Summary:

Suguru and Satoru’s first year students find out about the baby on the way.

Notes:

so a bit of background; suguru did not defect in this au and adopts the twins but didn't adopt megumi and tsumiki—but stsg are still something like guardians/father figures to them if that makes sense—but its not really important to the story.

also as ive tagged, suguru is preggy in this fic but you can decide if he’s an omega, trans or if it happened magically!

Work Text:

“Geto Sensei!” Itadori and Nobara exclaim loudly in unison as they practically burst into Satoru’s office. Fushiguro steps in behind them and greets his Sensei as well in a relaxed voice, but Suguru can tell he’s just as overjoyed as the other two. Seeing their bright faces after quite some time melts Suguru’s heart with fondness.

“Okay, don’t be too loud!” Satoru lightly chides as he stands up from where he was sitting next to Suguru on the couch, playfully pinching Itadori’s ear who quickly apologizes. It’s usually Suguru’s role to lecture the kids when they aren’t behaving properly but ever since Suguru conceived, Satoru has been taking that role more often—even becoming twice as protective as he was before. Not that Suguru is complaining—it’s both fascinating and endearing to see this side of his husband more often.

“It’s okay, Satoru.” Suguru reassures, then nods at his students who shyly settle next to Suguru—Nobara on his left while Itadori and Fushiguro sit on his right. “How have you guys been? Are your trainings going well?”

Suguru gently asks, quelling the tension from before with ease as the students share about their recent missions and improvements, filling him in with some details he missed out on while he was away.

The earlier phases of Suguru’s pregnancy had been rougher than he expected, and he absolutely didn’t want to be in the spotlight while he was going through a vulnerable time. The couple is well-known in the Jujutsu Society and they had no doubt that there will be people trying to pry into their business if word comes out, especially the higher-ups. And Suguru wasn’t prepared for that.

He had taken a break from teaching and stayed overseas during half of his pregnancy while Satoru continued to teach at the school since his husband had no issues with teleporting back to Suguru anytime he needed to. Other than themselves—their daughters, the Fushiguro siblings and Shoko, who does his monthly check-ups, were the only ones who were aware of his pregnancy.

But they both knew they couldn’t hide forever and they’d rather reveal it themselves when Suguru was ready. Satoru has been the most supportive partner throughout, always making sure that he’s prioritizing Suguru and his feelings above everything. He knows how excited Satoru is about their baby, knows his husband well enough that he’d want to gush about it to everyone around him—but Satoru has been holding back because he just respects and loves Suguru so much.

Suguru thinks he might be falling in love with his husband a little more everyday.

“Sensei, have you been doing a new skin care routine?” Nobara suddenly asks, voice laced with genuine curiosity. She has always been fond of learning the newest beauty trends and often shares them with her friends and teachers. “You look like you’re glowing!”

“Nobara, it’s called the pregnancy glow.” Satoru intervenes, making everyone glance in his direction where he’s seated on the edge of his desk, arms crossed. He’s wearing his sunglasses today, which he slides down the slope of his nose to reveal his vibrant blue eyes and then gives a wink. “Though, Suguru is always glowing, like the beauty he is.” He adds cheekily.

The trio groan simultaneously at that, making Satoru laugh while Suguru blushes. When his gaze meets with Satoru’s briefly, he could actually feel his cheeks and ears grow even hotter and from the smirk Satoru gives, he knows his husband is proud of the effect he’s having on Suguru.

“Is the baby going to have white or black hair?” Itadori wonders out loud, causing Suguru to shift his attention to the boy.

“What if the baby has both hair colors?!” Nobara gasps, her eyes almost twinkling with excitement. She hums, giving it some more thought and then adds, “But I prefer Geto Sensei’s black hair because it’s the prettiest!”

The boys next to Suguru enthusiastically nod in agreement.

“You guys are playing favorites!!” Satoru complains with a childish pout, making Suguru giggle.

“Geto Sensei is our favorite though.” Fushiguro confirms, lips forming into a smirk when Satoru starts whining even more dramatically.

“I think our baby would look adorable with white hair.” Suguru finally says, fondly placing a hand over the swell of his belly.

Suguruuu~” His husband coos, satisfied with the answer.

That’s when Suguru slightly feels a slight movement, right under where he laid his hand. He promptly looks down at his swollen belly, pressing a little to see if the baby will kick again. Satoru seems to have noticed it immediately and asks him if it’s the baby. Suguru looks up and nods at his husband, a smile stretched across his lips, which makes their students perk up in interest.

“Can I touch? If it’s okay?” Nobara asks expectantly, a little shy even, which is unusual for the confident girl and it amuses Suguru.

“Of course, dear.” He approves, retracting his own hand from his baby bump.

Nobara raises her left hand but doesn’t do anything else, still a bit hesitant, so he takes her hand and gently places it on where he felt the baby’s movements before.

She suddenly gasps, becoming teary-eyed.

“I just felt the baby move!!” Nobara squeals, then urges her friends to do the same—who each take their turn to touch Suguru’s baby bump carefully.

The three teenagers go uncharacteristically silent for a while with awe, save for the whispers of ‘cute’ and ‘adorable’ from Itadori and Nobara while Fushiguro hums in agreement.

The teachers and students talk some more, the kids telling them how happy they are and telling Suguru that they hope that they could see their Sensei more often from now on. Suguru couldn’t make any promises since he plans to go overseas again before he’s too close to the due date but he reassures them that he would come see them as often as he could. They seem to be content with that.

When it’s time for them to leave, Suguru rises to his feet with the help of his students and walks up to the door to send them off. He’s glad that he wore his yukata with his hair down like he does at home because he knows he would’ve felt uncomfortable otherwise—considering that he hasn’t been very fond of spending too much time outside since his pregnancy.

He gently closes the door behind and turns around just in time to see Satoru approaching him with his hands in his pockets. Satoru stops when he’s one step away from Suguru, takes off his sunglasses and quickly pecks him on the lips. They both smile when Satoru leans back.

“Nanami and Haibara must be on their way back now.” His husband informs, looping a hand around Suguru’s waist, guiding him towards the armchair adjacent to the couch they were sitting on earlier. “Let’s go home after meeting them!”

“Mmhm.” Suguru agrees, already craving to cuddle with his husband in their bed.

He thought Satoru was going to make him sit in the armchair, but instead, Satoru sits on it first and pats on his lap—lightly tugging at his wrist to bring him forward.

Despite himself, Suguru blushes. “I’m much heavier than before.”

Suguru knows what he’s saying doesn’t make any sense—Satoru is literally the strongest sorcerer in the modern Jujutsu society alongside Suguru. But in his embarrassed state, the words came out before he could think twice.

Satoru simply clicks his tongue, reaching forward to guide Suguru to sit on his lap; who does so reluctantly. “You’re not heavy, Suguru. Never will be.” He says, a little muffled as he’s pressing his face against Suguru’s hair, inhaling his scent deeply.

“If I can’t even hold my family in my arms like this, then I don’t deserve to be a husband, right?” Satoru adds after some time, surprising Suguru.

Satoru rarely ever says anything with the lack of his usual arrogance but it’s his choice of a particular word that surprised him. When he used the word ‘family’, Suguru realizes that he didn’t just refer to Suguru, but the baby inside him too.

It makes his chest warm, giddy with love and adoration like he’s the teenager who fell in love with the unruly Satoru all those years back. Suguru finally relaxes in his husband’s lap, slumping comfortably against Satoru who puts his hand on the swell of his belly, while other smooths his hair gently.

Suguru puts his hand over Satoru’s.

Moments later, they both feel the baby’s movements again, making them chuckle.

“Seems like this little one is energetic today.” Satoru comments, caressing his thumb adoringly over the spot.

“I think they’re just excited to meet their aunt and uncles.” Suguru says, titling his head so that his head is resting against his husband’s.

“And parents.” Satoru adds, leaning forward to press a kiss against his cheek. Suguru hums, agreeing with Satoru.

Family.

It still feels unrealistic sometimes.

When Suguru was still a student at Jujutsu High, he always thought his whole life would only be dedicated to protecting the weak and fighting curses. But throughout the years, Suguru adopted two lovely daughters, married to the love of his life and soon, there will be a new addition to their family—a child of his and Satoru’s own.

Suguru feels his eyes well up with tears as he thinks about how grateful he is for the life they currently have together, about spending the rest of his life with Satoru and growing old together with their children. He wants to tell Satoru all about it. But for now, he just wants to say...

“Satoru...”

“Hm?”

“I love you so much.”

Smiling, his husband presses another kiss to his cheek.

“I love you so much more, Suguru.”
