Working at Scotland Yard has always been a dream for Lucy Baker, a dream that finally comes true. Yet the colourful image which she's had in her head for all the time is quickly destroyed when she meets her boss, Inspector Layton - highly intelligent, a prodigy of his generation, amazed by murder and downright rude and a nightmare to be around for more than five minutes.
