Summary
After opening the Vault, Rhys finds himself lost with Fiona in a jungle that may-or-may-not be on Pandora, and a niggling, familiar whisper at the back of his head. Soon, fuelled by desperation and exhaustion and something else he can’t place, he makes an extremely stupid decision that might get him, and everyone he loves, killed horribly. Or might help him get home. If he doesn’t totally lose his sanity first.
Meanwhile, despite being left locked up by Rhys, Yvette survived the fall of Helios. Working as a bounty hunter, she is trying to just survive long enough to figure out how to get off-planet. But when she encounters her old co-workers out in the wastes, Yvette finds herself roped into tracking down and rescuing the man who left her to die. Though she was sure she’d be able to do that much more successfully without the con-artist girl breathing down her neck.

you know those things you read that is so powerful that you kinda never wanna read it again, but you also never wanna forget it. not only not forgetting it, but also remembering it often, and in that remembrance, going through a rabbit hole like train of thoughts in subjects you've never considered before. this was powerful in every sense of the word. from story and character arcs, to the tiniest most minuscule detail, to the gripping foreshadowing, and the deliciously complicated interactions and relationships. the more i think about this fic, the more i appreciate the sheer artistry and dare i say mastery of its execution. i don't know if i'll ever read it again, but i'm also considering re reading it until i've memorised every line and annotated the shit out of it. damn, i didn't expect this to be this good. it's 4:27 am and i've had the weirdest most intense and anxiety inducing day and haven't been able to breathe properly since yesterday, and finishing this has only made it worse, but, get this, in the best way possible. don't ask me what that might mean or how that even works. i'm just telling it how it is. also back to the deliciously complex relationships... the rhack.. fucking WOW. okay i'm done bye <3
