   Summary

   Just as the Spring Court is a broken shell of its former self, so, too, is its High Lord. After being told by Rhysand that he deserves his misfortune and to live out the rest of his days alone, Tamlin has lost all hope, save for a quick ending to his suffering. He begins to have a change of heart when he discovers a wounded female near the border with the human lands and allows her to stay in his manor while she heals. As winter slowly melts away into spring, Tamlin and his new houseguest seek comfort in each other, and not only does Tamlin find someone to protect—someone who welcomes his protection—but he also finds his reason to keep living.
