The Operator is fond of renaming things.
Ordis often wonders if the Operator is aware of the preexisting names those objects have received. Objects are not the stopping point of the Operator's -BLOODY CONQUESTS- retitling expedition.
The regulars of renaming were most often people.
Through Ordis's time with the Operator, he learned that if they couldn't remember a name they would make one themselves. For a short period of time the Operator called Ordis 'Best Ship Boi' or 'The Best Person I've Met So Far'.
A major theme in the Operator's names is a summary of the bestowee's personality or major interactions. A list of highlights would be as follows:
Maggot Man (Vay Hek), Bounty Dude (Konzu), Called Me Boss Now I Love Him (Legs, was it?), Investors! (Nef Anyo), And People Have Debt Darling (Ticker).
Ordis has tried to bestow a similar retitling to the Operator.
Once Ordis called the Operator 'the One Who Operates the Orbiter' and was met with hysterics which caused the Operator to -KEEL OVER AND DIE LAUGHING-.
The second time Ordis tried a different approach. Instead of using a description of a common task the Operator performs Ordis alternatively chose a description of the importance the Operator held to Ordis.
After the Operator woke up one morning Ordis acknowledged them by saying "good morning, my will to live." The Operator looked up at the ceiling, then went back to sleep.
Ordis has made no third attempt.
