   Summary

   Eight months after her wedding to Laenor Velaryon, on the nameday of her second youngest brother, Rhaenyra Targaryen gives birth to a squalling baby girl. The sea rises up to meet the new princess when she is born on Driftmark.

   As children, Aemond and Laenora are made to be begrudging companions at the behest of the King, who believes that because of their shared nameday, they share an entwined fate, as says the tradition of old Valyria. The Queen and the rest of court see it as a curse instead of a blessing.
