One Sky, One Moon, a New Tomorrow to Build

Summary:

A Key expelled from his worldline in order to save a dearly beloved; two Masked heroes that saved their world by fusing it at the risk of their existence and a young self-sacrificing Valkyrie with an unknown darkness who wants to find her father. How will the meeting of all those martyrs change this New World on the border of extinction? (Crossposted from FF.Net. Parallel work/sequel to Wacky Woohoo Pizza Man & Salty Tuna: Honkai Will Cry.)

Notes:

Warning: Spoilers for the Kingdom Hearts saga or Kamen Rider Build. Necessary post-KH3 Re:Mind and Build end-series knowledge to understand everything as well as reading Honkai Impact 3rd manga. It’s not necessary to read Wacky Woohoo Pizza Man & Salty Tuna: Honkai Will Cry or even Devil May Cry but some other context cues are also there. The quotes in the used as separation lines just contain random quotes and elements from the series involved, so they don’t actually foreshadow scenes, just to be clear.

Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Chapter Text

Sora was standing alone on the Final World.

He just fought Yozora, an individual that was supposed to be a videogame character but was actually real… and that he claimed that he wasn’t in his own body or something.

Then he fought Sora in one of the most difficult fights the Keybearer have ever been, in order to ‘save him’.

Sora won but the whole thing just confused him. He sighed. Even after having his perspective on the world flipped entirely and all those mind games and conspiracies around him, each new thing just added more questions than answers.

Sometimes… he asks himself whether everything was real or not.

Though before he could think more about it, he heard a crack.

“What the-” He couldn’t finish his question when the ground gave up on him like a fragile ice sheet. Meaning Sora instantly sunk in with a splash.

May Your Heart Be Your Guiding Key

They felt it.

One of the accursed Keys of Light has fallen but his Heart was still intact.

In fact, he crossed the barrier to the other side of Reality .

That would usually be impossible but due to the recent resurgence of Kingdom Hearts alongside the many natural laws broken by the Chosen Wielder, cracks have been opened.

And using the Keys as beacon, they not only can track him but also found a whole new batch of Worlds to devour.

It will take time to break the barriers but sooner or later, everything will return to Darkness.

The Heartless have entered the Sea of Quanta and a certain entity in the depths is observing them in curiosity.

Love And Peace

He didn’t know how much time had passed before he opened his eyes but when he did it, he knew he wasn’t at the Final World or any other World he had been before.

“Wow.” As he continued descending to the depths of... wherever he was, he took notice that everything was cubic to some extent, alongside some other things like, giant pencils or floating trains as well as fluorescent cherry trees and bubbles that showed images of places and people. “Wait, are those Worlds?”

Experience in the Ocean Between as well as lectures from Donald that mostly flew over his head, showed him that Worlds on the outside appeared smaller than they actually were and that for most of them, their names and forms were actually something that just represented the destination someone using a Gummi Ship would end up and that changes in time, like, for example, trying to go to Olympus Coliseum transported them to the side of a mountain or the Underworld. The Worlds were weird like that.

“Am I… in the sea between Worlds? Because those looks are new.”

Eventually, he drifted off to one of those bubbles, one showing a huge city that could probably rival San Fransokyo… and there’s another bubble, coming from a portal, that showed off some kind of giant tower shooting off a beam of light that connects with the former bubble with the latter coming towards the former like it was attracted to it.

It doesn’t take much to put two and two together.

“Uh oh.”

Worlds were supposed to be separated in order to not trouble the World Order. Just breaking the barriers keeping them away led to the destruction of uncountable Worlds from the Heartless. So what could happen if two Worlds were to clash together?

Sora tried to turn back but it was impossible. The force that was guiding him towards those two Worlds was too strong so he ended up towards them, helpless to even be at a safe distance from the clash, which flooded everything with a light that left him unconscious again.

Reburn

In an isolated Bubble Universe, a meditating man frowned. “The Seed of Sumeru is reacting. New possibilities are being born. How is that possible?”

“Easy. New variables are being added.”

The first person, Su, turned back, half-closed eyes now opened in surprise, just to see a man shooting photos with an old-looking pink camera.

“This Sea of Quanta is supposed to be a place of possibilities so it shouldn’t be surprising to expect the unexpected.”

“What?” Su was surprised. “How did you get here? It should be impossible to enter without the power of the Void.”

The mystery man just let out a smug grin. “Don’t worry about that, I was passing through. Though I admit that I didn’t expect a Keyblade Wielder to cross over at the same time as a Kamen Rider into this multiverse, much less the same World. Oh well.” He shrugged at the same time a translucent wall, a dimensional barrier according to the Seed of Sumeru, appeared at his side.

“Let’s just hope I don’t have to destroy that World. Seems like it has potential.” He sighed and turned to Su “Oh. And I’d watch out for pests. Invasive species are a pain in the ass to exterminate.”

“Wait!” Su tried to stop that man but he already passed the barrier, transporting him out of the Bubble Universe. “Keyblade Wielder? Kamen Rider? And what’s that about destroying the World and invasive species?” Su broke into a cold sweat. In all those thousands of years, something like that never happened, so he didn’t have any references to those new variables that would lead to completely unknown timelines.

Multiple warning and error messages appeared in his field of vision.

Thousands of simulations ended prematurely. And the ends they displayed showed destinies as worse or more than the Honkai total victory.

Simple and Clean

Sora woke up with a migraine. It wasn’t the first time it happened but this one was of the strongest ones yet.

“My head…” He grunted before taking in his surroundings. It seemed he was in some sort of alleyway. “This seems familiar. Oh, right. It was in Traverse Town.” He remembered while observing “The islands were consumed by the Darkness and I ended up there. Just like now.” He commented while walked through the narrow pass. In the past, he was confused, tired and scared due to what happened to his home and his friends as well as ending up in an unknown place. But now? It’s just an afterthought. Years of being a Keyblade Wielder, fighting Heartless and travelling the Worlds made him experienced enough to react and adapt accordingly.

...Most of the time, that is.

“Though why do I feel my clothes are bigger?” He approached a crystal storefront and the results, well…

“WHAAAAAAAAT?!”

Yeah.

“I shrunk?!” Sora exclaimed at his reduced build and now extra baggy clothes. “No, wait. This face is the same I had when I was fourteen.” He put his hands on his face “This is like in the Sleeping Worlds.”

He slumped. “And this time I don’t have clothes of my size. Oh man.” He sighed. Not only that but he also didn’t know if it was permanent or not. Ahhh! The laughs everyone at home would have if they saw him now!

… Oh, right.

… He didn’t have a home now.

Due to abusing the Power of Waking, he paid his own existence in exchange for the others, especially Kairi. He thought he would end up dead or at least in the Final World for eternity but with what just happened…

“Maybe I can return home!” Sora smirked and manifested the Kingdom Key, his Keyblade and one of his most loyal partners. Can he call a Keyblade partner? I mean, they’re sort of sentient and they’re deeply connected to the Heart.

Who cares right now? As long as he has faith in his Heart and Keyblade, he’ll be fine!

“May your Heart be your guiding Key.”

He pointed his Keyblade to the air in order to open the Lanes Between. Only for nothing to happen.

“Huh?” Sora let out confused. “It didn’t work?” He pointed the mystical weapon towards a random door and a beam shot out of it, unlocking and opening the door.

Sora frowned. He tried again opening the Lane. Nada.

“Strange. It worked before. Maybe it’s related to this World? Though I have to test something else.”

As he concentrated, a tiny flare appeared at the point. “At least I can use magic. Though it’s really weak.”

“You yourself, will vanish from this World. And without your powers, you can’t return to the World you came from.” Chirity’s words resounded in his mind.

He sighed once again. “Once again from zero, eh? That I can solve easily.” He shrugged with a smile. He had his strength reset so many times that he no longer cares about it. Besides, he returns stronger than ever every time that happens. And when he does it this time, he’ll return where the others are!

He jumps at a sudden noise coming from a pile of garbage. Kingdom Key in hand, he cautiously approached the junk, only to see a person trashing on the ground, back turned towards the Keybearer.

“Mister are you okay- Whoa!” Just as he was about to touch him, the man swiped an arm at him which Sora dodged jumping backwards.

That also made Sora have a full view of his rotten face, mixed with sickly glowing purple veins.

“No way, is that a zombie?!”

Welcome to Nagazora, Sora. Hoped it wasn’t at the Third Honkai Eruption.

This party’s getting crazy! Let’s rock!

“As of 10:00 today, all external contacts with the city of Nagazora have been severed. The UN has issued a statement confirming a BH virus outbreak in the city.”

The news broadcast played in the screen situated in between the handles of a red motorbike with a gear-like protrusion at the front and another at the back, this one looking like an oversized yellow bottle.

“Oi, Sento.” The passenger asked the driver. “Ever heard of a place called Nagazora?”

“Nope.” Sento, the driver, answered. “Must be an addition from the New World.” He paused talking. “Never thought an idiot like you had interest in geography, Banjo.”

“I am not an idiot! At least call me musclehead…” Banjo protested. “But no. It’s just, the last time we ended up in another World, the one with other Riders and without Skywall, I actually freaked out. Guess many thought I was crazy at that moment. I don’t want any more nasty surprises, that's all.”

“I guess that makes sense.” Sento sighed. “Our plan, from beginning to end, was just a huge gamble in order to defeat Evolto. Especially when he created that black hole that destroyed the moon and was about to do the same to Earth. We didn’t have the luxury to choose which World to fuse with. Guess we will have to research. After we find ourselves a place to stay, of course.” He sighed. “Hope that quarantine doesn’t last long. An illness potent enough to make it necessary to close off a full city must be terrifying. Maybe I could began researching a cure for it. It’s been a while since I approached virology. Ohh, the scientific research from a differing parallel World must be so exciting!” He finished with a happy tone. If he hadn’t have a helmet, part of his hair would have been already erected.

“Whatever, nerd guy.” Banjo rolled his eyes, not in the mood for his partner’s science rantings, which fly over his head most of the time.

Sento was about to protest when he took notice of a car driving uncontrollably towards their direction! With an impressive display of superhuman reflexes, he made the bike jump in order to dodge the vehicle, much to his partner’s surprised squeaks.

The car crashed into the fence, causing panic among all the vehicles in the lane, causing many other accidents, horn noises and angry shouts.

Quickly, Sento ran up to the ruined car in order to help whoever was inside. “Hey, is everyone okay?”

His answer came in the form of strange trashing noises that didn’t sound like someone struggling for their life or the fuel going to explode. A literally black clawed hand emerged from the roof, as if imitating an infamous chestbursting scene of an old sci-fi horror movie.

More shouts among the near stopped vehicles ensued, but those were more of horror. He took notice of Banjo running up there to investigate. The roof was opened even more with another monstrous hand, letting out an expressionless dark humanoid head with vaguely insectoid-anthena. But what impacted Sento’s most were those emotionless yellow eyes, observing him with ravenous intent.

Without thinking it, Sento took out a belt-like artifact that wrapped itself around his waist and two bottles, one blue depicting a tank and the other red with a rabbit, which he shook at the same time the Heartless jumped towards him.

“HENSHIN!”
