Summary
Scaramouche joins the Fatui, and slowly lets Himself be known.
He finds his reflection wherever he can: mirrors, glass panels, the surface of water, eyes. This behavior is under ridicule by all who are close enough to recognize it as a habit; he is told that his legacy will be a tale of vanity and destructive pride.
“For a bunch of sinners,” he sneers, “you all act awfully virtuous.”
He is not self-obsessed. He is curious, considering what he is and what he could be.
