A Love So Beautiful

Summary:

Kim Sunoo is in love with his handsome but indifferent neighbor, and classmate, Nishimura Riki. School and family tests their relationship as they go through the ups and downs.

“Riki~” Sunoo briefly scanned their area as he scooted closer to the taller. Bringing his hand up to shield one side of his mouth.
“I like you.” He said softly.
Riki blinked his eyes, “I don't like you.” He replied.

Notes:

Hello! This fic is purely based off of the Chinese drama, A Love So beautiful. It's one of my favorites and I highly recommend you go watch it! There's a Korean version too, but I prefer the Chinese actors more.

I needed to take a break from writing smut, and I became sad that I couldn't write anything about my favorite ship because Ni-ki is underage. So this is my solution!

Sorry this chapter is so long, I'll try to make the future ones shorter. This first chapter will introduce you to the characters and the mood of the story. I hope you enjoy!

Also... no beta, we die like men.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Chapter One - Dear Nishimura Riki

Kim Sunoo had two passions in life. Making art, whether it be painting or making music. And chasing after Nishimura Riki. His classmate, and also the guy next door.

The Japanese boy was quiet, smart, tall, and had stunning looks. He was perfect all around in the eyes of Sunoo and many others. So when they had met for the first time, Sunoo just knew he was the one.

In comparison, Sunoo was an average height. He got average grades, sometimes a little less than average. He was talented in art, and at least he was cute... but he was nothing like Riki.

Their class was currently at the front of the school, sweeping up the red fall leaves. The crisp air brushing against Sunoo’s skin as he noticed said boy quietly sweeping by himself. Deciding to shuffle towards Riki, clearing his throat when he reached the taller boy.

“Nishimura Riki~” He chirped.

Riki looked over at the shorter boy, a blank stare on his pretty face.

“We’re in the same class again this year. It’s kind of destiny, don't ya think?” By the time he had finished speaking, Riki was already back to sweeping at the stubborn leaves.

“The entry score of this school was quite low this year.” The taller boy stated disinterestedly as he did his work.

Sunoo replied enthusiastically, “Five points lower than last year! Thanks to those five points, or else I wouldn't have been able to get in. I’m so lucky!”

Riki made no comments. Looking down at Sunoo with a slightly annoyed look on his face.

“Riki~”

Sunoo briefly scanned their area as he scooted closer to the taller. Bringing his hand up to shield one side of his mouth.

“I like you.” He said softly. Riki blinked his eyes.

“I don't like you.” He replied.

Disappointment showed on Sunoo’s round face as he awkwardly looked around, avoiding eye contact.

“Okay… I'll figure it out.” He said dejectedly, slowly starting to run away. Leaving Riki alone to do his work.

*・゜゚・*:.。..。.:*・゚・*:.。. .。.:*・゜゚・*

The teacher suddenly slammed papers onto Sunoo’s desk, snapping him out of his daydreams. The bright light from the windows beaming on his face as he quickly stood up from his chair, with his head hung. Already knowing what to expect.

“Look at your English test score. Your writing is totally off topic!” The teacher began to scold him, raising her voice. Half of the students watched Sunoo, and the other half looked away to avoid their teacher’s stern gaze.

Sunoo chose to avoid looking up. “Look at your rank in our grade, you’ve gone down 75 places. Keep up at this pace… and after two more tests, you’ll be the student with the lowest score in our school.” The teacher burned into him.

Continuing her rant, “Compare yourself with Nishimura Riki. You're from the same Junior High.” Riki lifted his head upon hearing his name. Tilting it to slightly glance in their direction, where they stood diagonal from behind him.

“How come he can have the highest score every time? Why do you keep getting a lower score?” She once again raised her voice, hitting her hand on his desk.

Sunoo was beyond shameful. Nothing could be as embarrassing as this. His face heated up as he continued to hang his head low. Trying to act as if he were invisible.

“I understand Mrs. Park, I’ll learn from Nishimura Riki.” He responded timidly. The teacher just shook her head in disappointment, walking away as the bell rang.

Everyone in the class quickly got over the scene as Sunoo stood there, still processing Mrs. Park’s words.

“You and I are similar in rank.” Sunoo’s best friend, Jungwon began.

“How about we form a team? How about… ‘Fox and Cat’ siblings?” He ignored his friend as he watched a girl, Shin Yuna, approach Riki at his desk.

“Nishimura Riki, Can you do me a favor?” She displayed a pretty smile as she asked the boy. His face was blank and cold as always.

“Uh sure… how can I help you?” He replied flatly. A pang of jealousy hit Sunoo.

“The grammar we’ve learned today is a little confusing for me. Can you explain it to me?”

Sunoo watched in envy as Riki helped her. “Who’s prettier? Me or her?” He asked Jungwon as they both observed Yuna.

“Well for one, you're a guy. But, she’s very pretty. It’s definitely her.” Jungwon innocently replied.

Sunoo sighed, “Well then I’m not pretty enough to team up with anyone.” He said as he dragged himself to the door of the classroom.

“Eh? Don’t worry, That's why you'd look like a cute little fox!” He quickly tried to lift the boy’s spirits as he slowly exited the room.

Riki looks up from the girl’s work, glancing over at the commotion. A pitiful look on Sunoo’s face.

*・゜゚・*:.。..。.:*・゚・*:.。. .。.:*・゜゚・*

Sunoo needed ways to show Riki some appreciation. He decided on trying to give the taller boy breakfast. That's why he was outside of their apartment complex, at 7 in the morning, waiting for him.

Taking in the beautiful morning aura as he waited. The door squeaked, announcing Rikis arrival.

“Good morning!” Sunoo chirped.

“Morning.” Riki replied with a flat tone. Sunoo walked towards the taller, handing the boy the food.

“I brought these for you.” He said while holding out his arm.

“Stop giving me steamed buns.” The taller boy said while passing Sunoo, not accepting the food.

The next morning, Sunoo was outside. Waiting for the boy with pastries this time. Sunoo pacing back and forth by the bike rack. Deep in thought while daydreaming about the endless possibilities of their relationship.

He was so deep in thought, he didn't realise how long he was actually waiting for.

“Maybe he already left?” He checked the time on his phone.

“It’s almost eight!” He hopped on his bike, peddling there as fast as his legs could. Arriving at the school right as the first bell rang. A sigh escaping his lips.

This morning, he was outside at 6 in the morning. The sun hasn't risen yet. Surely He would catch Riki this morning. He was determined, pacing back and forth with the breakfast in his hand.

His eyes were drooping. Exhaustion washed over him as he paced. Giving into the wave of sleepiness, he decided to sit down. Sitting on the curb leaning against the streetlamp that was lighting up the area. Yawning as he rested his head on his hand. His eyes slowly shut, dozing off.

A few minutes later, Riki emerged from the building. The sight of a sleeping Sunoo who was probably waiting for him caught his eye. Glancing at the boy as he got on his bike, taking off for school.

*・゜゚・*:.。..。.:*・゚・*:.。. .。.:*・゜゚・*

After a long and exhausting day at school, it was finally time to go home. Sunoo looks for a certain someone among the crowd of students walking with their bikes. Spotting the tall boy, walking beside a girl, Yuna.

“Where do you live?” She asked, looking up at Riki.

“Right next to Kim Sunoo.” His reply was flat as always.

Sunoo quickly ran in between the two while dragging his bike, separating them. “Eh? Are you going back?” He asked the taller boy, gaining no response.

“Yuna, is your home in this direction too?” He innocently asked the girl. The question caught her off guard.

Tucking her hair behind her ear, “I- uhm…” she trailed off.

“I’m going home.” Riki announced before walking away with his bike. Sunoo trailing behind him like a puppy would with their owner.

Looking defeated, “I- See you tomorrow!” Yuna tried to bid the taller boy, but failed to reach him.

The two boys slowly rode their bikes home, side by side.

Sunoo began, “I read this poem today, but I’m not sure if it's a good one. Do you wanna hear it?” He asked. Riki looked over at him, a distant look on his face.

Sunoo continued despite no answer, clearing his throat, “My love is a tidal wave. A wave that pushes me towards you.” The two boys abruptly came to a stop. Riki looked over at the shorter boy with a cold glance, then looked away.

Sunoo smiled, “So, what do you think?”

“If you're so free, do more studying instead of memorizing song lyrics.” Riki finally replied. Taking off on his bike right after. The smile fell off of Sunoo’s face as he watched the boy pedal away.

“Song lyrics?” Swiftly taking out his bag to read the poem.

“Dammit! They are song lyrics!”

*・゜゚・*:.。..。.:*・゚・*:.。. .。.:*・゜゚・*

The weather outside was beautiful. The sun was beaming and the air was crisp, but warm too. Sunoo was taking a break in the courtyard, enjoying the weather.

Clearing his throat, “Stop there! I wont say this again, so you need to remember my words. I like you. If you dare say no to me, I will…” He looked around, forgetting what he was supposed to say.

He picked up his paper that he threw on the ground, examining it. Not noticing the tall handsome boy who was walking up to him with a confused face.

Sunoo continued, “I will make your school life very miserable, by all means. If anyone wants to steal you away from me, I will kill--” Sunoo jumped in shock, noticing the tall boy next to him. He was staring.

“Who are you? Why are you eavesdropping?” He asked the unknown boy.

“I’m not! This is a small campus, and youre talking very loudly.” The boy replied. Walking closer to Sunoo. Craning his neck, his face close to Sunoo’s.

“Boy, do you dislike this school that badly?” He smirked. Sunoo looked around, humming while innocently nodding his head. Looking up at the boy.

“So what are you, a gang boss?” The boy tilts his head.

“A gangster?” he continued playfully.

“Yeah, sure.” Sunoo said awkwardly.

“So… don't mess with me.” Sunoo patted the taller boy's shoulder, beginning to walk away. The boy slowly nodded his head while watching him, laughing a little.

*・゜゚・*:.。..。.:*・゚・*:.。. .。.:*・゜゚・*

Sunoo was back at it again, writing a love letter for Riki in his journal. Completely in his own little world, blocking out the lesson currently being taught.

“Perfect. Okay, Park Jongseong. You can pick the next student.” Jonseong stood there at the front, examining the students.

“Kim Sunoo.” Sunoo looked up in surprise.

“Kim Sunoo, hurry.” Mrs. Park called as the boy shuffled his way up to the board.

She began listing out the words, Sunoo slowly writing them on the board. The teacher losing her patience as the students glare at his answers.

“Balance” Mrs. Park repeated firmly. Waiting on Sunoo to answer.

“Balance. I know this one.” A voice says from the doorway. Everyone looked over to who it was from. Sunoo recognized him as the guy from the courtyard. Some of the students gasped and swooned over his appearance.

“Are you the new student? Lee Heeseung?” The teacher asked the boy. Some of the students began to whisper.

“Yes, your highness.” Playfully placing a hand on his chest. The students laughed at his actions.

Mrs. Park was unamused, “I asked you to be here at eight. It’s already nine. Even though you're involved in a sport, you still have to be in class on time… come here.” Giving the boy chalk while lecturing.

“Go up there. We're doing dictation practice.” The boy walked up to the board, right next to Sunoo. Firmly patting him on the back, pushing him forward.

Looking down at him, “Boss, I'm relying on you.” Sunoo looked back at the board, a worried look on his face.

“Modest.”

Heeseung watches Sunoo, waiting for the shorter to start writing an answer. Sunoo looks back up at him, completely lost.

“Don't look at me boss. I don't know this one.” Both of them struggled to write an answer. Mrs. Park tapped the papers she was holding onto Heeseung’s back.

“What are you waiting for? Write an answer.” The boys look back to the board. Sunoo slowly starts to write while Heeseung copies him.

“I've told you that vocabulary is very important. Why is it so hard?” She walks over next to them. Heeseung looked over at her.

“Are you copying Sunoo’s answers? Your English is probably better than his.”

“I still need to learn from you.” Heeseung complained, defending himself. The class laughing at his witty response.

“Stop cracking jokes. Go sit down.” Gesturing for the two boys to take a seat. Both of them turned to leave.

“Why do you only know that one word?” Sunoo whispered, leaning up into the taller. Heeseung opens his jacket to reveal his shirt. The word balance written in English on the front of it. Smiling down at Sunoo, an unimpressed look on his face as he walked away. The class once again laughed at his antics.

“Introduce yourself to your classmates.”

“Hello, I’m the new student, Lee Heeseung. I’m on the swim team. We’ll get along well!” He said coolly, nodding to his new classmates. The class clapped at his introduction in enthusiasm.

“Alright, go back to your seat.” Mrs. Park told him.

Heeseung looked around, “Miss, where should I sit?”

She scans the room. “There.” She points to the empty seat directly behind Sunoo.

“Boss!” Heeseung whispers to Sunoo as he passes by. Sunoo slapped his hand over his face to hide it. Riki glanced over at the two.

“Why do you call him ‘boss’?” Jungwon asked Heeseung as he sat down beside him.

“It's a long story. Right Boss?” Sunoo didn't reply, his hand still covering his face. Riki looked over, slightly glaring at them.

*・゜゚・*:.。..。.:*・゚・*:.。. .。.:*・゜゚・*

It was now free period, Sunoo jumping out of his seat to exit the classroom where Jungwon was waiting for him. Instead, running into two girls in the doorway.

“Excuse me, Is Nishimura Riki in this class?” One of the girls asked Sunoo. He observed them, seeing that the other girl was holding an obvious love letter. Ignoring the fact that that was exactly what he and Jungwon were leaving the classroom to do as well.

“No.” He told the two girls.

“What class is he in then?” The one holding the letter asked. Looking around the classroom for the boy.

“Well…” Sunoo trailed off.

“Well what?” She asked, confused.

He lied, “H-he transferred to another school.”

“Which school?” The other girl asked quickly.

“I don’t know.” Sunoo exits, walking in between the two dumbfounded girls.

“Transferred?” They both whispered in shock.

Sunoo rushed down the corridor to Jungwon, who was waiting for him outside. The both of them begin to walk to find a certain class.

“How dare you! You only taught me song lyrics! I can write way better than you!” Sunoo said. Referring to the other day when he helped Jungwon write some letters, and in return he helped Sunoo write one for Riki. They were currently on their way to pass them out.

“Help me pass them out and you'll see who writes better.” Jungwon sassilly replied. They arrived outside of the classroom, a girl slowly walking out of the door.

“Uh- Excuse me, is Sim Jaeyun in your class?” Sunoo asked the girl as Jungwon stood off to the side, nervously looking away. The girl nodded, disappearing into the class. Sim Jaeyun emerged from the room.

“He wrote this for you.” Sunoo told the boy, gesturing to Jungwon who glanced over shyly. Sunoo handed the letter to Jaeyun, who instantly opened it. His eyebrows raised in surprise.

Right as he unfolded the letter, a guy swiftly snatched it out of his hands from behind him. Loudly mocking them.

“Yah! Don’t!” Sunoo yelled, scrambling to grab at the letter. The boy held it away from his reach. Jaeyun and Jungwon stood there, frozen in shock.

“Give it back!” The two wrestling over the piece of paper. More male students from the classroom crowding around Sunoo and the other boy. Pushing around Sunoo, looking over their friends shoulder to see the paper.

“Students in grade 1 are brave!” The boy teased. Holding the note up to read it out loud to the crowd of students.

“Aish! Really- you're so nosy! Stop already!” The taller male students pushin Sunoo away from the boy as he yelled. The boy continued to loudly read. Students from other classes poking their heads out the doors, checking out the ruckus.

“Sunoo! let's go!” Jungwon began to drag him away. The bullies separated the two, shoving them around while teasing them.

“Sunoo, don't! Let's just go!” Jungwon tried to get Sunoo to give up on attempting to grab the note.

“Don't leave so soon! I have some comments to share.” The boy holding the letter yelled over the noise.

Two of the boys held Jungwon back, “Your writing sucks. My feet can write way better!” the annoying students laughed at the insults.

Meanwhile, back at their classroom, “Kim Sunoo and Yang Jungwon are fighting with some senior students!” a student busted into the room running over to tell his friends. They ran out of the room along with a few other students.

Jongseong slammed his book shut, shoving it in his desk while standing up. Following the students. Riki watched him, glancing around and followed him.

The crowd increasingly grew, “Tell us, did you write this?” The bully asked with a smirk on his face. Jungwon looked down, refusing to answer.

“Why don't you speak!” Sunoo stood there, worried about what they'll do.

“You're brave enough to send the letter but not brave enough to admit it?” The group laughed and pointed at him.

“Coward!”

Jongseong slowly entered through the crowd, walking to the front beside Jungwon. The group of bullies went quiet. Looking over at him.

Jongseong looked around with his hands in his pockets, “What happened?”

“They're reading Jungwons letter!” Sunoo quickly answered. Nobody said a word.

Jongseong made intense eye contact with the boy, “Reading his letter?”

“Yeah, that's right.” The boy admitted, breaking eye contact.

“Tell me, can you even write a decent letter with a bird brain like yours? Start writing one right now. Do it.”

The boy looked around, “No! I won't listen to you, ass-kisser!” Jongseong glared at him, unimpressed. The group began to laugh.

“You lo-” the boy was suddenly cut off as Heeseung appeared behind him. Reaching around the boy's head to trap him,  covering the boy’s mouth with his large hand.

“Dude, you have a potty mouth. I’ll wash it out for you!” Heesung told the boy.

Harshly slapping his hand a few times onto the other one that was covering the boy's mouth. Everyone was watching in shock. Jongseong smirked, enjoying the show as Heeseung proceeded to put the now scared boy into a headlock.

“Who are you?” The boy asked as Heeseung looked down at him.

Heeseung looked around before getting back in his face, “A real cool guy.”

“Psycho!” The guy tried to break out of the hold, failing miserably. Sunoo swiftly snatched the letter out of his hand. Jongseong shoved the boy in the shoulder.

“If you like love letters, you can write some. Don't grab other’s.” Heeseung scolded.

He gestured towards Sunoo, “Look, He’s my boss. Taking his love letter equals my dirty toilet paper. Stinky potty mouthed fool, do you understand?” He raised his voice into the guy's ear.

“Now, you have a dirty mouth!” The bully yelled back.

“I can be dirtier! Wanna try?” The bully’s eyes widened, Heesung’s shout was interrupted.

Riki stepped next to the group, “Bang Sihyuk is coming.” He announced. Walking away as the students quickly ran back to their classes. Leaving the four boys standing there.

“Hyung, excellent.” Jongseong said to Heeseung, holding up a fist with his other hand over it. Heeseung smirked as he returned the gesture. Then turning to drag Sunoo back to class.

Jungwon felt his heart stop as Jonseong did the same. His face flushed as he let the boy drag him back to their classroom.

*・゜゚・*:.。..。.:*・゚・*:.。. .。.:*・゜゚・*

Mrs. Park violently slammed her large book onto the podium. The sound echoed throughout the silent room, startling the students.

“What have you learned? Fighting with senior students? This shouldn't happen in a school!” She shouted.

“It wasn't a fight, we just argued.” Jungwon quietly said, looking down.

Mrs. Park pointed to him, “Yang Jungwon, shut up.”

“Do you think being in the first year is far from the college entrance exam? Once you become senior students, you won't have any time to regret! Who was in that fight? Who was watching? All get out of the classroom.” They slowly began to get up.

Jungwon shot up, “Miss, it was all my fault.”

“You know what?” Bang Sihyuk came into the room.

He pointed to Jungwon, “Yes, it was all your fault.” He shouted.

Jungwon looked down at the floor, holding his hands together. Mrs. Park squeezed her eyes shut, looking away in shame of her students. The man walked into the room, slamming his hand onto the podium.

“Sending love letters and fighting with senior students. Sending love letters to a senior student. What? You like older people? Mrs. Park… I’m telling you, your students have been behaving badly for many days!” He scolded everyone while rapidly tapping the podium.

“You have to punish them, or they'll end up delinquents! Okay… give me all the other letters.” He pointed at Jungwon. Sunoo raises his head up slowly, eyes wide. He looked back at Jungwon, worried.

“They're not with me.” Jungwon mumbled. Bang Sihyuk firmly hit the podium, making Jungwon jump. He slowly pointed to Sunoo. Heeseung tried to swat his hand down with his eyes wide.

Bang Sihyuk stamped over to Sunoo’s desk, “Kim Sunoo, are you an accomplice?” The class was silent. The students watched as he leaned down into Sunoo’s space.

“What do you have to do with his love letters? Does he pay you?” Sunoo quickly shook his head.

“No.” Half of the class snickered at his answer.

“Give them to me!” The man shouted. Sunoo got them out of his bag, as fast as he could. Standing up to hand them to the man.

Pausing when he saw his special letter he wrote for Riki in the stack. Bang Sihyuck grabbed them, but Sunoo kept his grip tight. Staring at the letter as the man tried to yank them from his hold.

Sunoo stood there as the man walked up to the front. Slamming the letters onto the podium. Opening a letter to read it. He read the letter out loud, students hung their heads in an attempt to hide their laughter.

He then opened another one, “You wrote them all the same? You should just distribute flyers at this point!” A few students audibly laughed.

Sunoo watched in dread as he grabbed the letter for Riki. Bang Sihyuk observed it.

“Oh no oh no please no~” He whimpered as the man began to open it. Catching the attention of Heeseung and Riki.

“He’s going to read mine.” He quietly whined to himself. Riki looked back at him, rolling his eyes as he began to stand up to interject. But Heeseung beat him to it, his chair loudly squeaking.

“Sir, I think students' letters are private. Isn't it inappropriate to read them out loud?” Heeseung called out.

Bang Sihyuk scoffed, “Students who write love letters dont deserve any privacy. The school has its rules!”

Riki swiftly stood up, “Sir, I don't think the rules would allow you to read others' letters.”

Jongseong followed, “Mr. Bang, enough, please stop reading.” The man was left speechless.

“Sir, we've already learned the lesson.” Sunoo said.

“All right. All of you… write a self-criticism note to me. At least 1,000 words long, or you're not allowed to leave.” He shouted while pointing at them. Picking up the pile of letters and throwing them onto the ground before he angrily exited the classroom.

*・゜゚・*:.。..。.:*・゚・*:.。. .。.:*・゜゚・*

The five boys were now gathered in the staff room. Writing their notes for Bang Sihyuk. Quietly laughing with each other about their situation.

“Boss, I’ve never written anything like this. Can you help me?” Heeseung whispered to Sunoo, Jungwon looked over at the two.

“I think you're really good at it.” He added.

“Okay. Wait for a while. I'll help you after finishing mine.” Sunoo answered, focused on his writing. Heeseung smiled.

“Hero, Here you go.” Jungwon whispered as he handed Heeseung his finished paper.

“Thanks, bro.” He gladly accepted it.

Sunoo looked up from his paper, catching Riki spacing out. He nudged the taller boy. “You stood up for me today.”

“I didn't.” Riki replied flatly, looking down at his paper.

Sunoo looked down, “Oh… Okay. I can teach you how to write this.” He offered. Leaning closer to the tall boy.

“No thanks.”

“You can't write this. It doesn't sound like self-criticism.” Sunoo read Rikis note out loud. Riki looked over at the shorter boy.

“You can't write that. I’m good at this, I can help you.” Riki pressed his mouth in a line, looking back down at his paper. Not replying to Sunoo.

“You were so cool today hyung.” Jungwon whispered to Jongseong.

“They were bullying you. Why didn't you fight back? Listen, next time, just-” Jongseong was cut off by a teacher clearing their throat.

“Beat them. Students in class 8 are not cowards.” He finished while whispering. Jungwon giggled.

“I think the main reason was his writing.” Heeseung joked while writing. Jongseong holding back a laugh.

“I was practicing.” Jungwon whispered in defense.

“Yah, Jungwon, you said you were very popular around students!” Sunoo said.

Jungwon laughed, “Anyways, thanks to you all! Enough said. Let's go to an internet cafe after school. How about that?”

“No.” Sunoo and Jongseong answered simultaneously. The both of them getting up and quickly leaving with their papers. Jungwon watched as they scurried out.

“I can't go, either.” Riki said. Jungwon whining in disappointment. Looking over at Heeseung.

b“My boss isn't going, Neither am I.”

*・゜゚・*:.。..。.:*・゚・*:.。. .。.:*・゜゚・*

The three boys were focused on their monitors, intensely hitting the keys on their keyboards. Riki killed Heeseungs character. Heeseung hitting his keyboard in distress.

“Nice job, Riki. You're a good shot, just like me.” Jungwon praised him. Riki smiled.

Jungwon looked between the two boys, “After today, we are closer than ever. Hmm… let's form a team?”

“Fox and Cat siblings?” Riki asked.

Jungwon smiled, lightly punching his shoulder. Riki smiled wide, laughing a little as he looked back to his computer.

“You were eavesdropping on my chat with Sunoo. Bad boy. You just couldn't take your eyes off me. I mean… we can form a new team. Our team can be… T3.”

“That sounds so stupid. No wonder your writing skills suck.” Heeseung rejected the name.

“Your writing isn't any better.”

“Jungwon, it sounds like an airport terminal.” Riki said while focused on the game.

Jungwon looked over at him, “Nishimura Riki, You finally remember my name!” Riki looked back at him, his face and nose scrunched.

“It’s not too hard for me to remember names… Come on, one more game.”

*・゜゚・*:.。..。.:*・゚・*:.。. .。.:*・゜゚・*

“Wanna go to the convenience store?” Sunoo asked Jongseong.

“Yeah sure, why not?” The two began their peaceful trip to the store.

“Thanks for earlier, I really appreciate it.” Sunoo thanked the other.

“It's no problem… By the way, who were you writing that letter to?” Jongseong asked, smirking over at the boy.

Sunoo looked around, “How do you know I wrote that?”

“‘For my friend,’ usually means ‘for myself’.” Sunoo smiled at him, keeping quiet.

“To Nishimura Riki, right?”

“My friend says yes.” Sunoo cheekily replied.

“Your friend is so different. How can he like such an icy person? He may die from the cold.”

“You don't understand.”

“Alright, I don't understand. Only you understand.”

*・゜゚・*:.。..。.:*・゚・*:.。. .。.:*・゜゚・*

Sunoo was especially tired this morning, sleeping in later than usual. Even failing to get breakfast for Riki.

He groggily walked outside, rubbing his eyes. Coming to a halt when he noticed a familiar pair of shoes. Looking up to see an unbelievable sight of Nishimura Riki sitting there on his bike… waiting for him.

A wide smile spread on his face as Riki looked up from his book, noticing the short boy. He blinked, looking around.

“Let’s go.” He said flatly. Sunoo running over to his bike. Sunoo was smiling like a maniac their whole walk. Riki kept on glancing at him.

“Why are you smiling like that?” He asked, looking down at the boy who was beaming brightly.

“I just feel so happy to go to school with you.” Riki looked away, avoiding eye contact. The pair walked alongside each other with their bikes. The bright sun hitting their faces.

As Sunoo slept while sitting on the curb that morning, waiting for the taller boy with the pastries. Riki emerged from the building. The sight of a sleeping Sunoo who was probably waiting for him caught his eye. This early at 6 in the morning?

He paused, slowly walking over to the smaller boy. Crouching down, he watched Sunoo’s head fall forward, jerking back into place.

Riki smiled, reaching out to the boy's face. Lightly brushing his hair. Swiftly retracting his hand as Sunoo spoke in his sleep.

“Nishimura Riki~ steamed buns for you.”

Riki smiled as he held in laughter, looking at Sunoo for a little longer. He then quietly stood up to leave, taking one last look at the cute boy.

Anyways, I really hope you guys like this! If you plan on watching it, this chapter is only involving events from episode 1. Leave a comment to let me in on your thoughts! Bye bye!
