“I’m Phil. What’s your name?”
The question is pretty bold, there’s a decent chance this stranger is not actually looking for small talk. But Phil would rather risk his shot than feel like he missed his chance forever. The man wraps his fingers around the glass and takes a sip. The tomato juice stains the corner of his mouth and Phil almost automatically reaches out to wipe it away.
“Techno,” the man says.
“Stage name?”
Techno shakes his head. He finally looks at Phil again, properly looks. “You’re a vampire.”
