On one special day, Wild called out to the others the moment they arrived in his Hyrule.
“GUYS! GUYS!”
Four turned along with the others to face Wild. “Hm? What’s up, Wild?”
“GUYS,” Wild didn’t let anyone else respond, he pointed at his Sheikah slate and yelled, “WE’RE HERE JUST IN TIME FOR E3!”
Hyrule blinked and raised an eyebrow, “What the heck is E3?”
“YOU DON’T KNOW? ” Wind screamed at Hyrule, who shook at the unexpected outburst.
“N-no?” Hyrule replied, almost too scared to do so.
“HYRULE,” now Warriors screamed at Hyrule, “THIS IS LITERALLY THE ONLY REASON WE EXIST IN THE FIRST PLACE, GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF THE CLOUDS!”
“Shut up, Wars!” Wild yelled frantically. “Guys, come to my house! I can project the stream from my Sheikah Slate!”
“You heard the man,” Time nodded seriously, “get going boys.”
The second Time finished his sentence, all of them sprinted towards Wild’s house.
They all clambered through the door and Wild mantled his Sheikah slate onto the wall.
Once the chain had managed to find seats around the projector, the E3 started to play.
The video opened with a red screen, in the center of the image there was a console snapping one of its loose controllers into alignment with the words “Nintendo E3'' at the bottom.
“KAZUYA IS IN SMAAAASH!!!!”
“WARS SHUT UP LEMME LISTEN!”
“SHUT UP, WIND!”
“Who’s Kazuya and what is this ‘Smash Bros?’”
“Oh, Hyrule, I need to get you up-to-date with the news…”
“That doesn’t answer my question? What is Super Smash Bros. Ultimate?”
“I’ve been there, it’s pretty fun.”
“WHAT IS SMASH THOUGH?! IS IT A GAME OR A PLACE?!”
Twilight hushed the group as the video switched to a different presentation.
Warriors’ eyes widened, “EVERYONE SHUT YOUR MOUTHS!
“ITS-A-MARIO TIME!”
Four smirked, “I want to be invited to Mario’s Party, it seems like it would be fun.”
“That’s not the name but, yeah, same. I want to hit my friends with turtle shells as weapons.”
“Wind, that’s Mario Kart.”
Four squinted at the screen and tilted his head to the side. “Hey is that Samus?”
“Huh?”
They all stared at the screen for a moment. Sure enough, it was the beloved protagonist from the Metroid series.
“HECK YEAH! I MISSED THE METROID SERIES!”
“FOUR, BE QUIET! WE’RE TRYING TO LISTEN TO THE PREVIEW!”
“This lowkey feels like something from a horror game--SAMUS NOOO DON’T DIE!”
“She can respawn, she’ll be okay.”
As the screen faded to black from the preview, a more colorful game popped onto the screen.
Hyrule’s eyes started sparkling as soon as he recognized what game it was, “THERE’S GONNA BE A JUST DANCE 2022?!”
Legend waved his hand at Hyrule, “I think the Just Dance series is way too easy to play through honestly. I’ve gotten perfect scores on almost all the songs.”
“Gee Leg, you didn’t have to flex like that.”
“What? It’s true!”
“You’re being mean to Hyrule!”
“No I’m not!” A pause, then a huff. “Hyrule I didn’t mean any offense to you.”
“It’s okay, Legend, I forgive you!”
“S-so he was offended…”
As the chain continued with their discussion, they all became quiet as Eiji Aonuma appeared. He talked for a time before the screen went dark.
Four nearly jumped out of his seat when Sky started frantically pointing at the screen. “GUYS GUYS GUYS LOOK! SKYWARD SWORD IS GETTING AN HD VERSION!”
“Thanks, Sky, we couldn’t read the giant text.”
“Also, didn’t they announce this during the previous Nintendo Direct?”
“Ah potato potato bUT SKYWARD SWORD IS GETTING AN HD VERSION!”
When the trailer for the game ended, the man announced that there was more news.
“A Game and Watch system?”
“Yeah, it’s for The Legend of Zelda’s 35th anniversary. Aonuma made that system with Zelda 1, Zelda 2, and Link’s Awakening.”
“Oh, so Hyrule’s been around for 35 years, huh?”
Warriors patted Hyrule on the shoulder and exclaimed, “Happy 35th birthday, Hyrule!”
With a puzzled expression, Hyrule replied, “...But I’m 17?”
Warriors blinked, “...oh right. My bad.”
The video continued, panning back to the announcer.
They all froze in place once they saw what was on screen.
Wild broke the silence first. “GUYS. GUYS.”
He inhaled, then screamed, “BREATH OF THE WILD 2 LET’S GOOOOOO!”
“WOOHOO!!!”
“Wild, why are you falling from the sky in this?! This isn’t Skyward Sword!”
“LOOK THERE ARE FLOATING ISLANDS!”
“DID YOU HEAR ME AT ALL?! ”
“ARE WE JUST GONNA IGNORE THE FACT THAT FLORA FELL INTO THE VOID? IS SHE OKAY?!”
“She’s probably fine...I think.” Four stated flatly.
“OKAY FLORA FALLING IS BAD AND ALL, BUT LOOK AT MY CLOTHES!”
“Wild, you already have way too many clothes. Also, are you sure that’s you?”
“What? Of course it is!”
“But consider the following. Y’know that tapestry in your Kakariko right behind Impa? 10k has the exact same clothes.”
“...”
“...”
“...oh Hylia, what am I going to be put through?”
“Hey, I’m sure you’ll do fine, Wild!”
“Thanks, Wind, at least someone has my back!”
Once the E3 drew to a close, the chain erupted with cheer.
Wars pumped a fist into the air, “WOOHOO THAT WAS GREAT!!!”
Twilight nodded in agreement, “Yeah, all of those games look like they're gonna be awesome!”
“Honestly, I can’t wait for Metroid Dread! It looks like the perfect mix between a horror game and a regular Metroid game.” Four grinned.
Wind was jumping excitedly, “Yeah! This E3 was a blast!”
“Thanks for streaming E3, Wild!” Four smiled.
“No problem guys,” Wild grinned. “I’m so glad I could watch it with eight other Links this year. You’re all amazing!”
The chain ran to embrace Wild in a warm group hug, thanking the scarred hero for his nice words.
