"What if I prove otherwise?" Andrew said, but Neil kept walking. "what if I conquer you?”
And then, the Duke stopped, Neil looked at him over his shoulder with a minimal pang of interest.
" What are you getting at?”
"Let me convince you that a date can prove nothing." He explained, that time Neil turned his body to face him. "The season ends in a month. Give me one month to win him over and change his mind. If I succeed, you will agree to the marriage. You'll pay the dowry, give the blessing, everything."
Neil did not answer him for a minute that seemed too long. There was no strong agreement, but rather a raising of eyebrows, a less than ladderly look.
"If you fail, you will leave my family alone." I said. "And your brother will no longer be able to talk to Katelyn.”
"Fair enough." Andrew nodded. "But he has to be honest. You won't hide anything.”
"I would never do such a thing. Although I didn't think I would ever need to.”
"We'll see." And Neil subtly raised his eyebrows. "Do we have a deal?”
"We have a deal."
