“We’ll get ‘em next time, huh?” Sterling’s voice cracks a little. She swallows the lump in her throat.
April cuts her eyes in Sterling’s direction, a well-practiced sneer pulling at her lips.
“I’m sorry, why are you speaking?”
Sterling keeps her eyes locked on the numbers lit up above the door, noting the way they are very slowly making their descent. Her teeth tug at her bottom lip, nibbling at the skin there. She can do this. She can get through one (1) elevator ride with the object of her... affection? Lust? No. April simply objects to the thought of her.
