Work Text:
Taylor looked at Lisa. What felt like hours passed between them even though it was seconds. Once upon a time she might not have given it much thought. However, now things had changed. Underneath everything, she was now more aware than ever about how Lisa had changed her life. No one else had been there as consistently as she had been. Doubt had crept in on countless occasions about what they were. Really though, the only thing that mattered was that they were here now. Everyone else could go to hell. Defiantly she grabbed Lisa's hand.
She spoke firmly, "No matter what happens, it'll be us."
"Us?" Lisa asked coyly.
"Come hell or high water, I'm not leaving you again."
"Keep that promise this time," Lisa said, her voice tinged with sadness.
"I will," she said. Taylor meant it too. She hadn't meant anything more strongly in her life. It was a turning point.
Lisa smiled at her and Taylor felt warm inside. Very soon, they might have to talk to the others. It was a problem for future Taylor. All that mattered right now was just them.
"Question," Lisa spoke, her voice soft. Undeterred by Taylor's sudden hesitation, Lisa continued.
"All this hubbub happened I forgot to mention, I think I hurt my leg. Nothing too bad, but would we be able to go take care of that now?"
Taylor smiled and let Lisa lean on her as the two departed. Ultimately, everything else could be handled after she saw to Lisa. Mindful of Lisa's injuries, the two walked into Lisa's... no THEIR place.
