Replays of the split-second of eye-contact they held during the game, and the way the catcher’s throw had rocketed into his glove flicker through his mind every time he closes his eyes, and his body shudders at the memory of the fire burning in Miyuki’s eyes.

Summary
from here, the bruising along miyuki's side is obvious. it'd been one thing, to be at the hospital and catch a glimpse at it while the doctors examined it. there, while tough to watch, it was clinical. it was distant. it was something kuramochi could take in and then compartmentalize for later.
this, though—this is up close, and this is impossible to ignore, purples and blues clouding his vision.

Summary
kuramochi plans a surprise romantic ski vacation to nagano as a last-ditch effort to salvage his relationship with his boyfriend, but gets dumped anyway. enter one miyuki kazuya, who wants to help out his best friend in the whole world, and offers to go on the vacation with him so he doesn't lose all that money on non-refundable reservations.
three things come to pass: kuramochi learns that his ex-boyfriend was right about him not being over his crush on miyuki, miyuki realizes that his best friend is all that he's ever wanted in a boyfriend, and the new year brings them luck even before it's even truly begun.
