And this is how it ended, us on top of the world

Summary:

One was Midoriya, the other was Izuku.

The thought about a parallel universe was unreal. So many things so similar, and yet so…different. The students of 1-A could not believe that someone who looked like Midoriya could smile so – cruelly.

Chapter Text

Izuku pulled up his hood, hiding half of his scarred face in its shadows. A simple white mask was donned on next, a crudely drawn smiling mouth, teeth in full display. The edges dotted; so no one would forget your adorable freckles, is what Shouto had told him.

A smile blossomed behind the mask as he thought about his lover. No matter how doom and gloom the day seemed, Shouto could and would always brighten it. Well, sometimes it took causing doom and gloom for others but…oh well.

Fully dressed in his mockery of an outfit he walked out the room.

“Morning boss.” his subordinates greeted him. All of them dressed in his hero costume. Pathetic.

“Alright guys! Let’s go have some fun!” Izuku yelled, pumping his hands up. His actions mirrored by the numerous lackeys in their grinning green outfit.

“Boss, Mr Todoroki says to be careful.” one of the lackeys said, halting Izuku’s moment, “He said he won’t be able to return home today so you have to take care.”

The entire room had fallen silence. The large cartoon eyes printed on the mask hiding their expressions.

Fear.

Pure, unadulterated fear.

Izuku glanced up at the man decked in the cartoon outfit. He reached up, lightly caressing the painted eyes with his thumb.

“Thank you for worrying about me.” came the sweet voice of his.

“Um…uh…” the man attempted to back up, away from the hand.

Izuku followed.

“Can you call Shouchan and tell him I’ll be okay.” Izuku’s thumb trailed down to the “mouth.”

“Ye-yes boss.” the man nodded, the high pointed ears swinging at the motion.

“Thank you.” Izuku let his hand drop, turning back to face the crowd, “Let’s wait for him to finish up and then we can go out to have fun.” he merrily informed the group, clapping his hands in excitement.

“Boss,” the man addressed him, “Mr Todoroki says to have fun.” Izuku nodded, “And he said he will bring you katsudon.”

“Aww, Shouchan looks after me so well.” Izuku crossed his fingers, lightly swaying on one foot.

“Um…yes boss.” the man was confused; this was how the number one villain acted? He should have gone with Hammerhead; at least with him he could smash things.

Izuku giggled, his hands now digging into the front pocket of his hoodie, “But…you know…” he sighed, the ears of the hoodie slouching a little, “Now Shouchan is going to be worried. What if he gets hurt because of that?” he asked in a quiet voice.

“Um…”

“Will you take responsibilities for that?” Izuku hissed, a total change in his mannerism.

The man gulped, taking a step back when he felt the cold nozzle of the gun pressed against his forehead. His eyes slowly shifting down, taking in the razor sharp green eyes peeking through the shadow of Izuku’s hood.

“Bo-boss…” the man stammered, slowly kneeling down, “I’m- I’m sorry boss…” he gulped.

“You should be.” Izuku hissed, pressing the gun further in, “If Shouto gets even a single, a single scratch on him…” the gun clicked.

BANG!

The man whimpered, startled by the loud noise. His eyes closed in desperation as sweat trickled down. Wait, what? His eyes snapped open. He was still alive.

Izuku chuckled, “You really looked scared.” he set the gun down, his free arm held out, “Come on dude, stand up.”

The entire room’s tension just lifted. His fellow comrades all started laughing. Was this hazing? The man let out a nervous chuckle, accepting his new boss’ hand and pulling himself off.

BANG!

The man crumbled, a loud scream piercing the room. Fuck! He stared at his bleeding knee. What the fuck? He struggled to look up at Izuku.

Izuku pulled his hood back, narrowed eyes staring down at the trembling man. He leaned down, resting one leg on top of the bleeding knee. The man let out another scream.

“Next time, it’ll be your head.” Izuku hissed, increasing the pressure on the knee one more time before standing up, “Someone clean this up.” he ordered, chucking the gun to one corner.

A trail of one red foot, painted the pristine white marble, following Izuku.

Izuku whimpered as the “doctors” inserted another needles into his body. Any will and strength to fight had all disappeared, long ago. How long had it been? Since his own parents had dropped him here.

Izuku squeezed his eyes shut, attempting to chase away the tears that threatened to fall. His heart hurt. Painful thudding. Hammering harshly against its cage. It hurt.

“Call the chief. Patient 18 is having unusual reaction.” one of the doctors ordered, already scrambling to jot down any and all information.

It hurt.

Something was grasping around his throat.

Tightening.

Tighter.

He struggled for breath.

Tight.

He blacked out.

Izuku grinned, revelling the mass destruction that surrounded him. He was sat, perched on top of rubbles, quietly taking in the screams and cries. Nothing better than to spend time causing mayhem.

“Master Midoriya.”

Izuku tilted his head back, grinning upon seeing who it was, “Ah, Kurogiri.” He hopped down from his perch, lightly landing in front of the black creature, “What brings you here?”

“Todoroki sent me to check up on you.” Kurogiri replied, his head turned away from the grinning boy.

“Aww, Shouchan worries too much.” Izuku pulled off his half mask, a genuine smile gracing his face.

“He cares for you.” Kurogiri gazed down at the boy who was lightly tracing the lines of the mask.

“I care for him too.” Midoriya looked up, an expression of pure happiness and love.

Kurogiri sometimes wondered how this innocent looking boy could have been the cause of the massacre. He still remembered the crazed look on Midoriya’s face. A wide-eyed, bloodied boy cackling in middle of the fire and piles of body. Todoroki standing quiet and vigilant next to him, just daring anyone to attack.

That had been the day the underground world of the villains had taken a 180-degree change. And a seamless nobody had risen to the top. And had remained there.

“Kurogiri?” Izuku leaned closer, “You okay?”

Kurogiri blinked, slightly taken aback by the closeness, “Ah, forgive me. I was lost in thoughts. Did you say something Master Midoriya?”

Izuku grinned, “I was asking if Shouchan told you to come grab me.”

“Ah, no. He merely wanted me to check up on you, in case you require assistance.”

Izuku chuckled, “Assistance, yeah right. More like grab and run probably.”

“I wish to remain silence on the matter.”

Izuku lightly pat Kurogiri’s shoulders, “I’m done here anyways. Could you drop me off back in my apartment?” he asked, slotting the mask back on his face.

Kurogiri nodded, “Of course.” A swirling black portal appeared next to him, “Would you like me to clean up here?” he asked, gesturing towards the masses of villain still wrecking havoc.

Izuku paused, one foot already stepping inside the portal. He twisted his body back, “Hm…let them have their fun. If someone goes out of control too much...” Izuku turned back towards the portal, “Remove them.”

“Understood.” Kurogiri lightly bowed, ignoring the chill that spread through his body at the cold command, “Safe trip, master Midoriya.”

“Midoriya.” Todoroki called out when he saw his friend leaving the school ground.

Midoriya turned around, “Todoroki?” he asked, confused.

“Um…I…there’s…” Todoroki mumbled.

“Hm? “ Midoriya tilted his head, confused, “What’s wrong?”

“Ah. No. Nothing’s wrong.” Todoroki shook his head; “I just wanted to ask your opinion about something.”

Midoriya blinked, “Of course.” he smiled, “I’d be happy to help.”

Todoroki’s lip curled into a small smile, “Thank you Midoriya. Can we go elsewhere though?”

“Sure. Should we go get some food? I’m kind of hungry.” Midoriya suggested.

Todoroki nodded.

The duo found themselves inside a fast food restaurant, both settling with their burgers, fries, and drink.

“I can’t believe you asked if they had cold soba.” Midoriya laughed.

Todoroki frowned, “I don’t usually eat in a fast food restaurant.”

Midoriya blinked, “Never?” he asked, disbelief clear in his face.

“Never.” Todoroki confirmed, grabbing a piece of fried potato and nibbling on it.

“I’m not sure whether to be impressed or sad.” Midoriya said, tearing open a satchel of salt and pepper lightly dusting his chips with it, “You’ve been missing out on greasy food, so I’m not even sure if it’s a good idea introducing you to this.”

Todoroki shrugged, taking a big bite of his burger. It was simply delicious.

“I’m not sure whether to be thankful.” Todoroki commented, licking his lips for the excess sauce and grease that leaked out from the burger.

Midoriya snickered, “Don’t complain to me when you have to work extra hard to keep your physique.”

“I think I’d be okay with it for more of this processed meat.” Todoroki commented, washing off the burger with a sip of his drink.

“That’s what you say now. But, soon…” Midoriya trailed off, wiping the grease with the provided napkin, “So, what did you want my help with?”

“Oh. Yeah.” Todoroki leaned back against the couch, “It’s…uncomfortable…embarrassing?” Todoroki hid his face behind one hand, “I’m not even sure.”

Midoriya was shocked. The normally calm and collected Todoroki Shouto was blushing quite furiously. He could see the tip of his ears getting red.

“Um…Todoroki, if you don’t control yourself you might light the couch on fire.” Midoriya commented after seeing light traces of smoke waft out of Todoroki.

“This is why!” Todoroki hissed.

“Um…?” Midoriya was slightly worried now, “Todoroki, are you alright?”

Todoroki took a deep breath before standing up straight, “Midoriya!” he stated.

“Yes?” Midoriya startled.

“Do you know how to ask someone out?”

“…Yes?” Midoriya was shocked, what? “Wait, what?” Midoriya shouted, standing up at the shock.

“I like…someone.” Todoroki mumbled, the blush increasing every second, “I wanted to know how to…confess.” he rubbed the back of his neck, nervousness present all over him.

“Um…” Midoriya was lost for word. A flush covering his face when understanding finally dawned him, “I’m- I…I don’t know Todoroki. I’m sorry, I can’t help you.” Midoriya mumbled out.

“Ah…I see.” Todoroki sat back down, “Sorry about this.” he apologies.

“No, no, no, it’s fine.” Midoriya waved both hands, “I’m sorry for being able to help.”

Todoroki merely gave him a small smile.

“So, um…who is it?” Midoriya asked, albeit hesitant.

“Huh?”

“The girl you like.” Midoriya took a sip of his drink.

“Oh…” Todoroki paused, “Oh!” he looked away, the tip of ears renewing their flush, “….you…” he mumbled out.

“Hm? Todoroki? Sorry I didn’t hear you.” Midoriya leaned forward, “Could you repeat that?”

Todoroki turned back to face him. Midoriya could see the flush covering his entire face. He must be really embarrassed.

Todoroki abruptly stood up and grabbed his bags, “I’ll see you in class tomorrow.” he side stepped out of the couch, “Thanks for trying to help.”

“Huh?” Midoriya watched Todoroki go, “Wait, Todoroki!” he grabbed his bag and ran after Todoroki, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to embarrass you.” he apologised catching up to the other boy.

“It’s okay. I know you didn’t mean to.” Todoroki dismissed his apologies, “I haven’t explained it properly.”

“I’m still sorry though.” Midoriya repeated.

Todoroki smiled, “Have you prepared for the upcoming physical exam?” he asked in an attempt to change the topic.

Midoriya immediately perked up, “Yes! I’ve been able to control my quirk better now.”

“So, no breaking your entire hand to reach your objective?” Todoroki joked, chuckling at the blushing Midoriya.

“No…not this time.” Midoriya murmured, lightly blushing. His grip on his bag strap tightening.

“Thank you Midoriya.”

“Huh?” Midoriya asked, “Why ar-” he stopped, eyes widening as he saw a black portal materialise behind Todoroki.

“Midoriya?” Todoroki asked, slightly worried at the abrupt silence, “What’s the matter?” he asked, turning around to see what had Midoriya frozen.

He himself froze. Fear coursing through him. Remembering what had happened before when said portal had appeared in front of them.

A foot stepped out.

Todoroki shifted into a battle stance, Midoriya coming to similar stance next to him.

“Todoroki, we need to clear the streets.” Midoriya said, his eyes never leaving a figure slowly emerging from the portal.

“We need to contact the heroes.” Todoroki suggested, “But before that we should try to lure the villain away fro-” shock and astonishment cut him off.

“What…” Midoriya whispered, shocked.

Before them stood….Midoriya Izuku?

“Oh…” the newly appeared Midoriya said, staring down at them, “What do we have here?” he pulled off the mask.

Todoroki and Midoriya tensed, their faces unable to hold the horror at the reveal of a scarred face.

“Did we miss out something?” the new Midoriya leaned closer to Midoriya.

What on earth was going on?

“Who are you?” Todoroki asked, small crystals of icicles already forming around his right hand.

The scarred Midoriya turned to face him. His eyes roaming up and down Todoroki before stopping at his face, “Shouchan is the same everywhere it seems.” he said with a smile.

“Shou…chan?” Midoriya was confused, still unable to understand why there was someone else like him.

The new Midoriya turned back to him, “I’m not exactly sure what to say. Or if I even should say anything.”

“Start by explaining who you are.” Todoroki demanded, “Are you using some quirk? You walked out of that portal, are you a villain?” With each question, the crystallisation of ice increased around him.

“Quirk?” the scarred Midoriya asked, “Do you have a quirk?” he asked Midoriya.

“Don’t answer that Midoriya.” Todoroki said, “We’re the ones asking you questions, not the other way around. Now,” his left side flared up, “Start speaking.”

The new Midoriya grinned.

Toshinori was confused. Worried? Fearful? Everything above? He sighed, his eyes focused on the Midoriya being interrogated in the room before him.

When he had gotten a call from a frantic Midoriya talking about a clone, or something he had simply ignored it thinking it was pre jitters due to the upcoming exams. But, apparently it was not.

“I’m not even sure what to say.” Aizawa commented, coming to a stop next to him.

“Maybe something along the line of, it’s a full body transformation quirk would be helpful.”

“Suffice to say, it’s not.” Aizawa sighed, “No matter what we want it to be. Or think it is. The kid sitting there is hundred per cent Midoriya Izuku.”

“I was afraid you were going to say that.” Toshinori’s eyes traced the various scars that littered his young protégé’s lookalike. Something very similar covered the Midoriya he knew as well.

It worries me.” Aizawa said after a while, breaking the silence surrounding them.

“Hm?” Toshinori eyed the hero from the corner of his eyes.

“That kid is…” Aizawa stared at the grin and the laid back form of the new Midoriya, “Dangerous.”

“I think so too.” Toshinori added. Ever since he first saw the other Midoriya, he had an uneasy feeling settled within him. Something about the almost unhinged look on his eyes and the ecstatic grin always present unsettled him. What was the kid hiding?

“Looks like the interrogation is over.” Aizawa said before walking out of the room, intent on catching the interrogator.

Toshinori prepared to follow only to be stopped by the new Midoriya turning to face him. Midoriya waved at him, a smile still present on his face.

How did he know that Toshinori was behind the glass mirror?

“I hope someone’s behind the mirror or I’d be waving at nothing like a lunatic.” the other Midoriya chuckled, still waving.

He seemed far too confident for it to be luck.

Toshinori walked out of the room.

Izuku sat in the corner of the spacious white room, ignoring other children that were around him; playing. The only splash of colour against the white were the brightly coloured toys.

He stared down at his pristine white gown, wondering how exactly it stayed clean after all those-

He squeezed his eyes shut. He did not want to remember.

Forget.

Forget.

fORGet

For…

The door slid open, catching the attention of everyone inside. The doctors had returned and this time a new kid joined them. Unlike himself and the rest of the kid, the new kid had a full head of hair –half white, half red) and wore normal clothes consisting of bright patterned shirt and pants.

“You can play with them while waiting Master Shouto.” one of the doctor said.

The kid-Shouto nodded in understanding and walked in. His steps leaving behind a muddy trail.

Shouto stopped in the middle of the room. The attention of the entire room on him as he kneeled down, grabbing one of the book lying upside down. He began reading.

Izuku sat cross-legged on the floor, resting his chin on top of his hand. It was quiet, and he was bored. He sighed.

“Hello? Anyone there?” his voice echoed around the empty room, “Ugh.” he fell flat on his back, arms and legs spread out, “What to do…what to do…?”

The door in the far end slid open. Izuku ignored it.

“Mido-” the blonde hair, Toshinori Yagi started.

“I-zu-ku.” he cut him off, “My name’s Izuku.” he repeated, pushing himself upright, “Right sensei?” he smiled.

“Ah…yes. Izuku.” Toshinori cleared his throat, “This is Ishiyama Ken,” he introduced the grey person standing next to him.

“Hello.” Izuku smiled, waving his hand in greeting.

“We’re going to be testing your combat abilities today.” Toshinori continued, “Ishiyama is going to be your opponent.”

“Combat…abilities?” Izuku asked, head tilting to side.

“Um. Yes.”

“What combat abilities?” Confusion apparent in his clear green eyes.

“A simulated battle.” Toshinori said, “It’ll happen in one of our testing ground. Do you need any gear to set up?”

“Simulated battle…” Izuku slowly stood up, a frown on his face before brightening up, “Ah! So, this is like one of those books where I’ve been sent to another world. And in this world there is magic!”

Toshinori and Ishiyama was confused. The various tests that had been conducted on Izuku had shown weird numbers, granted the test to check quirks had been peculiar.

“Yosh! Let’s go save a princess or something.” Izuku followed the duo out of the room, “Is that why I’ve been called to this world? Like the chosen one! Or something.” he grinned.

The group arrived in a smaller room, filled with different machines. A window was at the front overlooking into a giant empty room.

The room was filled with different people. Heroes from the UA probably, thought Izuku. He gave each of them a smile, inwardly rejoicing at the look of distrust and confusion on their face.

“If you could please.” Toshinori gestured towards the door.

A stepladder that dropped down to the training room.

Once both Izuku and Ishiyama were in position, Toshinori instructed over the loud speakers, “Try to attack Ishiyama, Izuku. He will only be defending in the first round.”

“Yes, sir!” was Izuku’s enthusiastic reply.

“Are you ready Izuku?” Ishiyama called out from across the room, as he prepared in a defensive stance.

“Yup!” Izuku shouted, one hand waving in the air.

Immediately rows of cement blocks covered the path between him and Izuku as he prepared for any onslaught of attack.

Crack.

Toshinori and the rest of the heroes gasped in shock. Ishiyama was on high alert.

A scream.

What?

Ishiyama tore the blocks in half, pushing them to the side of the room. There in front of him sat a teary Izuku holding a broken hand. What?

“Izuku!” Toshinori’s voice rang out from the loudspeakers.

Ishiyama rushed to the crying boy, “A-are you alright?” he asked, unsure what to do, unsure as to what happened.

“I think I broke my hand.” Izuku winced, his right hand cradled close to his chest.

“Why didn’t you use your quirk?” Toshinori asked, he had come down to meet them.

“Quirk?” Izuku asked, “What is this quirk everyone’s talking about?”

Eh?

A quick drop by Recovery Girl and a more informed Izuku sat between them.

“Oh, so in this world. People have special abilities called Quirks?” Izuku concluded.

“Yes. The portal you entered through is also a quirk called warp gate.” Toshinori said.

“Oh.” Izuku nodded, “I just saw it and thought it was some kind of movie promotion, so I walked in.” he laughed.

“Movie…promotion…” Ishiyama was hesitant; there was something about this harmless looking boy that was incredibly frightening.

He gulped, when the attention of the boy turned to him, “I mean wouldn’t you also want to check out something like that?”

Ishiyama nodded, “Yes, yes I would.” he smiled.

“Midoriya are you okay?” Uraraka asked, concern lacing her face.

Midoriya gave her a reassuring smile, “I’m fine Uraraka, just didn’t sleep well.”

“You’ve been busy studying haven’t you?” she frowned.

“Something like th-” he cut off, his attention caught by Todoroki entering the room, “Todoroki!” he exclaimed, standing up.

Todoroki paused, turning to face him.

Midoriya stood on spot, waiting for Todoroki to reach him.

“How are you?” he asked when Todoroki stopped in front of him.

“I’m doing fine Midoriya. I should be asking if you’re alright.” Todoroki said.

“A bit shocked, but other than that I’m doing okay.”

Uraraka stared at the duo, confused, “Guys, what’s going on?” she asked.

“Hm…” Midoriya frowned, “I’m not sure if I can tell you Uraraka.”

“As if that isn’t going to make her curious more.” Todoroki scoffed.

“Ah! Sorry Uraraka.” Midoriya apologised, slapping his hands together in an apologetic gesture, “But I really can’t tell you. Or, I’m not sure if I can tell you.”

Uraraka frowned, “If you say so, it’s not harming you guys though right?”

Both Todoroki and Midoriya responded with a negative gesture.

“As long as you guys are fine.” she smiled.

“Thank you Uraraka.”

“Everyone, please sit down. Class is about to start.” Iida instructed from the front of the class, “We need to be fully prepared for the class.”

Class 1-A used to their class representative’s behaviour just laughed along, all of them slowly slipping into their seats.

“We’ll talk later Midoriya.” Todoroki said before striding to his seat.

“Okay.” Midoriya sat back down.

Class started.

And Aizawa sensei walked in. He followed.

Midoriya could hear the exact moment the entirety of class 1-A took one single breath. Shock and confusion filling their entire being.

“Mi-Midoriya?” Mineta stammered, his finger pointing at the smiling Midoriya in front of them.

Bakugou turned around to glare at Midoriya, “What’s the meaning of this Deku?” he hissed.

Midoriya just gulped.

“Am I seeing things?” Yaoyorozu murmured, still unable to comprehend what was going on.

“Is this what you and Todoroki were talking about earlier?” Tokoyami asked, a picture of calm but Midoriya could feel the uncertainty hanging off of him.

“Class. This is Midoriya Izuku. He’ll be joining us for a few days.” Aizawa sensei explained, “For the time being grab a chair from the storage and sit with the other Midoriya.”

The other Midoriya smiled and bowed, “It’s a pleasure to meet you all. I’m Midoriya Izuku, please feel free to call me Izuku.”

“I’ll show him the way to the storage room, sensei.” Iida said, his hands raised.

Aizawa raised his hand and shook his head, “No, Midoriya will handle Izuku. Show Izuku around.” he addressed Midoriya.

Midoriya nodded before standing up, “Let’s go.” he told Izuku.

“So…what were you and Sh-Todoroki doing the other day?” Izuku asked, breaking the uncomfortable silenced that stretched between them.

The hallways were empty as all the students were in their classes.

“Nothing.” Midoriya replied, coming to a stop before the storage room.

“Hm…” Izuku followed Midoriya into the darkened room.

“Who are you?” Midoriya asked, coming to a stop in the middle of the room.

“No one.” Izuku replied with a grin.

Midoriya sighed, “I’m not trying to play games with you.”

“Neither am I.”

“Then why won’t you answer my questions?”

“Why don’t you?”

Midoriya untangled a chair from the jungle of dusty furniture. He set it down on the floor with slightly more force than necessary. The bang resonating across the quiet room.

“How about a trade?” Izuku offered, enjoying the frustration he was causing the other boy, “One question each that we’ll answer with hundred per cent truth.”

“What promise do I have that your answer will be truth?” Midoriya asked.

“You don’t.” was Izuku’s cheerful reply, “But wouldn’t that be more fun?”

“Fine.” Midoriya huffed, “You go first.” he lifted the chair with one hand and walked out of the room.

“Well, I already asked my question.” Izuku said, “But I’ll rephrase it.” he leaned closer to Izuku, “What do you think of Todoroki?”

Midoriya frowned, what was he trying to imply?

“He is one of my friend and who will be a brilliant hero in the future.” Midoriya replied.

Izuku frowned, “Well, that’s boring.”

“Now, my turn.” Midoriya stopped, fully turning to face the other boy, “Who are you? What are you? Why are yo-”

“One question only remember.” Izuku stopped him, a finger placed over Midoriya’s lips, “So, which one would you like answered?”

Midoriya paused, his brows furrowing as he thought, “Who are you?” he asked. Determined.

Izuku smiled, a peculiar smile, “I’m Midoriya Izuku.” he replied like a cat that caught the canary.

“That is not what I meant!” Midoriya cried out.

“Ah, but it is a legit answer to your question. Is it not?” Izuku asked, stopping in front of their class’ door.

“You tricked me.” Midoriya frowned.

“If you say so.” Izuku shrugged, sliding the door open.

“And if you do this…tadaa!”

Izuku’s smile brightened, “It’s so pretty Shouchan!” he exclaimed, tentatively touching the crystallised figurine in front of him.

“I’ll give it to you Zuku.” Shouto grinned, holding out the figurine to Izuku.

Overwhelming happiness radiated off the green haired boy, cradling the figurine between both his hands, “Thank you Shouchan! I’ll definitely treasure it.”

Shouto smiled, happy that his friend was happy. His first friend.

“Master Shouto, it’s time to return.” One of the handlers interrupted them.

Shouto frowned. He hated the times he was separated as much as he treasured the little moment with his friend.

“Shouchan has to go?” Izuku murmured, wide teary eyes staring at Shouto.

Shouto bit his lips, a sharp pang of pain racing through his heart. He seriously hates it. Despised it.

He pat Izuku’s head, “It’s okay Zuku, I’ll be back tomorrow. And I’ll practice even more to make even more beautiful gifts for you.”

Izuku sniffled, slowly nodding his head, “See you tomorrow.”

Shouto grabbed his friend into a tight hug, “Till tomorrow Zuku.” he skipped out of the room.

He returned the next day. To a crying Izuku. The crystal sculpture in millions of little shards. Scars and cuts littered him.

“Shouchan…” Fat tears ran down Izuku’s pink face, “I’m so, so, sorry.” His face twisted and distorted with pain, “I tried so hard to save it…but…” he held out the bust of the sculpture, the sharp, jagged edge digging into his bloodied hand, “I’m so sorry Shouchan.”

Shouto ran across the room, ignoring of the broken shards grinding underneath his shoes, “It’s okay Zuku, it’s okay.” he whispered, pulling Izuku into a hug, slowly patting his back, “I’ll make you another one. A better one. Even more beautiful. And no matter how many time it breaks. I’ll always gift you a better one.”

One of the handlers returned to pick up Shouto only to stumble back in fear. Bile rose up. The acidic taste filling his every sense.

“Doctor Todoroki!” he yelled, scrambling to his feet.

Enji Todoroki took in the scene in front of him. His son, laid in middle of an crystallised room. Lounging on the makeshift throne with a green haired boy cradled within his arm. A smile on their face as they chatted randomly.

Around them lay pieces of humans. Torn. Shredded. Burnt. Drowning in their own pool of blood.

An eyeball rolled into a stop in front of him.

That was the last time Shouto visited Izuku until…
