Chapter Text

Ralsei examined his appearance, it was a festive time and yet he didn't have anything festive to wear. Then a familiar “bob” of blue hair snuck up from his shoulder and embraced him.

Ralsei smiled. “Hey Kris.” he greeted his partner, Kris pearching their head on his shoulder. Ralsei sighed once again looking at his reflection to which Kris tilted their head. “Oh Kris I don’t have anything to wear for gryftmas.” Kris looked up in thought for a bit before running off.

When they came back carrying a box, Ralsei tilted his head. “What's in that, Kris?”

“Surprise.” Kris replied with a mischievous smile on their face. “Close your eyes.”

Ralsei even more confused now, decided to trust his partner and closed his eyes.

“Could you also stand up and lift your arms up?” Kris asked and Ralsei did as was asked.

About half an hour later, Kris was ready to show Ralsei what they’d done.

“Ok open your eyes.” Kris said, mischievous apparent in their voice.

When Ralsei opened his eyes revealing that he’d been turned into a gyftmas tree. His green dress was decorated with tinsel and lights, his hat was the same but was topped with a star.

“Thank you, Kris.” Ralsei exclaimed, embracing Kris and twirling them around. Once Kris was released they immediately grabbed Ralsei’s wrist and tugged him to the entrance to the light world.

Toriel tapped her foot impatiently Kris was supposed to be back with Ralsei a quarter of an hour ago and on the first gyftmas since Rudy’s recovery. Toriel took a semi-shaky breath ‘it’s not like you haven’t been later before.’ she told herself ‘and Carol’s even worse.’

A ding came from the oven’s timer. ‘Well atleast something’s on time.’ Toriel thought, taking the pie out of the oven.

The front door opened revealing the late duo. “Sorry we’re late Ms.Toriel, it took longer than expected for me to find something to wear.”

Toriel sighed. “It’s ok Ralsei, could you two get started on the monsterbread.”

Noelle sighed staring out of her window, snow caking the area, she looked to the photo decorating her window frame depicting her, Kris, Asriel and Dess when they were younger next to the snow angels they made, Dess was smugly winking at the camera one hand on Noelles shoulder the other around Asrial’s neck who was smiling politely hands behind his back, Kris’ lips were slightly up in a slight smile hands to their side and noelle was smiling hands cupped at her front.

A vibrating sound shook Noelle from her reverie, she checked her phone seeing that Susie had texted saying she was at the front gate.

Susie looked up at the giant gates which were surprisingly not connected to anything. She looked down to see Noelle jogging towards the gates

“Hi Susie.” Noelle greeted cheerly, opening the gate a small bit but creaking loudly.

“Hey.” Susie responded walking in. “So, how’ve you been?”

“Oh nothing much, just preparing for today.” Noelle replied, the couple walking up the path to her house. “You?”

“Nothin’ much either.” Susie stopped and looked at the holiday residence, it more so resembled the apartments in scale rather than any of the other houses in Hometown. Its walls looked to be made of bricks with the area’s in between being painted white this paired with the green window sills made Susie draw comparisons between it and a gingerbread house.

“You good Susie?”

“huh, oh yeah, just your house looks like a gingerbread one.” Noelle chuckled

“Let's get going inside.”

As Susie walked into the holiday residence she was greeted with a large room two round sets of stairs, a trio of sofas around a round table infront of a fireplace and two holiday trees flanking the entrance.

“Would you like something to eat Susie?” Noelle asked.

“Sure.”

After a sandwich and a bit of small talk Noelle offered to give Susie a house tour to which she gladly accepted.

“Hey who’s this?” Susie asked, pointing at an old family photo.

“Oh that’s-” Noelle looked up and felt a slight jab in her chest. “That’s Dess, she-she’s my sister.”

“Oh where’s she, haven’t seen her.” Noelle felt tears welling up in her. “Oh shit, are you ok?”

“I-Its ok, she’s missing.”

“Damn, sorry to bring it up.”

“O-oh it’s ok you were just curious.” Noelle wipped a tear away with her sleeve.

“Wanna sit down?”

“Yeah.” Noelle said, allowing Susie to lead her down to the sofas

To be continued.
