Chapter Text
Moon sighed in relief. Finally, his own bed again. He curled his legs up into his chest, wrapping his arms around them and flopping backwards.
It had taken ages for Fazco to finally finish the repairs and renovations, and even longer for them to finally let everyone back in to live there again. And even then, they'd had to sit through an entire three day long video detailing the new requirements and expectations that they had, which they had had to spread out over a two week period of time. It had basically gone through the same jobs that they'd had to do before, but reinstating things that they'd stoped doing, such as Moon's patrol's, and the theater.
Moon heard a knock on his door. Man he loved that renovation, no more tunnel! He stood, making his way over to the door and opening it carefully.
There stood Sun, not longer in his small body, as he had been almost all day due to the stress of moving back and all of the excitement of seeing their new rooms. Moon gave him a worried look. "Sunny? You okay?"
Sun fidgeted with the ends of his Sunflower covered weighted blanket, which was wrapped around his shoulders. He shrugged, nervously glancing up at Moon and then back down.
Moon frowned at him. "Then what's wrong?" He didn't say it in a mean way, (At least he hoped he hadn't), but Sun gave a small flinch, still not meeting Moon's eyes.
Sun opened his mouth, hesitating before closing it again and looking frustrated. Moon gently reached out and took one of his hands in an attempt to comfort him.
"Hey, hey, it's okay. Whatever it is, you don't have to tell me right now." Moon gently rubbed his fingers between his own, taking his other hand as well. He had realized that this was a subtle way for him to try and warm Sun up a while ago, and he continued to do it, despite knowing that it was futile.
Sun looked embarrassed at his inability to get the words out. Moon suddenly understood what was wrong. "Nonverbal?"
Sun looked relieved, nodding. Moon nodded back in understanding. "Do you want to use sign language?" Sun nodded again.
"Alright."
Sun held up his hands and signed, sorry.
"It's alright Sunny, now what's wrong?"
Can we cuddle? Sun looked embarrassed. Moon blinked in surprise.
"Oh!" Moon smiled at him, "Of course we can. C'mon in." Moon moved out of the doorway to let Sun in. Sun shuffled past him, glancing around the room curiously, and looking delighted by the other changes.
There was a bit more space than there had been, and the ceiling had star covered blankets strung over it. It was very nice and cozy, giving off the feel of a blanket fort. Sun seemed to love it.
"C'mere," Moon said, pulling him over to the bed. "You lay down so that we can both get some sleep."
Sun clambered up into the bed, pulling Moon down beside him. He wrapped his blanket around the both of them, snuggling up against his brother. Moon sighed, wrapping his arm around him and leaning back into the pillows.
"Good night Sunny."
Sun gave him a tight hug before loosening his grip and relaxing into the bed. Moon closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.
