Perfect. Nagisa thinks to himself. He has taken aim. His target clear; large and yellow. The gun filled with the small, pink Anti-Sensei BB pellets. With his eyes locked to the back of Korosensei’s head as the teacher investigates a large bug on a tree. All Nagisa has to do is be patient and wait it out.
After Kirara spooks Korosensei into Nagisa’s part of the forest, Nagisa can take a hit at him.
He hopes he’ll be able to at least graze him with the bullet, so he can go in for a swing with his knife as well. But he’ll only be able to do that with the element of surprise.
He’ll try, though, because the more beat up he gets Korosensei, the bigger the chance Ryunosuke and Rinka will be able to snipe him from behind the bushes a little further down. So on, so forth.
That’s the plan; get Korosensei worn out or the finale. For class 3-E’s joined action to murder him.
But for that to work, the Octopus has to be completely worn out by the time he reaches the end of this long forest path. But with everyone spaced out along the road, hidden from sight, it must work.
Today, will be the day class 3-E successfully assassinates Korosensei.
Their entire plan has been thought out to a T.
This will be perfect.
After Nagisa hears a high pitched screech, followed by Korosensei shaky voice asking Kirara, “Why did you have to scare me like that?” His body flashes back when Kirara swings at him with her knife.
“Oh-“ The realization seems to hit Korosensei; he was not asked to come to this forest for a nice little picnic with his students. No, he came to be killed.
After realizing that, Korosensei, rushes himself into Nagisa’s area. Unbeknownst to what’s about to happen to him, he stops right in front of Nagisa’s tree.
The barrel of Nagisa’s pistol is aimed right at his head and when he shoots he—
“Missed!” Korosensei announces. His body flickers away and reappears a few meters further.
No sweating it. Nagisa tells himself, fishing his knife out his pocket. He’s also a good close range fighter, and as long as Korosensei’s still in his designated area, he gets to take as many swings at him as he wants. You can do this.
He raises himself a little higher, looking Korosensei straight in his face when he says, “Oh really? Did I miss?” Nagisa narrows his eyes and a smile pulls on the corners of his lips.
His feet push him off, launching him right at Korosensei’s face like a snake, attacking its prey. His knife held out in front of him, ready to bury into its victim.
Korosensei gasps audibly, before flickering away.
Missed- Nagisa thinks to himself. –again.
He’s about to make a landing and rush in for a final attack, when he realizes one crucial part to landing is ground. When he looks below him, though, he knows his excitement to attack Korosensei might’ve caused him overshoot a bit. Instead of hovering over the dirt that was right under his tree, Nagisa’s now heading straight for a cliff that’s on the other side of the forest path.
Crap. Is the final thing Nagisa can think before he tumbles down and hits his tailbone on the rocky mountain’s slope. He topples forward, rolling down the entire slope, before finally coming to a halt somewhere near the foot of the mountain the forest’s on.
With Nagisa lying at the bottom of a cliff, Korosensei rushes to his aid. He hovers over Nagisa and-
Slash. Nagisa is able to make a deep cut in one of his tentacles.
The element of surprise is on his side today.
He admits, he even surprised himself a little; he wasn’t expecting to roll down a slope today. But it worked, so who cares? Despite what his exterior might make people believe, can handle a bump.
He stares up at Korosensei, ready to take a swing at the Octopus’s tentacles when his hand gets stopped. A yellow tentacle pushes him away and a voice tells him, “I need you to cease the attack.”
“Why?” Nagisa grumbles, attempting to get out of Korosensei’s grip. “Isn’t it the point of our mission to attack you?”
“Yes, but-“ Korosensei goes silent, his tone is serious when he adds, “I can’t let you kids get hurt.”
“I’m not hurt, I’m not fragile.” Nagisa rolls his eyes. “You must know that by now, Korosensei.”
“I know, but-“ Korosensei moves aside. Behind where his round yellow head previously blocked Nagisa’s vision, lies a gruesome sight. What Nagisa thought to be some slight scrapes and bruising on his leg, reveals itself to be a nasty cut. Bright red blood seeps down past the rocky slope.
Nagisa grits his teeth together when he realizes that’s not some superficial cut; that’s artery blood.
“-you must agree with me, Nagisa; I cannot let you fight on like this.”

Karma is sitting and waiting for Korosensei at the end of the trail. He’s the final one who’ll wear him out, since he’s usually able to keep Korosensei on his toes for long enough. That way the rest of 3-E has enough time to rush to the end of the path for their final act.
His nail scratches at the barrel of his pistol. It’s taking him way too long until Korosensei to get here; they should send him rushing through the forest, attacking him at full speed, giving him no time to regenerate. Yet, he’s still nowhere to be seen from where Karma’s sitting.
“Hey, Karma!” a voice sounds from down below.
Hiroto stands below Karma’s tree, waving both hands in the air.
What is that dumbass doing here? Karma frowns down at Hiroto. “You’re blowing my cover,” he hisses. And when he doesn’t leave, he asks, “What do you want?”
“The assassination has been discontinued!” he shouts.
“What? Why?”
“Don’t know.” Hiroto shrugs. “I’ve just been asked to call you over; we’re gathering near the beginning to see what’s going on.” After delivering the message, he starts running back along the trail, leaving Karma no choice but to follow.
Karma jumps down from his tree branch and follows Hiroto’s example; if the whole class is gathering, it must be serious.
During their jog back to the beginning of the trail, they catch up to Manami. She, despite being smack in the middle of the trail, hasn’t reached the beginning yet. She’s not as physically strong as the others, but her chemistry projects pack a punch, so she was a great assassin for somewhere halfway.
“Do you have any idea what’s going on?” Karma asks her once he’s caught up to her.
She tucks a strand of her behind her ear. “I’ve heard it’s because of Nagisa.”
Nagisa? Karma frowns. The guy might look like a wuss, but he’d never mess up a mission like that. So, unless he’s really badly injured, Karma’ll make sure he is after he finds him.
“Messing up a mission like that-“ Karma grumbles, picking up his pace again.
When he first spots the light blue hair in the distance, surrounded by the rest of his class, he’s about to start shouting and cursing at his classmate; he caused a perfectly planned out assassination to fail, after all. But as he makes his way closer to Nagisa through the crowd, he can see why they were forced to stop attacking.
Everyone standing at front looks a little pale. Despite their mission as young assassins, they’ve never seen this much blood. And even Karma, who’s probably the most experienced high school delinquent of them all has never fought anyone around his age to the point that they were bleeding this much.
When he gets there, it looks like the bleeding has already been stopped by Karasuma-sensei, as a tight tourniquet sits above the gash in Nagisa’s leg. But going from the amount of blood sticking to the rocks, it had been bleeding intensely before Karma got here.
Nagisa’s body seems to be still, his skin blue-ish pale and his fingernails even purple. He looks bad.
“What did I miss?” Karma asks Kirara. She’d made base beside Nagisa, so if anyone knows what happened, it’s her. “What happened?”
“I’m not sure; one moment he was attacking Korosensei, and the next thing I know he’s rolling down the slope.” She shakes her head. “But it’s not looking good; he’s bled a lot, his pulse is weak and-“
“He’s not breathing anymore,” Karasuma-sensei, who’d been holding his hand over Nagisa’s mouth when Karma arrived, mutters under his breath. This is immediately followed by him taking a seat on his knees beside Nagisa. He tilts back Nagisa’s chin and puts his mouth overtop of Nagisa’s. He gives one breath, and Karma can see Nagisa’s chest rising. He does this a few more times, with a five second interval in between every rescue breath, just like he’d thought 3-E during their first aid classes.
In between every few rescue breaths, Karasuma-sensei checks Nagisa’s pulse. When Karma suddenly hears Karasuma-sensei curse under his breath, despite his vow not to cuss around the high scholars, he knows it’s not good.
“Time to disguise yourself,” Karasuma-sensei tells Korosensei as he places his hands on top of Nagisa’s chest. “I’ve lost his pulse; I’m starting CPR. You are taking him to the hospital as soon as I say so. Understood?”
Silence can be heard in return.
“Understood?” Karasuma-sensei snaps at Korosensei.
“U-Understood, yes,” Korosensei stammers. He shifts in his place a couple of times, before disappearing for a few seconds. When he returns, he’s wearing his normal-human disguise. “I’m ready when you are.”
Karasuma-sensei grunts in response, clearly using all his energy on giving Nagisa CPR. After exactly thirty chest compressions and two more rescue breaths, Karasuma-sensei places his finger against the artery in Nagisa’s neck. Waiting for a sign that Nagisa’s alive.
Karma finds himself holding his breath as he watches Karasuma-sensei check Nagisa’s pulse. And he only exhales when he hears Karasuma-sensei give the redeeming word.
“He’s got a pulse!” he announces, before pulling Korosensei closer towards Nagisa. “You are taking him to the emergency room. Keep his neck steady while traveling. Tell them he had a bad fall, a severely bleeding wound and has gone into shock.” Without waiting for Korosensei to let him know he’s understood everything, Karasuma-sensei shouts, “Now!”
With those words, Korosensei and Nagisa disappear into thin air.
For a couple of seconds the group just stands there. Karma has never heard his classmates this quiet before. No one moves, no one makes a sound. Not even Karasuma-sensei speaks; he simply stands there with his bloody hands dropped to his side for a few seconds.
After standing and staring at the spilt blood, Karasuma-sensei turns to the group. Karma feels himself jump at the sound, just so slightly, when his teacher’s voice echoes between the mountains.
“Class dismissed.”

Tadaomi has seen a lot of injured people during his time serving as an agent for the Ministry of Defense, but never has he had to keep a junior high student from dying. He knows the mission of the 3-E student is to assassinate The Tentacled Menace, but this just isn’t supposed to happen.
They’re fighting with bendy knives and bullets that should barely even leave a bruise when they’re to accidentally shoot one another with them.
Nagisa did what the students were told not to do when attacking the alien creature: he got reckless.
This resulted in Korosensei having to take Nagisa to the hospital, which isn’t ideal; by the time Tadaomi had driven his car to the hospital, he was met by a lot of commotion surrounding the sudden appearance of Korosensei. He had, in his worry about Nagisa, forgotten to wait outside and walk in casually. Instead he’d just appeared right in the doorway, holding a bleeding child.
Tadaomi was able to make up a story afterwards, telling them they’d been on a scouting field trip playing tag with rubber weapons, when Nagisa fell and cut himself on a sharp rock. Since the forest had bad connection, he’d sent Korosensei to rush Nagisa to the hospital.
This was close enough to the truth, Tadaomi felt comfortable lying about it.
And as to why Korosensei had suddenly appeared out of nowhere; the doctors had just been too busy and hadn’t noticed him coming in, or so Tadaomi made them believe.
Now, a bit later, Nagisa’s injuries have been treated and he’s on an IV-drip and blood transfusion to treat his shock. The guy was lucky; despite the height he took a tumble from, he only has a mild concussion, a bruised rib from the CPR and his deeper cut needed a few stitches and a bandage.
The commotion has calmed down a bit, since Tadaomi arrived.
So has Korosensei, who’d previously been pacing around the room, going on and on about how this was his fault. Saying that if he’d just let Nagisa take a stab at him, this might’ve not happened. This isn’t entirely false. Nonetheless, Tadaomi doesn’t blame Korosensei for what happened; Nagisa was the one that jumped. And Korosensei, despite everyone wanting to murder him, is still considered a citizen of Japan as of now; he has a right to dodge weapons to protect himself. It was never his plan to hurt Nagisa, that’s clear.
After telling him multiple times it’s okay, and Nagisa’s going to be okay, Korosensei has finally settled down. This leaves Tadaomi some time to recharge, as he already knows Nagisa will probably be out like a light for at least another hour, if not more. Even if the injuries and going into shock didn’t exhaust his body out enough, he’s also on a high dose of pain medication, which Tadaomi knows from experience will send you right back to sleep after you wake up.
Knowing this, he makes himself comfortable in the hospital chair and closes his eyes. As soon as the world around him gets darkened by his closed eyelids, he feels his body grow heavy.
Within a matter of minutes, he feels the world grow a bit more distant, until-
“Nagisa!” Korosensei’s voice jolts Tadaomi awake from his slumber. “Oh good- you’re awake!”
Tadaomi carefully opens his eyes to see Korosensei sitting on the edge of Nagisa’s bed. Nagisa’s eyes are opened just so slightly as he weakly gazes at the ceiling.
“W-Where am I?” he asks Korosensei. He makes his voice quiver and to anyone not noticing his hand sliding out from underneath the blanket, it appears like he’s just woken up and still a bit confused.
Something tells Tadaomi Nagisa hasn’t just woken up, and he’s definitely not confused.
While keeping his eyes locked on his target, Nagisa’s hand disappears in the bag of his belongings, sitting on the bedside table. When he returns it to underneath his blanket, he’s holding a knife.
“I fell?” Nagisa asks after Korosensei explained everything. He gives it a thought, keeping up the confused act, like he’s born to be on stage playing a role. “Yeah, I remember something like that. Wasn’t I trying to-“ The knife moves out from underneath the blanket, rushing towards Korosensei’s face. “-attack you?”
In the blink of an eye, Korosensei backs off, just barely avoiding a nasty slash from Nagisa’s knife.
“Didn’t I tell you to put a hold on the whole assassination?”
Nagisa puts up the innocent act again, grinning sneakily when telling Korosensei he doesn’t remember agreeing to that.
“Whether you agreed or not, doesn’t matter in this circumstance; you were hurting.”
Nagisa’s eyes quickly glance at his leg, which must hurt at least a little despite the pain meds. But he doesn’t admit that, instead he shrugs and says, “It’s my mission to kill you, I won’t put it on hold because you asked me to.”
“But- but-“ Korosensei stammers. “Now I didn’t see it coming. That’s no fair!”
“Why should you see it coming? There’s no fun in it that way,” Nagisa tells Korosensei. “I don’t have to inform you about an assassination before I attempt them; that’d be dumb.”
“That is called cheating, young man!” Korosensei protests.
To which Nagisa replies, with a smile, “No, sensei, it is called surprising.”
The End.
