Summary
After ten years in Stillwater for a crime she didn't commit, Vi breaks herself out and goes home. Her homecoming doesn't go like she thought it would.
Two years later, she's out of control and out on the streets. She's now a champion pitfighter, a raging alcoholic, and completely on her own. Despite her family's best (and desperate) efforts to help, Vi's on a one-way track to ending up either dead or back in prison.
At the same time, Caitlyn arrives in the undercity to collect data and information for her thesis. She starts her research from a local bar called The Last Drop, which puts her right into Vi's path. Vi might have been out of her family's home for years, but she's still not going to let a topsider put them in danger.
Canon divergence (everyone lives!), enemies to lovers (barely, the lovers aspect happens fast), angst, trauma, addiction, and also fluff and humour (because these things can co-exist!)

Summary
Dr. Kiramman steers her through the chaos and plants her in a chair. Does something to her arm that hurts like fuck, then drapes her in bags of ice and wraps her in a sling. Blinds her with a pen light—“Called it,” she mumbles when he confirms she’s concussed—and presses two pills and a warm mug into her hand. It smells herbaceous. Familiar.
“I brought the good stuff from home,” Dr. Kiramman confesses, and it takes her a moment to understand he means tea. “Extra honey for you. I know you haven’t acquired the taste.”
He’s right in that she only actually drank it once, the first time it was offered—the afternoon they spoke to the Council, several lifetimes ago. But she tasted it just this morning in Caitlyn’s mouth, grassy and sweet. So she pops the pills and takes a sip. Tries not to think about whether that terrified kiss over breakfast was their last. “I want to see her.”
After the war, Vi and Cait recover, and rebuild.

Summary
Her mouth is left agape for a few minutes, the silence creating a pressure like it’s a vice grip. All of the composure she had desperately held together when dealing with Vi was suddenly obliterated at the site of her mother. She was young and more beautiful than she could have imagined. The wrinkles from years of stress and worry are gone. The grey hairs that speckle her navy hair aren’t yet showing. Her eyes are softer as her spirit has not been beat down yet by years of running and protecting a city while maintaining the duties of her house and the duties to her child.
Cass will do everything in her power to save Vi because by saving Vi, she now truly knows it will save her mother as well.

When a mystery visitor alters Vi’s plans on a normal Friday afternoon, she finds that her whole world is suddenly turned upside down. The visitor brings news of a tragic event that can be prevented, but Vi is unsure that the risk is worth the reward.

Summary
Hard-boiled detective Caitlyn is ready to close up shop, when she finds herself pulled into one last mystery by Vi. The handsome stranger came back to town in search of her long lost younger sister, who happens to be Caitlyn's archnemesis. Meanwhile, starting first grade in Bridge Elementary, Caitlyn's daughter and Vi's adopted kid become best friends, forcing the two single moms closer while the case drives them apart.
A story about a blended family that probably should have stayed in the blender a little longer.
