Summary
Rory is still the daughter of Lorelai Gilmore and Christopher Hayden, but she has a step brother. Colin is her step brother, Colin is still his parents’ son, but his mother died when he was very young (just like the show) and his father (whose name in this story will be Frederick) married Lorelai when Rory was 11 and Colin was 12. Frederick had been drawn to Lorelai’s beauty, but was hooked by her wittiness and her sense of humor. They had been happily married for years (thus signifying Colin’s father’s end of debauchery). They are still together, but since Colin is at boarding school all the time, Rory doesn’t see as much of him as she would like. Now Colin is at Yale, but Rory still hasn’t met any of his friends. Also, Rory dated Dean the first time around, but not since (nor will she again), just as she dated Jess (but will not date him again). She tended to wish that she could skip a year and be with Colin (hereafter referred to as her brother).
