Shrugging one shoulder far more casually than he possibly feels, Ilya says, “I like both. Is secret, okay?”
“Okay,” Hollander says, voice cracking.
He doesn’t say anything else. The air’s so heavy around them that it feels like being in the middle of a scrum, the weight and heat of all those bodies pressing down on you. Danger always feels like hockey; it’s the most dangerous thing Ilya knows, except for this. Everything dangerous in his life involves men’s bodies and just how close he can get to them. Closer than he probably should.
Nobody knows why Shane Hollander dropped out of the 2009 draft at the last second, and a year later it stuns the whole hockey world when he's signed by the Boston Raiders. Having the two biggest stars in the league on the same line is great for Boston - but playing alongside their worst rival was never exactly in Shane or Ilya's plans. Especially not when staying away from each other starts to feel just as impossible as getting along.

Ch3: the flashback scene oh man..oh man, Shane is so afraid and helpless to his own head(I’m a freak he says) n Ilya is just as helpless to his love. Ilya is just always watching(watching watching watching he’s always waiting) and wanting. And then the lust and rage and everything merging together? Holy…heh! Cuz Ilya was so rude for leaving Shane high strung like that but also tbh good thinking. They’re so fine… Feral Shane..I await (Shane fucking himself on a dildo while screaming for Ilya….embarrassed.)Ch4: oh this is fucking with my heart so badly wow it’s so perfect and so painful. This is the chapter where after chapter 3 u think it’s going to go up, or at least somewhere for them but then we just take 10 big steps back to where we came from(please I beg u Shane say something). Ilya finally speaks his thoughts after 5 years of silently waiting and hoping. What do you mean he bought a house in ottawa and looked at each and every letter with his tattering hopes everytime he got another official mail from Shane, slowly realising they won’t happen again. What do you mean Ilya really believes Shane doesn’t love him anymore after 10 years of being together, after 10 years of stubborn attraction that they couldn’t escape from even in the heat of their rivalry. He thinks 5 years was enough for Shane to forget him. Hah! Shane you are a sick man…he just cannot for the life of him move, talk, reach out to Ilya. He asks n asks bc he’s afraid n bc he believes Ilya will always be with him no matter bc who would they be if they’re not together, whole. But Shane’s the one that walked out? Ilya was always waiting. How long was he planning to wait and how long(how much) was Shane planning to take. I’m so sick this is so hurtful but so good the writing is too good I’m in love.
