   Summary

   It is the year 1932. Seongwu is a bright fifteen-year old boy from Pyongyang. His teacher notices his intelligence, and helps him enter Gyeongseong Secondary School, one of the best secondary schools in Korea. Seougwu leaves his family home in Pyongyang and goes to live and attend school in Gyeonseong (present-day Seoul). There, he meets a boy his age named Minhyun, a Gyeongseong native, who will become his roommate, classmate, best friend, and eventually the love of his life.
