“Will you be Nico’s manager?” Reyna asks, her voice tired. He sits up, alert.
“What?”
“Will you be Nico’s manager?” she repeats.
“What’s going on? Why are you asking me this?”
“Come on, Will. I’m tired. Just… just be his manager, okay? We’ll both be his manager. I take care of the important stuff, the meetings, the briefings. I text you things and get him there. That is all.”
“I don’t know, Rey…”
“Please?” Her voice sounds defeated. In two years they’ve known each other, she’s been strong, head-on, a powerful force in Will’s life. Now, she’s just exhausted. Like years of dealing with Nico have finally caught up to her. “Do it for me, please?”
