   Summary

   Himiko Toga was not planning on living. She really wasn’t. She had given all of her blood away, and she could not see how she was going to survive this.

   She really didn’t want to live, either, not like this. She was going to die on her own terms.

   Her brain was still abuzz when she heard a persistently dull beep push through.

   The calm thrum of static was shot through and pain filled her head, pushing at her skull, and Himiko’s eyes snapped open.

   Himiko survives and is enrolled at UA, but the path to “heroism” is much harder to get through when you’re starting at the bottom and never planned a life past seventeen.
