Summary:

Lan Wangji’s expression has only changed minutely—not a lot of range there, it seems—but Wei Wuxian can tell he is perturbed by this information. “Alcohol? In cake?”
“Honestly, I’m not sure any cake should even be made without alcohol,” Wei Wuxian says, offering another beatific smile that Lan Wangji does not return.

AUTHOR'S NOTES: once again, I have chosen chaos. you may have questions about this great british bake-off au, like for example, are they british? I, of course, have no answers for you, but definitely maybe! if you're unfamiliar with gbbo, it may be helpful to read an overview of the show's format on wikipedia or smth, but otherwise just suspend your disbelief and concerns about nepotism (should lan wangji be a contestant on a show where his brother is the judge? definitely not, but who cares!) and know that, while I have seen every season of gbbo, I am in no way on expert on anything, ever, at all!
