Nami has been thinking.
Marriage.
It's never been across her mind. But after what happened to Lola, she gave it a lot of thought.
While waiting for Zoro to wake up after Kuma's attack, she sits on the left side of Zoro's bed, her left hand cupping her cheek.
"Hey Robin, what do you think about marriage and having children?"
Robin, who sits close to Nami's left side, puts her book on the coffee table before her, then turns her head towards Nami.
"Why you ask?"
"It's just popped up in my mind."
Robin stares at Nami, and Nami turns her head to face Robin.
"Don't say you will marry all books in the world or adventure."
"WHAAT WE CAN MARRY BOOK?" Chopper shouts shockingly. He's tending Zoro's bandage.
"Of course not, Chopper," Nami sighs.
"So how do we marry adventure Nami?" Chopper asks.
"*sigh… how I explain this...Don't think about it seriously, Chopper."
"Fufufu." Robin chuckles. "It's a hard question. What do you think of it, Nami?"
"Maybe one day I'll do it. How about you? I want a serious answer."
"Well….Part of me want it and live a stable life." Robin pauses for a while, thinking. She remembers her mother, Olivia, a criminal labelled by the world's government, and how she struggled until she met her mother to know her mother would leave her alone forever to save Ohara's knowledge.
"But..it will be hard since I've been a criminal and wanted person since at least 20 years ago, especially when I have children myself. I'm afraid I would leave them alone because the government would hunt me anywhere, or worse, I'm dying, and I couldn't protect them anymore." Robin's smiling sadly.
Nami and Chopper suddenly feel sad. They remember Hiriluk and Bellemere and how they left them while they were still a child.
"Even If I disguised myself, the chance of betrayal from my partner would be high. Except I'm married to someone potentially criminal with a bounty higher than me or someone from our crew." Robin says it casually while taking a sip of her coffee.
Nami and Chopper stare at Robin thoughtfully.
" And if you marry someone in our crew, you won't have any private life with that person in Sunny," Nami adds.
"Pricesly. Maybe Luffy could agree that my spouse and I live in Sunny, but the others' opinions also matter." Says Robin.
"You could ask Franky to build room for you and your spouse, right?" Chopper asked innocently.
"Yes, I could, but it seems unfair with the others, right?" adds Robin.
"And having pregnancy on the ship would be worst! I can't imagine that!" Nami thinks thoughtfully.
"And you know, giving birth carries a big risk of causing a woman to die." Chopper nods.
Nami's expression changes, "You shouldn't say something that makes me don't want to have children, Chopper." Nami pinchs Chopper's right hand.
"Ouch, Nami!" Chopper rubs his right hand
"How about you, Chopper?" Ask Robin.
"There isn't any formal marriage in the animal kingdom, you know what I mean. But I'm attracted to female reindeer, and I'd like the idea of marriage".
"Is it possible for you to marry or whatever the right words I should use, female reindeer? I mean, you already eat hito-hito no mi." Nami asks.
"Actually, it's possible. If there is any female reindeer who is interested in me." Chopper suddenly frowns, remembering when all the reindeer stayed away from him after he ate hito-hito mi.
"Do you know minks tribe Chopper?" Robins asks.
"What is the mink tribe?" Nami turns to ask Robin.
"The Mink Tribe are a race of humanoids with furry mammalian features that live in the Mokomo Dukedom on top of Zou."
"See, Chopper, don't be sad. You may find an attractive female humanoid- reindeer there! If there aren't, we will search all around the world for you, Chopper!"
"Really?" Chopper jumps and smiles widely. "I can't wait. You have to promise me, Nami! Wait, where is Zou Robin?"
"Zou is an island on the back of a Naitamie-Norida elephant named Zunesha that roams the New World. Zunesha is a massive, living, and conscious elephant. The only way to go there is with Vivre Cards because A Log Pose or Eternal Pose cannot track it." Robin gives a smile to Chopper.
"What? The elephant must be so big! Do you ever see that Robin?"
"Not yet, but I believe we will." Robin smiles confidently.
"Anyway, what qualities do you seek for your future spouse, Robin?" Nami asks again. "Whether you marry him or not."
"Maturity and respect are important," Robin answers without thinking.
"That means you don't care about the age gap?"
"Not at all. How about you, Nami?" Robin already guessed that Nami would seek someone rich enough for her.
"Rich, of course," Nami says bluntly.
Robin and Chopper chuckle.
"For sure, maturity and respect are essential. But for me, the most important thing is that I want him only to have eyes for me and accept me for who I am."
"It's a good perspective, Nami. How about you, Chopper?"
" I agree with your opinions. But for me, being kind is important too." Chopper stares at Nami, a gape, who sometimes could be an angel and sometimes a monster. He wishes that he wouldn't have a spouse like Nami.
Together, Nami and Robin smile and nod. "I'm with you on that," says Nami.
"Do you think you would be a good parent, Nami?" asks Chopper, wondering if Nami wouldn't be so vicious around her children as the other boys in the crew.
"Of course! I'll be a good mother and always be there for my children." Nami answered, full of confidence. Again, she's remembering Bellemere.
"Fufufu." Robin is giggling with Chopper and Nami's interactions.
"Anyways, Nami, that's my opinion about marriage and having children. Maybe someday this thought will be changed, and I don't mind it."
"I like your perspective, Robin. I'll also keep an open mind for it." Nami smiles at Robin.
"Up until now, I plan to go on an adventure with all of you until I die," says Robin flatly.
"It's sweet, Robin..." Nami says. "But also so DARK," adds Chopper. Together, they glance at her strangely, surprised.
"Wait a minute." Something pops up in Nami's mind. "You said that it's possible you would marry someone on the crew. Who would it be, Robin?"
Robin sits straight, trying to control her expression. "......"
"*Yawn.." Zoro is sitting and yawning suddenly, stretching his hand above his head. "Auch. My body.."
"Zoro!" Nami and Chopper call him together.
Zoro tries to stand up. "Zoro, you should go easy," Nami holds his right arm while Zoro only stares at her. Turning his head to Chopper's position, he asks him.
"Oi Chopper, where is the toilet?"
"It's over there. Outside this building."
"Alright. I need to go there." He releases Nami's grip on his arm.
"Wait a minute, let me escort you. You could faint if you get lost too long." Chopper transforms into human form to help Zoro.
Zoro doesn't answer Chopper, his left hand wraps around Chopper's waist to support his body, and then they stroll towards the door.
Nami feels annoyed with Zoro because he doesn't answer her, but he feels relieved that he finally wakes up after three days of passing out.
"I better tell the other." Nami stands up. "Do you want to go with me, Robin?"
"I'll wait for Chopper and Zoro here." Robin opens her book and reads again.
"So who is it, Robin?" Nami gives a glance to Robin.
"Aren't the clues already obvious enough, Nami?" Robin gives her a sly smile.
"Heh." Nami walks away to search for Luffy and the others.
Zoro gives a thought of himself. I should start saving money and having a hobby that makes money.
He has been listening to their conversation but pretending to be asleep because he feels awkward waking up with that kind of conversation. He wants to hear more but needs to pee and cannot hold it anymore.
