Work Text:
If anyone asks, it was desperation that started all of this.
“Lu Guang…”
But he wonders, when did everything change? Is it all the time they spent together?
“Forget about the Drama Club! Join the Media Club instead!”
As he looked at the beautiful grey eyes widening in surprise, he could say for sure that no matter how things started, he could never regret this moment right here.
“Please, I’m begging you here, Liu Xiao!”
Liu Xiao only looks at Cheng Xiaoshi with his hand clasped in front of him with a freshly prepared instant noodle being presented like some sort of offering. Liu Xiao smiles with his usual neutral look and pushes the instant noodle away from him.
“Cheng Xiaoshi, I would expect a better payment than this if you are really intent on interviewing our star performer.”
“This is all I could afford!” Cheng Xiaoshi resorted bowing his head as low as the table allows him to. “Please! If I didn’t get this scoop then Qiao Ling would put my head on a platter and THAT would be our latest scoop!”
“My, wouldn’t that be interesting to see.” Liu Xiao chuckles but Cheng Xiaoshi can’t find it in him to laugh along, knowing what lies in his future if he doesn’t manage to convince Liu Xiao; the vice-president and the recruiter of Guidu University Drama Club for this project.
As a member of the Guidu University Media Club, they would often rotate every month on whose turn it is to find the next big scoop. And due to his strong desire, pride, and a bit of challenge from Xu Shanshan, that’s what brings him here now, begging Liu Xiao for permission for a scoop on the star member of the Drama Club; Xia Fei.
“I’ll tell you what, I do like that naive part of you, Cheng Xiaoshi,” Cheng Xiaoshi had to bite back a retort on that one. “So, if you manage to do one favor for me, then I’ll let you interview for how long you want and take as many pictures as you need.”
“Really?” His eyes brightened up at this and he excitedly shook hands with Liu Xiao. “Uh, you won’t ask for something impossible like walking on a tightrope or traveling back in time, right?”
“I’m really curious about how I look in your eyes, Cheng Xiaoshi.” Liu Xiao releases his hand from Cheng Xiaoshi’s clasps and smiles with his infamous scheming smile. “There’s just someone I want you to convince to join the Drama Club, and I’m quite positive you might be able to convince him.”
For being a mere university club, surprisingly the Guidu University Drama Club is quite famous for its quality performance, thanks to the three powerful individuals at the center of the club;
Xia Fei; is the main star and the face of the Drama Club. His beautiful face is what first caught everyone’s attention, even Qiao Ling which is what caused this whole thing to happen in the first place.
Liu Xiao , vice-president of the Drama Club and the main recruiter of the club . He apparently has an intensive network of all the university students, which is how he knows which student is suitable for the club.
And lastly, Vein; the president of the Drama Club is known for his eccentricities and efficiency in leading the club. Honestly, he looks a bit menacing but he's really a chill guy once you talk to him, ignoring the weird he would talk about meat.
For Liu Xiao to be interested enough in someone to be invited to the Drama Club, this person must be someone remarkable, another star who could shine as brightly as Xia Fei.
The person in front of him right now isn't quite what he was expecting.
He was sitting at the corner of the library, hiding from plain sight and away from the crowd. If it wasn't for his unique and eye-catching shock of white hair, Cheng Xiaoshi might have missed him entirely. His demeanor shows reserves as his cool grey eyes are focused on the book in front of him, ignoring his surroundings as if he's the only one there.
But, his face definitely is definitely one that could attract anyone's attention. Pale, clear face with sharp eyes and soft lips; he could definitely see why Liu Xiao would be interested in recruiting someone this beautiful to the Drama Club.
Lu Guang; a literature major and the same year as him, somehow is interesting enough to be the target of Liu Xiao's interest.
No hard feelings, student Lu Guang. It's for the sake of his club and to not be dropkick by Qiao Ling .
Taking a deep breath, Cheng Xiaoshi plastered his usual friendly smile and began approaching the lone table. "Hey there! Is there anyone sitting here?"
"..."
Huh. Maybe he didn't hear him the first time? He tried again, "Hey there, I—"
"If you want to sit, just sit." Lu Guang's eyes never leave the book as he speaks. "And no talking in the library unless it's absolutely necessary."
Cheng Xiaoshi grits his teeth at the boy's response but his smile begrudgingly stays on his face. 'It's for the scoop, do it for the scoop.'
"Ahaha then don't mind me sitting here then." He took a seat in front of the white-haired boy whose eyes were still annoyingly glued to the book and continued. "So, what kind of books are you—"
"I thought I already told you to only speak when it is necessary." he finally closes his book, not without putting his grey bookmark in first and those steely grey eyes finally look at Cheng Xiaoshi. "And tell Liu Xiao that no matter who he sends, I won't change my mind."
Cheng Xiaoshi grew stiff at that. He hasn't even started the first step yet and his plan is already ruined!? No, it can't end like this! "Wait, just hear me out—!"
"Sshh!"
He ducked his head shamefully as the librarian put her finger in front of her mouth. Lu Guang is now looking at him annoyedly. "I think I've made myself clear. If you have nothing else to say then please leave."
It's surprising how he can't keep a polite tone even when Cheng Xiaoshi can tell that he's getting pissed. "Aww, come on, I need your help here! My pride and my butt is on the line here! You could just pretend to be in the Drama Club just until I got my scoop and then you can just leave them."
"Do you think that they would just let me leave easily just like that?" Lu Guang clicks his tongue and moves closer to Cheng Xiaoshi, close enough that he can notice how long his eyelashes are. Oh, both his eyelashes and eyebrows are dark, but his hair looks natural. He wonders if Lu Guang—
"—and trust me, there are other more interesting you could interview. I'm telling you this for your own sake, don't get involved with those weirdos from Drama Club, and—are you even listening right now?"
Cheng Xiaoshi snaps his attention back to Lu Guang as the other taps his fingers on the table, waiting for Cheng Xiaoshi's response. He shook his head and put his hands together in a begging manner , "I've already told the boss that I'm going to get an exclusive scoop on Xia Fei as the ace of the Drama Club. Please help a brother out here, Mr Lu sir!"
Lu Guang leans back and crosses his arms. "And what's in it for me? You'd get your scoop, Liu Xiao finally managed to trap me in his little band of circus and I got...?"
"...one month's supplies of cup noodles?"
"...I'm leaving."
"Wait! I can change it into three months—"
Suffice it to say, their first meeting leaves a lot to be desired.
"Doing your essay alone at the park, handsome?"
Lu Guang only looks at him impassively. "Cheng Xiaoshi." he let out a deep sigh which made him sound much older than he was supposed to be. "How many no's will make you realize that my answer will stay the same and leave me alone?"
"One thing that you don't know about me is that I'm very persistent!"
"...I noticed that."
"But also I didn't expect to see you out here. I'd expect that you'd be the type to coop up in a room and have to be dragged out forcefully to see the outside world."
"You made me sound like a shut-in." Lu Guang's grip on his pen loosens as he rests his head on his hand. "The sun shines perfectly here. It's not too blinding, and the warmth is perfect for a quick nap."
Cheng Xiaoshi chuckles at that. 'He's just like a cat.'
He took out the bag of cookies he got from Qiao Ling earlier today and offered it in front of Lu Guang. "Well, surely you could study better if you got some snacks, right?"
Lu Guang looks at the cookies suspiciously. "Are you trying to bribe me? I'll have you know that it'll take more than a cookie to make me join Liu Xiao's cult of weirdos."
"I'm not that slow! Sheesh." Cheng Xiaoshi grumbles and pushes the cookies more toward Lu Guang. "And you kept finding out more creative ways to rename the Drama Club. Do you have a list for it or something?"
"Or something." It might be a trick of the light but did Cheng Xiaoshi see a small smile appearing on Lu Guang's face there? Lu Guang reaches out to take a cookie, to Cheng Xiaoshi's delight. "Thanks for the cookies, I guess. But I'm afraid my answer will stay the same."
"Man, you're one tough nut to crack." Cheng Xiaoshi took one cookie for himself and ignored the scowl on Lu Guang's face as he spoke while chewing on the cookie in one bite. "Why are you so persistent on not joining the Drama Club anyway? What did Liu Xiao ever do to you for you to be so allergic towards the club?"
"I don't really have anything against the club per se." Lu Guang took a small bite of the cookie before continuing. "Liu Xiao is another thing entirely but acting is just something that I don't ever want to do again."
Again? "Have you acted before?"
Immediately Lu Guang's expression grew cold and his heart seemed to have shut down as he began gathering his stuff. "I have to go." He nods, polite as ever even when he seems annoyed. "Thanks for the cookies, but you're wasting your time with me."
"Ah, Lu Guang wait—" but the white-haired boy had already scuttle away like a cat who got frightened by a human coming close to him. Cheng Xiaoshi sighs.
What kind of rabbit hole is he stumbling upon now?
"Lu Guang?" Qiao Ling looks up from her laptop briefly before continuing with her work. "Well, I've heard some of the girls talk about him in my class every now and then. We're in different departments though so all I've heard about are that he's pretty good-looking and that's about it."
"That's about it huh?" He pouts as he continues to scroll through his phone. "And there's nothing about him on the school website or on any social media. It's like he's a ghost! How did Liu Xiao even find out about him in the first place?"
"You're so serious about this Lu Guang guy. Is there any reason for that?"
He straightened up and shook his head. "Nope! No reason at all!"
"Really?" Qiao Ling is staring at him intently now and he can feel himself sweating nervously. "So, Cheng Xiaoshi, how is the progress with the scoop with the Drama Club star that you promised?"
"It's...getting there?"
"Are you answering me or questioning me?"
"Oh my, won't you look at the time!" Cheng Xiaoshi stood up and looked at his imaginary watch. "I can't miss this next class! Gotta go now Qiao Ling- jie , see you later!"
"You don't have any more class after this—hey, Cheng Xiaoshi!"
Lu Guang... How do you write that exactly?
Despite their last meeting at the park ending quite awkwardly, Cheng Xiaoshi finds himself finding Lu Guang a lot in between classes despite them not sharing any electives. He wonders why he never noticed the white-haired boy before and why he could easily find him now.
Lu Guang... why does that name feel familiar somehow?
Sometimes it feels like Cheng Xiaoshi is getting further and further away from his goal. Conversations with Lu Guang had become less about the Drama Club and more about their personal interests. Cheng Xiaoshi had found out that on top of Lu Guang being similar to a cat, he's also a big fan of cats, despite his constant denial. And despite not eating much, he seems to enjoy various types of food and is not much of a picky eater.
Lu Guang too becomes less prickly when the topic is anything but the Drama Club and Liu Xiao. In fact, Cheng Xiaoshi would go as far as to say that he seems to be enjoying their conversations, given that he no longer runs away so quickly and even asks questions on his own toward Cheng Xiaoshi.
Lu Guang... oh?
His thumb hovers on the screen when a picture catches his eye. More specifically, a picture of a white-haired boy who seems to be no older than 7 years old staring at the camera with a shy smile on his face as he's holding a hand with an older man who seems to be his father.
'Rising Child Star Stealing The Hearts of Many!'
Oh.
So that explains Liu Xiao's interest.
The day Cheng Xiaoshi learns how Lu Guang's name was written is also the day he finds out about his friend(?)'s identity.
No wonder the name seems familiar. A few years ago he remembers the people at his primary school gushing about a cute actor who appears on the popular evening drama. The writing was different but the pronunciation was the same. It's no wonder Lu Guang seems both familiar and unknown at the same time .
Looking at Lu Guang now, he couldn't help but coo a little at the differences that time had brought him. The little boy in the picture had cute chubby cheeks, and wide eyes and seemed so shy by the way he's always grabbed onto something in every picture, mostly the sleeves of the older man whom he presumes is Lu Guang's father.
"Hey, Lu Guang," Lu Guang's eyes are still glued on his book but he lets out a slight hum to tell that he's listening. "Please don't be mad at me but... is the reason Liu Xiao is so persistent on recruiting you because you were an actor before this?"
It's like time has stopped with how quiet everything is. Cheng Xiaoshi didn't dare to look into Lu Guang's eyes and feels like forever before Lu Guang said anything.
"Did Liu Xiao tell you anything?"
"No! He didn't say anything!" In fact, it feels like it's been so long since his conversation with Liu Xiao regarding their agreements. "I just... Kinda stumble upon some articles, and it's like 'Wow! This kid looks familiar' and who else would have white hair which by the way really is natural huh? I would have thought—"
"You can stop talking now." Lu Guang's expression is unreadable as puts his grey bookmark between the pages and puts down his book. "I would have thought that Liu Xiao would tell you eventually but of course, that guy would remain cryptic."
Cheng Xiaoshi stays silent as he waits for Lu Guang to continue. "...But yes, I did some acting gig before. It was only for a few years though, and I would have thought that people would have forgotten about me by now."
"I... see..." Cheng Xiaoshi twiddles with his thumbs as he considers his next question carefully. "So uh, why did you quit acting? I watched some of the drama clips and you were really good !"
"Urgh, you watched it?" Lu Guang groans and covers his face with his palm. "If I could I would have erased the drama entirely , and all the commercials during that time."
"You did commercials too!?"
Lu Guang's ears seem to turn red as he glares at Cheng Xiaoshi from between his fingers. "If you searched them up I'll make sure your boba is 50 percent ice."
"You can't do that!" he frowns and looks at Lu Guang suspiciously. "Can you? But back to the topic!"
Cheng Xiaoshi looks at him softly, "Only if you're uncomfortable of course but really, why did you quit?"
Lu Guang's eyes darted somewhere as he crossed his arms and began speaking softly, "It's because..."
"Because...?"
Lu Guang sighs, "It's cutting out my cartoon time."
"...Huh!?"
"Like I said, it's cutting out my cartoon time." Lu Guang huffs and shakes his head. "Shootings are always after school, right when Super Kentai was airing which really pisses me off."
"You know that you could record it, right?"
Lu Guang looked offended at that as he shook his head harder. "It's a totally different feeling. So right after the drama ended, I just decided to stop acting entirely. End of story."
"Just like that?"
Lu Guang nods. "Just like that."
"How do I say this...uh..." Cheng Xiaoshi covers his face and for a second Lu Guang tenses up before he notices Cheng Xiaoshi trembling and a loud, cheerful laugh bursts out of him.
"What the heck? Oh my gosh, you were such a petty kid! That's such an adorable reason!" Cheng Xiaoshi is laughing so hard that there are tears in his eyes. "Oh, I can imagine you pouting because you missed out on an episode!"
Lu Guang could only stare at Cheng Xiaoshi with bewilderment as the older continued to laugh freely. He can feel his face becoming warmer and his mouth slowly forms a small smile.
"I did pout a lot." Lu Guang started as Cheng Xiaoshi's laughter died down. "My dad would try his best to calm me down by giving me candies and boba but I'm still annoyed that I missed out on an episode."
"You never tried to sneak out or something to watch it."
"Well, I did try this one time—"
"Qiao Ling- jie , that looks heavy. How about I help you out?"
Qiao Ling glares at him and hugs her bag closer. "What did you do, Cheng Xiaoshi?"
"What do you mean?" Cheng Xiaoshi laughs awkwardly, his hands still out towards Qiao Ling. "Can't a brother help his beautiful big sister out?"
"Okay, now you're really creeping me out." Qiao Ling slapped his hand away and pointed accusingly at him. "What do you want? Money? Help with assignements? A boba drink??"
"Okay calm down there, Qiao Ling." Cheng Xiaoshi coughs lightly before he rubs his hands together. "Well, remember the time I promised you an exclusive interview with Xia Fei from the Drama Club?"
Qiao Ling nods suspiciously. "I do recall, yes."
"I'm just asking, hypothetically, what if... we change the topic?"
"The topic to...?"
"...The interview?"
" Cheng Xiaoshi ." The surroundings suddenly become much colder and Cheng Xiashi finds himself shivering at the murderous look Qiao Ling is giving him. "I thought that you were very confident that you'd get an interview with Xia Fei. You said, and I quote, 'Trust me, I'll get y'all the exclusive interview and this will be our best article yet. Bet.'"
"Oh wow, did I say that? Sure doesn't sound like me." He's sweating now and despite being much taller than Qiao Ling, he can feel himself getting smaller and smaller. "I'm just saying , there might be a more interesting article that we can make that the Drama Club."
"Such as...?"
"...We can think about that later?"
" Cheng. Xiao. Shi ."
"Oh, whoops! It's time for my next class. I'm going to go now!"
"Oh, you're not doing that again! Cheng Xiaoshi you come back here right now!"
"And that's how I find myself here."
Lu Guang looks at him incredulously as they're both crouching behind a bush. "So you ran away because you gave up on your interview with Xia Fei?"
Cheng Xiaoshi scratches his cheek. "Um, kind of?"
"Why?"
Cheng Xiaoshi's word falters at the sincere look Lu Guang is giving him. How is he supposed to answer with such sincerity?
"Never mind that! What are you doing here then?"
"Uh." Lu Guang's face turns sour as he moves closer to whisper to Cheng Xiaoshi who is stunned for a moment by the close proximity. "It's because that guy—"
"Oh, my? Is he not here?"
They both freeze at the familiar voice. Peeking out carefully from behind the bush, Cheng Xioashi winces as he can see Liu Xiao looking around casually. "Strange, I thought I saw him running here."
Cheng Xiaoshi can see the way Lu Guang grew tense and tried his best to stay quiet. He can see the way Lu Guang's breath hitches as Liu Xiao moves closer to their hiding spot.
Without thinking, Cheng Xiaoshi grabbed Lu Guang by the hand and began running away from there.
"Huh? Cheng Xiaoshi? And Lu—"
Cheng Xiaoshi ignores Liu Xiao's confused noise and all he can think about is to take Lu Guang away from there. He doesn't have a destination in mind but all he knows is that he doesn't want Liu Xiao to find Lu Guang.
"Cheng Xiaoshi! Wait, hold on!"
It was only when he heard Lu Guang start breathing heavily that he stopped and turned towards Lu Guang, getting flustered as he looked at Lu Guang panting and trying his best to catch his breath. He released his hold on Lu Guang's hand and began fussing over the younger.
"Sorry! A—Are you okay!?"
"Why?"
"Huh?" Cheng Xiaoshi waits for Lu Guang to regain his composure before the white-haired boy continues.
"I thought you wanted me to join the Drama Club? Why are you helping me to run away from Liu Xiao?"
"Uh, well—"
"Why are you giving up on your interview with Xia Fei? Isn't the interview your big scoop?"
"Well I—" He suddenly finds it difficult to form words. Looking at Lu Guang's confused look, it feels like he already knows the answer to it.
"Before I answer that... how did you and Liu Xiao know each other in the first place?"
"Huh?" Lu Guang's eyebrows furrowed together at the question. "We went to the same high school together and he convinced me to do one play together. That's why he's so obsessed with me joining the Drama Club. Why?"
"Oh." A sense of relief washes over him for some reason. "You were trying so hard to avoid him and I... wanted to help you."
"Why is that?"
"Because," Cheng Xiaoshi takes a deep breath. "The same reason I don't want to do the scoop on Xia Fei anymore, and the same reason I don't want you to join the Drama Club."
He once again took Lu Guang's hand in his, gently this time, and with a surge of confidence, he looked at Lu Guang's beautiful grey eyes.
“Lu Guang…”
He enjoys talking to Lu Guang. He doesn't want their moment together to disappear and he doesn't the Drama Club to be in the way of it.
“Forget about the Drama Club! Join the Media Club instead!”
"Huh?"
The way Lu Guang is looking at him gives him even more courage to continue. "It's true that I started talking to you because of the deal with Liu Xiao. But I like talking to you. I want to talk even more with you and I want to spend more time with you. That's why Lu Guang—"
He doesn't notice Qiao Ling's angry figure that turns to confusion and excitement approaching behind him, nor does he notice Liu Xiao getting closer to them with his eyes widening in surprise at the scene in front of him.
"I want to be your friend!"
...
Qiao Ling's face is blank as she could only look incredulously at her brother Cheng Xiaoshi you..."
"Eh, Qiao Ling? What are you—"
"Pfft."
The pale hands in Cheng Xiaoshi's hold are trembling and Cheng Xiaoshi finds his breath taken away at the beautiful way Lu Guang is laughing. He doesn't laugh as loud and boisterously as Cheng Xiaoshi. It was small and quiet, yet it took all the attention in the world.
"Idiot." Lu Guang smiles so gently that Cheng Xiaoshi can hear the rapid beating of his heart at the scene in front of him. "I thought that we were already friends."
"Lu Guang..." Cheng Xiaoshi returns the smile. "Yeah, you're right."
"So, not only did you break our deal. You also stole my prized recruit."
Cheng Xiaoshi could only hang his head guiltily as he pushed two cups of noodles towards Liu Xiao. "I am very sorry about that."
"Well, I don't really have high hopes for you in the first place."
"Hey!"
"But," Liu Xiao continued as he took one of the cup noodles in front of him. "I haven't heard Lu Guang laughing like that in a long while. I thought I would never see it again."
"Liu Xiao..."
"Take care of him, will you?" Liu Xiao stands up with the cup noodle in his hand. "Or else, I'll steal him away to the Drama Club by hook or by crook."
"Ah, no worries! I'll make sure Lu Guang is happy!"
Liu Xiao smiles and leaves with a wave of hands. Cheng Xiaoshi let out a sigh of relief as he happily opened up his cup of noodles to start eating.
"Were you talking to Liu Xiao just now?"
"Oh, Lu Guang!" he brightens up at the sight of his friend and now, his fellow club member. "Yep! And it seems I got his blessings to keep you in the Media Club!"
"Why would you need his blessings in the first place?" Lu Guang sighs before taking a seat in front of him. "I'm surprised that he's so docile with my decision though. He's been relentless for as long as I've known him."
"Who knows? Maybe he's charmed by me?"
Lu Guang snorts at that. "Get real."
"Hey! You don't think that I'm charming?"
"Well, as charming as a little puppy chasing his tail I guess."
"Hey!"
Lu Guang smiles at him as he starts eating his lunch. It's fortunate that they share the same lunch break so that he can spend more time with Lu Guang. Looking at the pristine way his friend was eating, Cheng Xiaoshi couldn't help but smile wider.
" Actually, there's something I didn't tell you."
Cheng Xiaoshi pauses his eating and looks at Lu Guang who has also stopped eating but is still holding his chopsticks with his eyes on his food yet is seeing something else entirely at the moment.
"When I kept on complaining about my cartoon time getting cut out, my dad gave me this one book. It's a novel that expands on the Super Kentai universe. I read it all in one day and read it again the day after. I read it so much the book looks like it just came out of a washing machine today." he chuckles a bit.
"When I tell my dad that I don't want to act anymore, and instead I want to write something as amazing as this book, he only nods and pats my head, telling me that if it's me, he's sure that I can do it.
"I wouldn't say that I never enjoy acting, but I wouldn't say that it's something that I'm passionate about either. It's just that... going to the studio with my dad, seeing his proud face after every shooting... that's what kept me going with my acting career. And when he said that to me, I knew that I could leave the acting gig with no regret."
"Lu Guang..."
"So how about this." Lu Guang's attention is now on him. "Since you don't have any scoop now and Qiao Ling- jie is still on your throat about your next scoop, what do you think about an interview with a former child actor?"
"Wait you mean—" Cheng Xiaoshi was excited at first before his expression turned into worry. "But are you sure you're okay with it?"
"It's not that I'm deliberately hiding it, and it's not that I'm gonna do acting gig again anytime soon." Lu Guang shrugs. "Consider it as my contribution as the new member of the Drama Club."
"Lu Guang..." Cheng Xiaoshi couldn't help the big smile on his face as he leaps to hug his friend. "Thank you! Seriously you're you're the best!"
"Ah, hey! Your noodle!"
The good news is that Qiao Ling is more than happy to accept their proposition. The bad news is that ever since Lu Guang joined their club, she had this strange glint in her eyes every time Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang are together. Every time Cheng Xiaoshi's eyes catch hers, it seems like she's trying to tell him something but Cheng Xiaoshi just shrugs it off every time, adding to Qiao Ling's annoyance.
"So you failed after all huh, Liu Xiao?" Xia Fei sighs as he reluctantly takes a seat next to his vice-president. "You know I wouldn't mind helping the media club in the first place. You tried so hard to bring Lu Guang here that in the end he went to another club entirely.
Liu Xiao chuckles. "Believe it or not, I do have the slightest hope that Cheng Xiaoshi could convince. He's the type that could make Lu Guang lower his defense after all. What I did not expect is for Cheng Xiaoshi to steal my prey just like that."
Xia Fei grimaces. "Calling your ex a prey is certainly something..."
"Ah, I do hope you'd keep that a secret from Cheng Xiaoshi." Liu Xiao puts a finger in front of his lips as he smiles. "Right now he's still oblivious so I would like to keep that trump card for a while now."
Xia Fei stuck his tongue out at that. "I don't want to be involved in your scheme in the first place. "But Vein would certainly make a fuss at the fact that you failed big time this time. Actually, that might be fun to see."
"How cruel Xia Fei~ Can't you spare some sympathy for your vice-president?"
"I don't want to."
Liu Xiao chuckles at the cold shoulder Xia Fei is giving him.
Cheng Xiaoshi might have won this round.
"But, I haven't given up yet."
"Achoo!'
"Woah, are you okay?" Cheng Xiaoshi immediately took off his jacket and put it on the shivering Lu Guang. "Autumn is almost here so you should really start wearing thicker clothes."
"I'll be fine." Lu Guang can feel himself growing warmer as the slightly bigger jacket envelops his body. "So summer is almost over huh?"
"It seems so." Cheng Xioashi seems to be lost in his thoughts for a second before he looks at Lu Guang with excitement. "That's right! Do you already have a plan for this break?"
"Not really. I planned to just read inside the whole day."
"Eh, just that?" Cheng Xiaoshi pouts. "We should go somewhere! With Qiao Ling, Dong Yi, and Xu ShanShan I guess."
Lu Guang hums. "Where are we going?"
"We can think about where later!" Cheng Xiaoshi smiles brightly at Lu Guang as he holds out his hands. "Like today, let's go get some drink together!"
Lu Guang smiles.
"Alright then, lead the way."
