“I think I should have another brownie,” Stede announced.
He reached for the tray. Ed smacked his hand away.
“Bad idea.”
“Ed,” Stede whined, “I’m not feeling anything. I think I have a higher tolerance than you think I do.”
Ed glanced at the screen, which showed that only fifty-four minutes of the movie had passed. “I think you should give it at least another half an hour.”
“I don’t want to.” Stede snuck his hand under Ed’s and grabbed another brownie, shoving the whole thing into his mouth before Ed could stop him.
“Jesus, Stede!”
