    It was biologically impossible...

    She wanted to drop to her knees and cry until her life slipped away. She was a human, her body couldn’t harbor magic, much less carry a magical child. Right?

    A paper is set before her eyes. Through blurry, watery vision, she recognizes familiar black nails tracing over the surface in a pattern she could recite with her eyes closed.
