i am sinking my TEETH into this fic I want to consume it so bad you don’t even know. first off. excellent. showstopping. incredible. i love all the fake media and letters and just. the inherent implied queerness all over this fic, it’s so so so good. i especially liked the bit about marc and his like. Everything, it’s so good.
ALSO. THE LETTER BETWEEN ÉLISE ANF HER SISTER. god i am screaming. like!!!!! yes queen (literally lol)!!!! go offf!!!!!!!!! i rlly liked the just. sheer thinly veiled rage that was present in Élise’s response, chef’s kiss, honestly. and her bit about their grieving being a ‘family matter’ is just so perfect like!!!!! idk what exactly you intended her and Felix’s relationship to be like, but also. given Everything about his and Dimitri’s and her own implied with the Lady Vera……i just want them to be friends, like. please.
also Literally All of This is just giving me the image of that one meme like with my Ideal Dynamic of them being, Élise: “hi, this is my girlfriend Vera, and this is my husband Dimitri, and that’s Dimitri’s boyfriend Felix :) also if you are rude to any of us or our children we will not attempt to save you from getting stabbed by Felix <3” which. is such an image honestly? thank u for making it possible for it to be burned into my brain.
To Conclude. I LOVE fake historical fics and god did this one just absolutely blow me away. 10/10 i WILL be reading this again <3
EDIT: yes this is indeed me coming back with even more thoughts bc i want to keep screaming and also this comment section is Top Tier.
1. LAMBERT HUGO BLAIDDYD!!!!!!!! i noticed that earlier and was like lol that’s not very subtle of you Dimitri buddy, but like. coming back and also seeing some of the things that you replied to others with, this is just fueling my belief that like these kids had four parents and by god if they could not publicly acknowledge that then they damn well would privately. (and the whole bit with the duchy of Fraldarius being the traditional courtesy title of the heir!!!! I’m not okay!!!).
also like. how do you think Felix reacted to that. i think he cried. (Élise, literally maybe twenty minutes done with giving birth: Felix are you crying on my child. Felix: NO.)
2. MARC. MARC MY BUDDY. i sure Hope he held this over everyone’s heads at every Family Gathering for literal years to come because TAKE THAT SUCKERS. HA.
3. I thought I’d had another More Important thought, but like. It has since fled me while I was writing the rest, so I’m just gonna leave this here with an apology for accidentally misspelling Dimitri’s name for the entirety of this first version.
4. OH YEAH. god this just hits all the right happy spots like. Élise’s sister is decidedly Not Great but also. i know in my heart that she was absorbed into the giant family mess that is the blue lions (PLEASE tell me someone figured out rudimentary therapy for like. most of them) and i love her very much. this makes so much sense for their paired ending and like. i think it’s even funnier if (theoretically) the historians discover the letter between Dimitri and Felix and are like oh woe! betrayal of queen élise!!! and then they find a letter from Élise to Felix that, summarized, is basically just “hello bestie, please come home soon. our children miss you and also Dimitri had gained that Look on his face that means he’s sad and is refusing to talk about it too much. come put him out of his misery. also lambert is going to challenge you to a duel the second you get back, be prepared <3”
