bad getting worse. Just gotta get off this bed.

Denki tried in vain to get his body to corporate and roll off the bed but all did was get rolled onto his side. His body was numb and tingling now, he was definitely going to have a grand mal in a few minutes.

The door creaked open as Mina and Kirishima crept in.

“He was all scrunched up and trembling, should we call Aizawa?” Mina whispered to Kirishima as they approached the bed.

Denki’s pupils were wide and twitching ever so slightly and his body was shoved into the mattress.
“Oh shit, he’s definitely having a seizure. Call Aizawa!” Kirishima directed. He crouched next to the bed and tried to move Denki into a better position. “Grab some towels and a plastic bag, sometimes he throws up after big ones, and Bakugo.” He called out to Mina.

Denki continued to stare at the ceiling and tremble. Suddenly he gasped and his body clenched and unclenched. His head was thrown back and he made gasping noises from the back of his throat.

“Breathe buddy, breathe. It’s okay, you’re going to be okay. Just try to keep breathing.”

Denki let out a wet gurgle as spit pooled in his mouth. Kiri was quick to shove his head to the side in an effort to stop him from choking. Tears streaked down Denki’s face as he contracted even more. Wet gasps coming from his shaking mouth.

“I got you Denks, it’s okay. Just breathe. I’m right here.” Kirishima reassured, he began to softly hum one of his mothers lullabies to him.

A few moments later Mina and Bakugo came rushing into the room. Bakugo flipped the lights on and walked over to Kiri and Denki. Bakugo immediately handed Kirishima the towel and yanked the blankets off him.

   “How long?”

“Two minutes and a half since we got here, I have no idea how long he was like this before. He’s not very sparky right now though.”

“Ashido, how long till Aizawa gets here?”

   “A minute or so.”

“I’m leaving right now, I’m maybe three minutes out.”  Aizawa’s voice came over Mina’s phone.  “I’ve sent the emergency code to Recovery Girl, have someone meet her in the lobby and tell her it’s Denki.”

“Okay, I will.” Mina said, handing her phone to Bakugo.

Denki’s body finally relaxed and he shut his eyes. Kirishima got the vomit bag ready.

“Mmm don’t feel good.” He whined softly.

“I know buddy. It’s okay.” Kirishima comforted Denki just curled further into his lap.

“Hey sparks, are you going to have another?” Bakugo asked. Denki shrugged into Kirishima’s lap.

   “Mm buzzy.” He slurred.

“That’s a yes.”  Aizawa spoke up.  “I’m almost there. Who’s room again?”

   “Mina’s.” Bakugo said.

Denki’s body jerked and he whistled half heartedly. He whimpered slightly.

“Hang on, it’s alright.” Kirishima ran his fingers through Denki’s hair. “Just keep breathing, in and out.”

Denki tried to focus on his breathing. He took a gasp in and spluttered on the exhale. His body twitched miserably and Denki felt his eyes slide back and he began to seize again.

   “He’s seizing again.”

“Be careful of his quirk. I’m coming up the stairs.”

A moment later Aizawa burst through the door and sprinted to the bed.

“Good job you two. Bakugo go grab another towel and a glass of water with a straw. Kiri keep him on his side. We just have to wait it out.”

Bakugo left as Recovery girl came in with Mina. Aizawa updated her and she got out her emergency kit.

“I’ll give him a shot of his emergency quirk meds first and hopefully it’ll stop on its own.” She said readying the shot. After cleaning the area in his leg she injected the quirk med, after ten seconds she pulled it out.

Denki continued to shake for another forty seconds.

“Oh sweetie.” Chiyo sighed. Denki’s body gave in with a loud sigh. He was still trembling, but he was looking around scared.

“It’s okay kid. You’re safe, you’re in your friend Mina’s room at UA highschool. I’m Aizawa, your teacher, and Recovery girl and your friends Kirishima, Mina, and Bakugo are with us.”

   “‘Zawa?”

   “Yeah, it’s me kid.”

   “Don’t feel good.” Denki murmurs.

“I know bud, do you think you could get some rest? Do you want to go to your room?”

   Denki shook his head. “Cold.”

“Okay, that’s fine. My house? I can call Hizashi to drive over and get us?”

Denki shook his head again, this time groaning.

   “I feel sick…”

“Are you gonna vomit?” Aizawa asked, reaching for the bag. This time Denki nodded and gagged. Aizawa shoved the bag under his head as Denki gagged and gagged, until the little he ate last night came out.

Bakugo and Kiri were standing at the doorway while Mina turned away.

“You three can go, we’ve got it.” Recovery Girl says with a smile. “We’ll update you later.”

Aizawa continued to comfort Denki as he moved on to dry heaving.

“Shouta, lets move him to the floor. I’m worried he’ll seize again and urinate and I’d like to spare Miss Ashido’s bed if possible.” Chiyo said, laying the extra towels down.

Aizawa nodded, “okay, kiddo. Think you’re done?”

Denki leaned back and gasped for air.

“Hey shhhh, none of that. Just breathe through your nose. You got this.” After his breathing had evened out Denki collapsed with exhaustion.

“Alright, I’m going to move you to the floor.” Denki whined. “I’ll be here the whole time, it’s okay.”

Aizawa gently placed Denki on the ground.

   “How do you feel dearie?”

   “Bad.” Denki slurred.

“Do you feel like your quirk might be working too much?”

“Mmm too sparky… ‘m gonna be sick!” Denki leaned over Aizawa's lap and gagged again. Chiyo thrust another vomit bag under his chin just in time. As Denki heaved his body trembled.

“Sparky…” He whispered, right before his body exploded into energy, and he began to tremble again.

Aizawa lept back and glanced at Chiyo who did the same.

“Let it pass, we don’t want to interrupt the brain so drastically yet. I’m going to run back and get his emergency seizure meds. It seems he is out. He’ll be alright.”

With that Chiyo walked out and called for Ida. Aizawa chuckled at her making Ida be her personal taxi, but he knew that the boy didn’t mind.

“Okay Kami, it’s alright just breathe. Try to find your control. I know you can do it.” Aizawa stopped the timer again as Denki’s body sagged and he whimpered. “There we go. You’re doing so well.” He soothed. “I’m going to have Hizashi come and we’re gonna bring you over from some rest and meds, okay?” He asked not really caring for a response. He typed out a message quickly and sighed in relief when his husband instantly responded.

Yamada :  Okay, I've got the kids tagging along. Eri’s clinging to me

Aizawa sighed. He’d rather his daughter not come along but there were just day’s that she wouldn’t let either of them out of her sight. He turned off his phone and focused back on Denki.

Tears leaked out of the side of Kaminari's eyes. His head hurt so much and he just wanted to be held but the electricity he was admitting was preventing anyone from touching him.

   “‘Zawa, hurts.” He whimpered pitifully.

“I know bud, can you turn off your quirk?” the blonde thought for a second before his brain started to hurt too much. His eyes blurred and the tears started flowing faster.

   “That’s okay, shhh.”

“m gonna seize ‘gain…” his voice trailed off as his body went rigid and his hands began to jerk.

Mic, Eri, and Hitoshi picked that moment to show up.

   “Oh kami.” Mic said quietly.

“Dad?” Hitoshi asked, silently asking for a health report.

“This is the third one in a row, he's still putting out too much electricity for us to touch him. I'm worried that using my quirk on him will stun his body and he'll have an even worse seizure. So we need to just wait it out.”

Hizashi put his arm around Shinso who had also gone rigid.

   “He’ll be okay.”

“‘Zawa?” The little girl said in a small voice.

   “What’s up sweetie?”

“Can i- um- can-” She closed her eyes in frustration and just held her arms out. Aizawa motioned to switch places with Hitoshi, trusting his son would be able to watch over his student for a minute, and walked over and engulfed Eri in a hug.

   “Is Kami gonna be okay?”

“Yeah he will be. I’ll take care of him.” She nodded, looking back at the now still boy on the floor.

“He stopped, almost two minutes long. Still a force field of electricity around him.” Hitoshi reported back, Shouta nodded. Eri buried her head into Aizawa’s stomach, whimpering a little.

“It’ll be okay Eri, I’ve got it. Why don’t you go hang out with Midorya for a bit.”

“Okay… but can I still come home tonight?”

“Yes of course. We can even have some ice cream tonight if you want.” The little girl beamed up at him, and gave him a quick hug again.

“Okay! I’ll go find ‘Zuku!” With that she dashed out.

Kaminari was coming back around now, still unable to touch him; they couldn’t move him onto his side. He gagged a little and turned his head to the side, tears falling quickly from his eyes.

“Shh it’s okay. You’re gonna be okay.” Hitoshi soothed. Kaminari gagged again and this time a bit of bile came out and he sobbed more forcefully now.

“Dad, can you turn his quirk off?”

“I’m worried that’ll set off another seizure.” Denki heaved and sobbed again, reaching for Hitoshi who had to dodge the electricity that came surging from his fingertips.

“Dad, he needs me.” Hitoshi pleaded, Shouta groaned but relented. Staring intently at the boy he watched as the electricity immediately dissipated.

Hitoshi moved towards the blonde and pulled him into his lap, petting his head and whispering soothing words to him. Denki kept sobbing and shaking his head back and forth.

   “Shhh, it’s okay, shhh.”

   “Hurts!”

   “I know sweetheart, I know.”

“M going again.” Denki whimpered pitfully as his head sagged to the side and his back seized up. His head was angled back into Hitoshi’s lap and his neck muscles strained. It got more violent by the second, until Hitoshi couldn’t keep him on his lap. Foamy spit dripped out of his mouth as he grunted in pain. A growing pool of urine joined the already soaked towel. Hitoshi yelped in surprise and concern. He shot a panicked look to his dads.

“This is what I was afraid of.” Shouta sighed. “Hizashi, send a message to Chiyo to hurry up, and grab some more towels. Hitoshi switch with me.”

Hizashi left and Shouta moved to keep a hand on Denki, keeping him to his side.

“It’s okay kid, almost over, just a bit longer. You’re okay, I’ve got you.”

“I’ve never seen it this bad before.”

   “I have. He’ll be okay.”

“Are you sure,” Hitoshi paused his nervous ramble to sniffle.

“Yes, once Chiyo gets here with the meds it should stop them and he’ll be able to rest.” Shouta replied. There were more sniffles from where Hitoshi was standing behind him. “Why don’t you go find Bakugo, Kirishima and Mina. Tell them that he’s still seizing and we’re taking him back to our house, okay? I’ve got it, I promise.”

   “Okay, I love you.”

“Love you too, maybe check on Eri while you’re at it.”

Hitoshi nodded and slipped out of the door, stopping to give Hizashi a hug on the way.

Hizashi and Chiyo entered the room together.

“Roll up his sleeve.” She ordered, pulling the cap off a needle.

Shouta did as he was told and watched as the nurse injected Denki once again.

“Okay, it should stop in a few seconds.”

Shouta nodded, rubbing under his eyes.

“Are you doing okay?” HIzashi asked, rubbing his husbands shoulders lightly.

“Fine. I’ll need my eye drops when-”

Chiyo held out a small bottle to Shouta.

“I couldn’t find this, it seems you’ve taken most of my extras. That’s why it took me so long.”

Shouta smiled softly. Even all these years later she was still taking care of them.

“Thank you Chiyo.” He said with sensarity. Hizashi took the bottle and gently dripped the medicine into Shouta’s open eyes. They had done this multiple times while working with Eri when she first came to them.

Denki’s body sagged and he whimpered softly.

“Shh, it’s okay. We’re right here with you, it’s okay.” Hizashi said softly.

   “‘Zawa?”

   “I’m here kid.”

“Think it's done.” Shouta finally took his eyes off Denki and rubbed them gently.

“I hope so. We gave you a quirk suppressant and your emergency shot, so your arm is going to be a bit sore.” Shouta said.

“How are you feeling dear?” Chiyo asked.

   “Tired, ‘nd cold.”

“Do you think you could sit up? We’re going to take you back to our house, but you’re going to want to change.” Aizawa asked.

Denki’s face turned red with embarrassment.

“Oh my god, I’m in Mina’s room.”

Hizashi chuckled. “It’s okay, she won’t mind.”

   “I can’t believe I peed myself in my best friend's room…”

“You had a cluster seizure that was crazy intense, it’s okay.”

   “I guess. Help me up?”

Shouta and Hizashi helped him to his feet, holding on to his waist when he wobbled. Chiyo checked him over and after a minute declared he was okay and just needed to rest. She gave Shouta some doses of his seizure meds just in case.

“Your quirk should be back by Monday, dear. Take it easy.” Denki saluted the woman before she shuffled out of the room.

“I grabbed some pajamas and a towel, you can shower at our place if you’re feeling up to it.” Hizashi said, handing him the towel and placing the clothes on the bed.

“Okay, let me grab some things. I’m so tired, I just want to sleep with Hitoshi for a bit.”

“That’s fine kiddo. We just want to keep an eye on you, and figured our house would be better than the infirmary.”

“You go grab your stuff and change, and we’ll clean up in here.” Aizawa said.

After Denki got changed he packed his backpack quickly before making his way to Kirishima’s room.

   “Hey guys…”

“DENKI!” Mina shouted and lept up to give him a hug. Kirishima and Bakugo stayed in their spots cuddled on Kiri’s bed but they both nodded in acknowledgement.

“Hey Denks.” Kiri said. “Are you feeling better?”

“Yeah, just tired and sore. I’m sorry.”

Mina batted his shoulder lightly. “Shut the fuck up. You have nothing to apologise for, it’s not like you wanted this to happen.”

   “Yeah true. Where’s Hitoshi?”

“Deku’s, the punk didn’t want us.”

“Katsuki! He was hanging out with Izuku and Eri in Izuku’s room. Eri needed him, it's not that he didn’t want to hang out.” Kiri explained.

“Oh okay.” Denki yawned. “I’m going over to Aizawa’s house for the weekend. See ya later.”

Mina kissed his cheek and gave him one last hug.

   “Okay, love you!”

“Love you too.” He said before making his way to Izuku’s room. He was barely awake and just wanted to sleep.

Knocking on the door, he pushed it open. He barely got in the room before being nearly tackled by a silvered haired girl.

   “Kami! You’re okay.”

   “Yeah, I’m good.”

“I was so worried!” She gasps, tears obvious in her soft voice.

“I’m sorry for worrying you. I’m okay now, your dads took good care of me.”

“That’s what they do!” She chirped up.

Izuku and Hitoshi were on the floor cleaning up playing cards.

“Thanks for helping with Eri.” Hitoshi said quietly to Izuku.

“Of course. Get Denki home, he looks like he could fall asleep at any moment.”

“That’s the plan. Okay, Eri, let's go home. Maybe we can watch some movies together?”

“Kay! Kami are you coming over? Daddy said we could have ice cream tonight!”

“Oooh ice cream, well now I have to. Never pass up free ice cream!” The blonde chuckled. She didn’t have to know he was already planning on coming over.

“Yippee! Papa says ice cream can fix anything, maybe it’ll fix your seizures!”

“Maybe.” Denki smiled at the beaming girl.

“And we can watch Moana!” Eri jumped up and down before pulling Denki along towards her parents.

Denki was asleep before they even turned the tv on, curled up in a fuzzy blanket on Hitoshi’s lap.

Notes:

I hope you liked it! I'll most likely be making a series of my favorite characters with medical issues like this. It's literally just gonna be me projecting onto my favorite characters lol. It'll probably be from a bunch of different fandoms. Maybe I'll actually finish some of my wip... I started this like years ago lol
