"Why can't I see your face?"
The words brought his attention back to the man pointing a gun at him. Ogata blinked. Baffling as the question should be, the answer was clear to him.
"I don't know what it looks like anymore."
Another beat of hesitation -maybe pity- crossed over Sugimoto's face, his feral animosity immediately smothered by concern. "What happened to you?"

The ache of a grin split across Ogata's face.
"You tell me," he taunted, moving in past the gun to lean close. The man's scent was just as warm and enticing as when they'd fought, and there was a special satisfaction in watching those brilliant eyes go wide in alarm. "The last thing I remember about it is you, Sugimoto The Immortal."There was an undeniable spark when Ogata met the man who nearly killed him.
He may not think much of love or fate, but something about his dreams since then has him wondering if there was more to the connection than simple one-sided infatuation.
