Since she really liked to cook, she also learned more recipes and learned to bake desserts. She learned also that he liked tea, so she worked on creating a new type of tea that could tickle his curiosity, it took her a thousand years to create the flower and a thousand more to perfect it. A thousand years after perfecting her tea, she learned that Tai Chen Palace was recruiting new Fairy Maids through some gossip from her friend Cheng Yu. It gave her the idea to try to go and work in his palace as a cook, but Si Ming had refused to help her get in. She had returned to Qingqiu and tried to think of a new idea.
She had learned that his favourite subject was Buddhist theories, and she tried to do well in that subject, but most of the known theories and knowledge were beyond her understanding. And once she had accompanied her father and aunt to court for a debate on a conflict between Qingqiu, the Demons and the Ghosts, to serve as education as future Queen, and she had been so totally spellbound by Dijun’s ability to debate and manoeuvre the conversation to his own desired outcome that she totally forgot the idea of impressing him with conversation. She realized she would never reach a level high enough to debate with him, but it had increase her fascination for him to a new level, so she still studied the art of debate. Even if she could not reach Dijun’s level, it would be useful when she would be queen.
She also learned that he was a hero who fought in countless battles and unified all of the immortal realms, so she worked hard on her martial skills. It helped that the fox clan put an emphasis on martial skills so she could focus on those skills without her family being suspicious of her motives. It was especially true after she was done forging her Hexu sword that she would use for her Bing Cang ceremony, that was to precede her coronation. She worked hard, with most of her family members, fourth uncle Bai Zhen, father Bai Yi, Gu Gu Bai Qian and even with her grand-father Bai Zhi, the Fox King, and God Zhe Yan, the Ancient Phoenix, who was married to Bai Zhen. She also studied military strategy with her grand-father and learned a few spells to confuse the enemy.
She did not know yet that all of those skills would come in handy during the days of celebration of her aunt’s wedding to Ye Hua, Heaven’s Crown Prince and would set her up for a future with Dijun.
