When you cried I’d wipe away all of your tears

Summary:

“Help’s comin.” Keigo rasped out as he pushed himself up and hugged Fumikage.

Fumikage leaned into it, he had to admit that he missed the lavender scent Keigo brought with him everywhere.

Notes:

Okay so I read 422 and I honest to god threw my phone across the room when I saw Hawks leaning on Tokoyami so I had to write this they don’t have enough content.

Work Text:

“Hawks!” Fumikage jolted awake and felt a head resting against his back.

“I’m right here.” Keigo smiled wearily and blinked as a tear fell down his cheek.

“Where is everybody..?” Fumikage asked as he sat up. Keigo kept his hand on Fumikage’s back.

“They’re all fighting All For One. As far as I know Uraraka has been the only one taken to the hospital.” Keigo said as his leg twitched. He was pretty sure his ankle was at least sprained.

“And—And Bakugo and Midoriya?” Fumikage sounded desperate, his eyes getting big.

“Midoriya lost One For All, and Bakugo’s alive, recovering from his fight with All for One and Shigaraki.” Keigo stated. His voice was raspy and not one of his body was left uncovered by blood and bruises. Fumikage had no idea how he was even speaking.

“Help’s comin.” Keigo rasped out as he pushed himself up and hugged Fumikage. Fumikage leaned into it, he had to admit that he missed the lavender scent Keigo brought with him everywhere.

“Your wings..” Fumikage winced as he felt Keigo’s back. He felt blood drip onto his arm.

Keigo yelped and Fumikage immediately pulled away.

“I’m sorry I couldn’t do more.” Keigo mumbled as he rested his head on Fumikage’s shoulder, letting himself cry.

“You did all you could.” Fumikage reassured as he let Keigo cry. It felt weird, comforting somebody he saw as a father figure. He supposed they both needed it.

Keigo let out a loud sob, and Fumikage let him. They sat like that for a while.

“I’m sorry. I’m just so, upset. I’m so glad you’re okay Fumikage.” Keigo wiped his eyes, and sniffled. Fumikage felt his eyes widen at the first name.

“Did you come to.. save me?” Fumikage asked. He needed something to fill the silence between them.

“He wanted to take Dark Shadow. I couldn’t let that happen. You and Dark Shadow have helped me so much, I couldn’t lose either of you.” Keigo admitted as he took off his gloves. He stretched his talons and didn’t blink. Fumikage forgot he doesn’t blink like a normal human.

“Tsukuyomi, Hawks!” A reported yelled. They both looked over, and Keigo supported himself on Fumikage who helped pick him up.

“I’m here to take you to a hospital. Please, try not to move too much.” She had a quirk that allowed her to lessen the weight of people if she was touching them, Keigo slowly realized.

Honestly he was still somewhat out of it, he couldn’t feel any pain.

“Keep me— with him.” Keigo rasped as he tried to keep his head up.

He heard a slight noise of confirmation.

He vaguely feels himself being sent down on a bed with Fumikage next to him. Keigo was paid more attention to, his injuries were the worst.

He had bandages all over, mainly on his torso and arms.

Fumikage was mainly bandaged on his torso. He sat up slowly, and leaned back against the window of the helicopter.

“I don’t know where I’d be if you hadn’t taught me.” Fumikage whispered as he moved over to Keigo’s bed.

Keigo shuffled over a bit and Fumikage dropped his head onto his shoulder.

Keigo gently wrapped an arm around him and pulled him closer.

“You changed my life, Fumi.” Keigo whispered as he rubbed Fumikage’s shoulder. Fumikage hummed in response.

They were both so extremely tired. Keigo glanced over, and vaguely recognized a body that looked like Touya. He was 100% sure Touya was burnt to a crisp just 20 minutes before, but he looked so peaceful. His skin didnt look charred, his burns were light and he just looked like he was sleeping.

He probably was in a coma, but Keigo swallowed roughly before the drugs kicked in and he fell asleep.

When he awoke, he looked over and saw Fumikage looking at him.

“You’re awake! It’s been 3 months.” Fumikage cried as he ran over and hugged Keigo.

Dark Shadow popped out and nuzzled into Keigo’s neck. Keigo laughed and rubbed Dark Shadow’s beak.

“Dark Shadow’s been nagging to come see you everyday. Not that I didn’t want to, I just don’t like hospitals.” Fumikage said with a small smile. He cried onto Keigo’s chest with a smile.

Keigo pulled them both in for a hug.

“Both of my boys.” Keigo warbled as he gave both of them a kiss on the forehead.

“Hey, when I get out of here, you should move in with me.” Keigo said as he rubbed Fumikage’s back who was resting his head on Keigo’s chest.

“Can I still-“

“You can go to UA to sleep whenever you want. My home can be a place you can go to when you need some time away.” Keigo hummed as he ran his talons through Fumikage’s feathers.

“That sounds nice.” Fumikage mumbled.

Dark Shadow strolled in with a glass of water in his “hands” and he handed it to Keigo who pet his head as a thanks. He chugged it, and sighed.

“I’m so grateful our paths intertwined Fumi.” Keigo whispered.

They sat like that for a while, Dark Shadow getting them both things they wanted as they talked.
